On the 18th hole got an amazing golf course and we’ve got two amazing golf clubs to compare in my hands I’ve got the Ping g430 Max this for us last year in 2023 was the best driver in the world but in 2024 well there’s competition we’ve got the Callaway Paradigm AI smoke

Now we’ve got a new Callaway we got some looks like a bit of new material but we’ll go into that Johnny you like Ping don’t you use ping I do I use I use an old ping driver yeah I use a ping g410 Max currently but looking at the new

Callaway driver um I’m actually a big fan of this kind of marbled detailing on the soul yeah I I mean it could well uh split opinion but I I quite like it’s it’s very different to kind of any of the other drivers on the market at the

Moment if I was being picky the one thing I would change would be on the crown I would have maybe just done away with the AI smoke just to give it a kind of slightly cleaner aesthetic and a cleaner finish but I think overall it’s a really cool looking driver yeah what

Johnny said there is really true and I think although aesthetically we can look at what is essentially shelf appear with these two drivers I think that tops it for sure ping is always a little bit more muted even though the g430 is louder than the other iterations but

This I think is now appealing to a lot of golfers I might say that may not appeal to some older golfers because it’s a bit loud it’s a bit out there for other drivers that are going to be released in 2024 it’s certainly one of the loudest but I think for the most

Interesting point here is when we put these drivers down at a dress because as you said there’s one thing that we both don’t like I don’t feel like the logo of AI smoke is actually that necessary on the crown i r it be minimal yes the Ping

G430 Max has a lot of turbulators and whatnot but the way they sit is drastically different we noticed here that the Callaway Paradigm AI smoke looks a lot more open you can see the face a lot more whereas I would say despite there being a lot of turbulators

And and noise yeah the g430 it’s actually a lot quieter in terms of seeing the face more neutral if not slightly close it’s a positive and a negative I believe I don’t particularly like seeing the face of a driver I like it how the Ping is basically I think

That’s actually way too much in the AO smoke and it’s quite considerably different from the original Paradigm which is quite an interesting change what you I’d like to yeah I know i’ agree I it’s the kind of thing I’d like to see on a hybrid or a fairway wood

Just to give you that like extra bit of confidence that you’re be able to launch it high but with the driver as you’re teeing it up you don’t really need that as much and it it also because as you you might be able to see from the face

It’s quite light and you can see all of these lines and you can see them when you when you are stood at address yeah so it’s something that if people say they don’t like see in the face that is so visible that it’s definitely something to consider but this is all

Aesthetics I wouldn’t say that puts me off by any way but if you are someone who really is let’s say a professional golfer doesn’t want to see the face down at address is something to consider now these drivers being the flagship models are quite similar to each other we’ve

Got AUST waiting adjustable huzzle although we’ve got a bit B front back waiting here too what’s the difference going to be in data and what’s the difference in technology going from 23 model to a 24 model I’m going to jump over to custom golf works now and put

Them through their Paces because I think there actually might be a little bit of a difference interesting what’s that like 38 that’s spin too yeah at that so with the Callaway Paradigm AI smoke with a new technology involved all about this thing here the new face we know

About Jailbreak we know about the AI flash face what they’ve done in 2024 is rather than using computer testing for their artificial intelligence they’ve used inperson testing so with the four models in play the triple diamond the max the maxd and the max fast these are all for different types of players so

The Sweet Spot spot is actually in different locations usually The Sweet Spot would be slap bang in the middle I mean I’ve got no idea I barely find it but with these ones the the thickness across the face is different so essentially CA is saying there are different sweet spots all across the

Face I will say this is not new at all I could go back to Cobra’s hot highly optimized topology it’s just marketed slightly different but if it’s more optimal that’s a good thing which we’ll find out now because I’ve hit this here Cal parm a smoke against the Ping g430

Max which is one of our best drivers of 2024 I will say these probably aren’t the drivers for me I probably need the lower spinning option but if you look at the data here what’s interesting is there is a considerable difference in spin for a faster swing speed you can

See that the ball speed is pretty average I’m very slow today but 3,000 on average for the paradig AI smoke and then 3800 for the Ping g430 Max now the g430 max is all about spin consistency this number 3800 was very consistent across the face but bit too high for me it

Looks like the AI smoke is a bit more optimal I would say I hit them pretty similar maybe the g430 max a little bit worse a bit more into out which could lead to a slightly higher spin rate but I would say in terms of overall feel and

Performance the AI smoke is slightly more optimal you can see here in the graph that the g430 max launched slightly lower was a bit more piercing initially with the launch angle of 12.4 and the AO smoke is 14.8 but with slightly lower spin for the Callaway I could optimize this slightly by perhaps

Maybe lowering the Loft maybe getting an eight or n degree head same goes to the g430 max but it looks like the Ping g430 Max probably better suited towards someone with a slightly slower swing speed whereas by the looks of it the AI smoke despite having a sweet spot for a

Certain type of golfer I could probably put it in Play If I messed about with the settings a quite big difference here at custom golf works but what matters really is the course so myself and Johnny going to head back to lass end of now 18th hole links course let’s see who

Finds the Fairway right Johnny so there is actually a slight difference in data for two driver models that should be quite similar to each other that for me was a little bit lower spinning but in terms of dispersion swings around about so we’re going to put the test now on

The 18th hole the links course at lassi Enda yeah strong strong wind in our face about 20 30 mph so this isn’t a distance thing this is a consistency thing okay it’s playing about I think only 450 yards but obviously with the win it’s probably playing about 850 yards where

You going to aim you got the C first I’m going to aim just kind of in the middle middle of line of that bunker on the right hand side and just try and keep it from out of bounds left on the road yeah we’re not going to talk about that sh that

Is that’s Money money I mean I was pretty happy with that that was really nice I mean in was just too as we said we’re not here to focus on the actual 300 yard drives we’re here to focus on just how consistent you are so let’s see if you

Can repeat that how’s it feel yeah feel good yeah you’re not at all put off by that face no you know what um when it’s actually at dress I know we spoke about the Aesthetics I’m more focused on what I’m actually doing okay than looking at

The face so I I don’t actually find it distracting okay do you find me me distracting here slightly in front of you uh a little bit a little bit okay a really good wind’s got it a little bit that’s fine yeah just throw it down that’s good that’s good quite consistent

Though you’re not you’re not fast no let’s this well go all right I mean the funny thing is so a lot of people say Ping’s heads in terms of the Swing weight feel a lot heavier uh so I’ll be interested to see what your thought is

Obviously the Shar plays uh a factor as well but for an instant change over let’s find out what happens here see how we go on yeah wow a lot more piercing right yeah I will I will that’s carried way further one thing I will say though this this is

Slightly high Loft this is this is 10° compared to 9° but that that is a little bit more piercing which is quite funny considering I’m saying that that driver spins a little bit more for me there’s a difference though because I’m swinging about 120 you’re swinging about wow 104

There that bit faster big Improvement yeah swing it feel any difference I guess it does I like yeah it just feels it just feels a bit more solid more stable that’s okay near left oh simp just just on the C path I think that’s that’s okay though

So what’s interesting about that one is perhaps maybe for the max for a medium swing speed the num will be a little bit more um similar whereas I feel like once noticeably lower flight as well yeah exactly well I’m going to say that probably a littleit little bit down to

The Loft but also a little bit down to maybe because that that drive was maybe a little bit more suited towards you yeah but what’s interesting is this was probably more consistent for you with overall dispersion so let’s do an instant change over and let’s take a

Proper hacker to have a go with it that’s not will by the way on camera that’s me uh do you want your big T I would like my big boy T thank you I am not a high wind player so I just want to keep it in play

So you you know it’s so funny just how you can instantly tell the difference there it’s F that’s fine that was a really nice shot I’m hitting I’m hitting draws which is great I mean the funny thing is with the LST I’m slightly less inclined to hit a draw with it probably

A bit more neutral the max is a little bit more of a straight to draw bias not that much but we can see with a shot Tracer there so your max was yeah mine was yeah so let’s let’s hit one more towering ball flight still managed to

Get so I I guess with this video we’re using the max it’s the best driver in the world of 2023 I would probably be suited towards the LST and that’s when you go into these iterations available to them but there may be another ping driver coming soon that’s just

Completely squashes all of that Stuff oh my God it’s to the Moon you see what I mean that’s fine yeah it’s fine back a bit yeah absolutely it’s gone it’s gone nowhere it’s gone like 99 distance in the air but I mean I hit those quite well I actually can see there not that

One there’s a t- marker just here that’s straight in the middle H them well dispersion okay I like I take those two on a windy day like today I’m in the Fairway roughish uh but I mean yeah without without the wind they would have been closer together as well let let me

Hit the Callaway now and then we’ll see cuz I think now my thing is okay distance wind’s coming in play dispersion let’s find out right I’m interested to see how you make of this yeah me too actually I mean there is aight a different head shape the uh the

Carbon Crown reminds me a little bit of the uh the Sim 2 and the Sim in terms of the actual materials but then the shaping of it almost reminds me of a mix between the rogest T and like a tsr2 so there’s a lot of good things there yeah

Yeah which means Fu the Fairway right how do now just quickly before you hit when you set up set up to to address the ball sure little waggle yeah what what do you think of the uh the face fine yeah fine yeah with the Shadows on it as well but it’s fine

Stay yeah yeah it’s fine going to knock it the wind very very similar to the Ping there but I’ll take that finished that’s finished about 3T away from the Ping consistency yeah I’ll be honest that wasn’t a good swing that would have been slightly out to in a little bit but

It held up okay my my natural shot shape is a draw sorry this ball is very muddy um but it’s uh for that to still be in the Fairway still have a chance it’s good and that’s what I’m kind of thinking towards with these two drivers I would actually think this driver might

Be a little bit more forgiving yeah which is crazy considering ping is renowned for being that coupled up with low spin as well it could be an absolute beast but then again the low spin is just for me Swinging it at 120 mph compared to I think for you it’s more

It’s more comparable isn’t it okay let me just let this walk all all of our all of our drives interestingly have finished right side yeah which is weird and considering we both hit a draw yeah I mean maybe the wind has a bit of part of play but maybe

I I don’t think these are draw bias in a sense you know ping have the SF Tech which is the most draw bias Club on the planet you will not hit a fade with that whereas this also has the max fast and Max D so we’ also got it set at neutral

Haven’t we with the weight completely yeah so I mean maybe with this we be like okay let’s set the Loft down open the face up then move the the weight to make it draw so it makes a bit more of a low spinning Beast come on that’s the shot that’s the

Shot I’m really happy with that yeah that’s the shot of the day it’s gone bloody nowhere 118 Club I mean what’s interesting is it’s a perfect flight that yeah a little bit little bit there 220 yards that’s gone yeah which is good but straight out the middle nice draw

That is kind of the perfect shot and that’s actually what I saw quite consistently at Custom Golf Works actually quite a nice little draw I hate that right shot I really do so I mean there’s not to consider there isn’t it yeah I I don’t think there’s a huge

Amount between them in terms of performance personally I no I don’t I think it changed person to person I think I’ve seen a bit of a difference but you haven’t so for once Johnny I’m really happy you’re here oh than so let’s let’s go talk about our final

Thoughts of these two drives sounds good yeah so Johnny ping 2023 Callaway 2024 we’ve got a Year’s difference between these releases is there any difference which one is the best oh which one’s the best is quite a loaded question it is I would say in terms of performance from

What we’ve seen there’s not a huge amount in it sure okay in terms of Aesthetics this is kind of a proven formula already been popular with consumers I think the AI smoke might potentially be a bit of a Marite Club um I actually really like the design but

There are a few aesthetic details that I think might just be a bit of an issue for some people but I think overall the the kind of marbled design they’ve gone for on the soul is really really lovely and the crown itself carbon we’ve seen it before and we love it but yeah

Overall been yeah really impressed with both yeah I think it’s weird cuz I also think that that is somewhat of a Marite Club but I’ve yet to find someone who is on the negative side of it I think everyone’s I really like it so that that’s good so far perhaps as I said

Earlier I think the older demographic may not like it it is quite loud but if you are the older demographic and like the design let me know down in the comments so for me I’m going be a little bit more opinionated as to what’s better

Or what’s worse cuz I found a little bit more of a difference in the data testing when the club speed is a little bit higher I found that the Callaway Paradigm AI smoke spy a little bit more optimally compared to the Ping G4 30 Max

Was a little bit too high spin for those faster swing speeds that leads me to believe the models of the paradig AI smoke are probably a little bit more broader so with the Ping I would say anyone with a K speed of over 105 would probably go straight to the LST whereas

With the Paradigm smoke it’s it’s not it’s not as divisive I could probably be fit for any of those and still get quite low spin which is an OD to what I think they’ve done with the new paradigms AI smoke the old Paradigm it was a very

Similar to the Ping g430 I would not use anything other than the triple diamond so I feel like for me there’s a bit of a difference but probably for the everyday golfers I would say it’s more aesthetical right I think it’s more what you prefer down at a dress looks wise

Which there is a big difference and then again you shouldn’t buy clubs based purely on Aesthetics so at the end of the day if you do think it’s a bit loud take it for a test because the performance is yeah speaks for itself yeah absolutely if you don’t like that
