Someone that is on on the level of AD Justin Fields um who could get the job done in the way that they believe that Ohio State football I is to be played uh I mean they loved what they had I think I mean I think they were okay with it but

I don’t think they were excited about it it wasn’t an excitement around it right right um I look at it this this this way they have a potentially good defense that is returning or coming in as well some some new additions and I’m not talking about the group MH but and

They also have a nice you know Core group of solid guys I mean obviously you’re gonna hate to lose Marvin Harrison Jr and um the uh gosh darn it my mind just drew blank just on that minute cage Stover the the receiver that that just left Fleming Fleming fling

Yeah they’re gonna hate to lose that but they always try to retool and revamp they got the number one receiver in the country cominging in in Jeremiah Smith yeah so they’re going to have some tools there they got some good skill players but ultimately I think they feel that

He’s a type of guy that could get the job done now he’s not gonna have the legs like they’ve had in the past with guys there but he’s definitely got the IQ he’s got the arm he’s got every every component that you you would need in the

Style that Ohio State plays and so I I I don’t know if it’s there to save him because it’s a one-year thing right so there so you know everybody’s going to be looking at it as it’s it’s Payola pay to pay to play and get in and try to win

But ultimately I just don’t know if it’s enough to say I think if they if they continue down the track that they have as far as Michigan is concern obviously coming into a new realm of big 10 is it enough is there somebody that they have in the way in

The weight you know somebody that they’re looking at how do you feel how do you feel they did as far as even in the recruitment of a 2024 do they have somebody in 2025 I I I I just I I don’t know it’s no buzz around that aspect their skill

Positions their defense other aspects of their five stars I just haven’t seen anybody on the quarterback side that that’s wooing the crowd right now so the quarterback that they end up with for the 2024 class is a Nolan um he’s out of Langston Hughes in Georgia fourstar

Rated 995 um that’s his grade who’s really good like he’s a top five quarterback in the country in terms of recruit but let’s not forget strict Dylan Rola committed to Ohio State first he wasn’t a Georgia commit the whole time he started out committed to Ryan

Day and the Buckey if Dylan Rola had stayed committed to Ohio State do you think Kyle McCord is still their starter next year or do you think Kyle McCord dips anyways well with the landscape of how this um transfer portal has gone as of late it looks like a lot of guys don’t

Want the smoke right looks like a lot of guys don’t want the competition so maybe K mord does both which would leave them kind of in the same boat though you know trying to either search for a transfer guy because I feel pretty confident in saying this stct Dylan Rola wouldn’t

Have started from day one at Ohio State I don’t think so I don’t I don’t their track record in that is not one that says that that’s the case he would have sat for a year at Ohio State yeah whether it’s behind McCord maybe you know Devin Brown’s the guy that gets it

But I don’t think Aon Nolan ends up at Ohio State if Dylan riol is there but again I think that just speaks to the difference in where Nebraska and Ohio State are at right I mean you could have had the same two guys in the room at

Both places it could have been Kyle McCord and Dylan Rola at Ohio State could have been that way at Nebraska but now Kyle McCords up at Syracuse dyl Rola deom from Ohio State decom from Georgia who also has a quarterback in their class and strick we were talking about

This Rico and I with Talia tagaloa in the transfer portal now Rico says he would like a guy like Talia taga at Nebraska is a bridge guy I still think ideally yeah I would like a guy to come in and play for a year ahead of Dylan

Rola so he doesn’t have the weight of the world on his shoulders from year one but I’ve talked myself into and convinced myself that Nebraska’s done at quarterback don’t think they’re dipping back into that even if they wanted to I don’t know if anyone would come you know

Want to battle for that spot I have convinced myself Dylan rol is the day one starter next year I think that’s probably how it’s going to be as well um again I still think the conversations that I would have with hrich highberg is position change um I I don’t know I don’t know

Where that would be I still think maybe at that hybrid that tight end just a a guy that can do multiple things I think he’s skilled K Mentor Carter Nelson I think he’s skilled man I think he’s skilled enough to do something else that would ultimately play and put him in a

Position to have Next Level success it’s just a matter of what if he believes that he wants I I I think he’s too old to really change he needs a significant overhaul on his mechanics and his that’s just something that’s tough to do this late in the game

Especially at this level right I don’t know if you have enough time I don’t know if you have enough time to that kind of overhaul that would like be me okay let me give you an example in the opposite way Austin you remember there was a guy that was tremendously gifted

Number one pick phenomenal phenomenally skilled out of Purple Rain area his name is Markel folks obviously that we we think it might have been a nerve Dam injury situation but the significant change the DraStic change in his shooting mechanics left him to a space to where he couldn’t even see the basket

When he shot okay that’s a basketball reference shift that over to football it’s the same thing it has to be a progressive change when you’re in junior high when you’re in high school the early years of high school any mechanical things need to be incremental like you can’t you you just don’t take

These super Leaps and Bounds as far as things that you not in one offseason not in one off season I just not enough time I don’t care if you’re the you you you could be David Copperfield the greatest one of the greatest musicians I mean um magicians

I think it’s best for Heinrich harberg to look at other options because if you that’s again that’s if you sit down with him and you say hey what do you want to do you want to just stay here do you want to play the next level if you want

To play the next level then you you definitely want to look at a change that might be best for Hiner harberg but is moving him off of quarterback best for Nebraska that’s my question because if it’s not Hinrich harber as your backup it’s another true freshman in Daniel

Kalin who we’ve said on this program is probably a few years away from being a consistent contributor or you’re down to Luke Longville well again I I don’t mind him staying in the position I just saying his mechanics are G obviously if something happens to Dylan Rola you’re you’re in the mix of

Trouble again like you were this year a hodg podge of quarterbacks that don’t do anything specifically well have something like I would have preferred to have had prie back to be honest if you could do it could if it could if you could have made it work uh he

Mechanically seems to be the better the better suited to step in and and fill any any any voids outside of any you another quarterback like you said a togle vioa or if you would have had mcord um I think that would have been the greatest scenario but in the

Meantime in between time this is why Dyan riola to me has to be very astute in throwing balls away sliding keeping himself out of situations and then that Line’s got to be just on point they got to be uh protect this man at all cost you know

What I mean like you can’t have whiffs and and mistakes and I wouldn’t be running him like crazy you know if you’re gonna run rpos and you’re GNA run uh Zone reads and stuff like that if you’re gonna do that cool but I’d be handing that thing off quarterbacks

Would get less carries than they did this year compared to you know what the running back should be getting not even like half as many carries as this year maybe like a third to a quarter as many times as Nebraska carried is kind of where I think that would end up you know

It’s that change up it’s not the it’s not the fast ball it’s not the only thing you go to speaking of quarterbacks R let’s let’s hit this real quick tag of ioa enters the transfer portal the Maryland quarterback but he’s out of Eligibility he’s petitioning the NCAA

For a sixth year waiver the only reason that he has to do that is because as a freshman at Alabama in 2019 he appeared in five games in two of those games he only played two snaps I get why he would seek another year I get tagalo is

Wanting to get him to Miami for business purposes with with his older brother Tua down there the NCA though would had a really dangerous precedent for giving a guy a sixthe waiver just because he wants one we had that we’ve had this discussion before this is one of the

Areas I think that the NCAA is going to hold firm on is not offering and giving waivers easily like it’s got to be like basically probably injury related right like like really injury related where yes you did hit a threshold barely hit the threshold but the injury was so s uh

Was so significant that yes you can offer a raid for somebody but I’m telling you this man if they open that Floodgate it’s going to cause so a ripple effect of trouble all throughout the transfer and the transfer portal uh landscape because that is a precedent

That you’re going to break and if you break it for that then everybody in the past and everybody that you said no to is going to be all types of suits and mean I would leave that one alone if I’m if I’m them I’m

Past it seems to have a lot of complic involved to this one there sure are because there’s no real elite teams right I mean I know that Baltimore and San Francisco clinched the ones already but the two seeds are still up for grabs Kansas City’s locked into the three um

In the AFC but there’s still so much up in the air because there’s not that you know 15-2 14 and three team pretty much everyone is within a game jum just a big jumble yeah within a game of the seat ahead of them or behind them and a lot

Of these teams played each other in the regular season right the way the NFL schedule works is You’ll Play the team in the same you know spot in the standings as you in the other divisions from your conference so a lot of those teams played each other in the regular

Season you see like Indianapolis and Pittsburgh have played they finished in the same spot in their division you know that’s just how how it works out um or maybe that was their division to play either way it’s a jumbled mess you know we have nine of the 14 teams that know they’re

Going to the playoffs but of those nine only three of them know which seed they are again it’s the two one seeds and it’s Kansas City otherwise strick every other game fighting for it there’s something to fight for so here’s the thing and and and it seems to be playing out in a

Similar way Austin um as we’ve been seeing in the NBA where it’s not anybody getting out there and just really running away with it everybody is just kind of you know around the same same you know sphere of each other right I still I think there

Needs to be a study on that because what has created this change of parody is it is it salary cap situations is it the openness of the free agency I mean but we’ve seen free agency and we’ve seen salary caps what is driving force of that I mean this is not a discussion

We’re going to get into now because we’re GNA get into scenarios but it’s an interesting and fascinating uh aspect of it to me that I’m I’m starting to see that I haven’t seen in a while like we’ve seen so much dominance whether it be on one side of the coin yes we’ve

Seen these hod podes of of teams kind of in the mix fighting for certain positions but some reason there’s been a lot of parody as of late there absolutely has been and I think the the talent base the talent pool only continues to grow for the NFL I think

It’s interesting too strict because I think the NFL is in a time of schematic change right right now it’s or for the past few years it’s been an offense focused league but scoring was down across the League this year if you look at Miami like offenses struggled more

This year than they had in the wild like that’s a win for defensive coordinators they back the benefits of the offense having a way better benefit than the defense in this it’s it’s weird it really is because we’ve seen the opposite in the NBA right where scoring

Has gone up and up and up and up basically every year for the last 10 15 years even with all the rule changes for the offenses defenses really did fight back this year which is where you see like Kansas City’s defense Step Up you see Baltimore’s defense really Step Up

Um Detroit before they lost their man in the middle had pretty good defense and it’s just been different than what we’ve seen because it used to be no quarterback play the great equalizer and you still take the great quarterback but as I look at the AFC strict there are so

Many good quarterbacks still in contention and the best quarterbacks in the NFC have their teams already in the playoffs so you’re the teams that don’t have their quarterback locked in in the NFC at least are the ones that are still fighting for their playoff lives well

Let’s dig into it um there’s just one week remaining in the NFL regular season and the playoff picture as we stated and alluded to is is really starting to take its shape um as Ryan had I mean Austin has stated that who is Ryan Ryan uh Matt tanon Hill not Ryan Tan Hill

Leaf n wow Friday yeah yeah I need a sip of wine I haven’t had wine in over a week so there yesterday well yeah a little bit come on stricky uh so anyway we know the teams that have clenched we’ve already established that there are four teams in the AFC right

Now that are sitting at 9 and seven um including a three-way tie at top to South and we talked about the south we knew the South was G to be weird and we didn’t know how it was gonna be funky um in that in that way but let’s let’s

Start off by talking about the game that’s really important to you because I see you got the shirt on today the Houston Texans at 9 and seven they will match up at Indianapolis Saturday at 8:15 here’s what’s at stake Houston can actually clinch the AFC South all they

Gotta do is win all they do is win win win no matter what like DJ Colin said if they win win win they’re in but here’s the deal they can win and get in and if Jackson Field loses in in as well or ties they also could get in how they can

Clinch clinch the birth is by the win or also a Jacksonville loss as well as a Pittsburgh loss that’s how they can actually clinch it without any pro problems or or or circumstance on the other hand Indianapolis they can clinch the AFC South if they win but they need help

That’s the difference and I want to let you talk about it they’re gonna need help they can’t just win this game they have to win and get help on the other side of it as well right and that’s because Jacksonville swept Indie in the regular season which is weird mean it’s

Jacksonville but India’s really struggled with the the Jags over the last you know five six years or so Houston split the season series with him so as long as Houston wins um and then Jacksonville either l or tie Houston has the the tiebreaker there Indie does need

That help which I don’t feel confident in Jacksonville plays the Titans who you mentioned Ryan tanah Hill he’s starting again will Levis has the foot problem I’ve been out Tennessee all year so here’s the thing Jacksonville is winning this game so I chalk this up to it comes

Down to Indian Houston for a wild card spot whichever one of those teams wins is it that’s pretty much what it is it would take a miracle at this point for Pittsburgh to get I know we’ll talk about them here in a sec Pittsburgh needs you know one of those teams to

Lose they need a Jacksonville loss to help them out and there can’t be a tie really for Pittsburgh you know Pittsburgh needs to win and have like two or three other results happen whereas the Colts in Houston as long as they win they’re got yeah they they look

As you st it Pittsburgh needs to go to the altar like they they need to take communion because they’re they need everything to happen for them to get in Steelers have been a beneficiary of help in the past and they been able to get in and make some noise but whether that’s

The case I mean we a even got to talk about it but the fact of the matter is they’re playing Baltimore Baltimore is basically tossing in the in the flag in this one and they’re just saying hey we don’t give a dang about it we’re already solidified in what we’re doing we’re

Double digit players are out so we’re chilling but Pittsburgh needs a miracle they need they need uh they need the help of a higher power to get them in let’s just move past them and get to Miami Miami has a big game and they’re gonna play against Buffalo and my boy

He’s like eh I don’t really want to waste a year after my red shirt so Deuces again 62 220 pounds great size visited Mississippi State already and he’s from Mississippi it’s where he went to high school um that’s another program in a little bit of transition there with

If you started for Tony white before I’d like to think that you know there’s that that it quality about him where you might like him an inch or two taller maybe you know 5 10 pounds lighter probably not going to stretch him out vertically but you might be able to cut

Some weight off of him make him maybe a little better side to side but an experienced guy strick in this system Stefan Thompson to me would seem pretty darn Plug and Play right you don’t want to write off a guy like maai Bayer um jav rght I still don’t know what
