Right golfers I’m going to share with you today the reason you can’t turn through the ball you can’t open your hips and turn through it like you see from some of the world’s best players when they get in those lovely opened positions that impact I’ve done this with quite a few students recently
Shared these kind of three ideas I’m going to share with you today and it fixed and helped each one of them understand why they couldn’t turn their hips and how to change it now if you like the information in this video hit the like button down below it helps the
Channel also down in my description down there there’s a link to my Weekly Newsletter it’s absolutely free come and join the community people learning great stuff every week it’s complete exclusive content so idea number one the reason lots of you get so bunged up down at impact you get into this kind of
Crumbled stuck lower half just kind of gives up it’s because your upper half runs away from your lower half and we see this time and time again from students so what I mean by this is we see students make quite restricted back swing with their upper body hips go a
Little bit but not big shoulder turns then what they do is they’re making their back swing or completing their back swing their shoulders really start to open up on the way down this is why we see the club come often over this way now if the student then was to really
Open their hips like you see the good players do it’s not going to hit the ball so we see this kind of not much shoulder turn early shoulder turn on the way down and then the hip stall to try to line everything up high handle crumbling arms those kind of ideas and
We get those stuck impact so like with lots of things in golf to fix the result so the resulting action that we see you need to look before and fix what’s happening before cuz everything’s like a chain reaction of events so we need your back swing to have a little bit of
Better order going into your down swing so believe it or not the best way and one of the certainly the main ways to start fixing a better impact position is to make sure the back swing is giving you the chance the opportunity to make the better down swing and that’s often
The problem so I want you to try on your back swing to make a bigger shoulder turn make sure you make a full big upper body turn chest starts feeling like it’s coming to back camera back starts feeling like it’s going to the screen and at the same time feel like you keep
Your hands away from you this bigger shoulder turn will help get the order of the downswing in a better place to allow you to really start driving your hips out now in turn with this better back swing we need to try and start the down
Swing this way I want you to feel the down swing is back to Target for longer so to get your hips rotating through better you actually need to leave them in the back swing for longer so on the down swing you need to still feel like you’re almost leaving your hips there
For a nan to allow them to actually spring out rather than the shoulders running away and the hips not allowed to go now was you’re going to miss it and then stalling creating these crashes is so we’re going to use our perspective to fix this what’s always interesting with
Golf is that when you teach a lot you start learning there’s two forwards you say a student to do something forwards put a foot forwards what that means if you think about it is there’s a forwards so I’m inting the ball forwards so I can put my foot forwards wide stance and
There is a forwards where I’m looking where I’m facing cuz I’m facing this way the ball so does facing forwards mean this way so the reason I say that is you going to make your big shoulder turn with some arm and stretch on the way
Back now on the down swing I want you to turn with your head so not your body you don’t need to turn your body anymore you’re literally going to swivel your head on your neck and look at your hands and look where your body is facing and I
Want you to feel as you start your down swing that you bring your hands and arms down while keeping your back and hips feeling like they stay to the Target for longer what this will do from here is make you have to open up turn through get through that down swing by leaving
It that Split Second later encourages often the student to be far more active with their H their hips and actually drives them to make the movement we want so we’re getting them to make the movement we want by changing what happens before a giving them the opportunity and B giving them the reward
The inspiration the reason to open their hips cuz remember most golfers who get this bunched up non-turn through position is cuz their shoulders run away and then their hips can’t they’ve got no incentive they’re not allowed to go cuz they wouldn’t hit the ball they have to
Stall to line things up we’re changing that order big back swing turn and face your arms watch them come down from back here feel your shoulders hips stay back to Target a bit more don’t need to hit the ball turn back to the ball and spring around really feel like you try
And get out of that hit position that’s the first trigger now number two we need you burying in lead foot so it connects to the back back swing down swing change but I want you on the down swing to feel like you are literally burying all your
Pressure all your weight all your energy down into this lead foot now to help you do this I want you to excessively Bend this lead knee so the way we’re going to do that is we’re going to really Bend lead knee so excessively do it overdo the feeling feeling like we’re really
Burying in the lead knee watch out makes me come down it keeps my back to the Target for longer and then I to hit the ball I don’t want to crash into the ground from there feel that knee bounce back and the ground push back and get
You out of there that again will allow most golfers to start using their body way better because we see so many golfers literally just staying in lead knee they don’t bury that hard in it and they just stay in there to hit the ball which stalls rotation we need to be
Getting into that lead knee and really feel like you’re pushing down for it to then push back and that ground to push back to allow you to Spring out cuz one of the key things we find from better players is they have a very sharp when
You look at their swings on a graph form where they go so slower to faster if you like to keep it basic so zero this is going slower this is going faster we see with their hips a real sharp uptake in their downswing meaning from around here they’re really violently throwing their
Hips around with tilt to get out of those hips where with amers we see these kind of lines which are much more subtle because they’re a not slowing down and B not speeding up now these two swing fors can work together they work as one big shoulder turn watching that down swing
As I do that I’m going to feel like I’m really pushing into Lead Foot and then out I could even hit shots like that I won’t be able to watch my back swing so I’m going to feel like I’m in I’m going to hit the ground here unless
I jump and spring out and you’re going to find if you do this drill where you excessively Bend this knee excessively push down to try and get push back you will hit the ground you will hit tops the idea is for you not to hit perfect shots it’s to feel you really
Aggressively push and jump they’re the movements we need now the last drill this one really helps students at the range on the course but at home practice these ideas as well so the last one is giving you a feeling of getting tilts with turns cuz this is what really helps
Golfers what happens is their hips tend to get a little bit level on the turn as they stall and then they kind of sway what I want you to feel is that you’re actually getting good amounts of tilt with your hips as they’re rotating it’s this that’s really going to get you into
These much better tall player turns and if you think about if you’re loading into that lead foot and then the ground’s pushing back at you your lead leg hips going up as your Trail one goes down which sends that club down creating those brilliant compression ball bend
Turf lovely strikes works with a driver as well if the ball position is forward obviously you get past the bottom point and get it on the way up so I’m standing to a ball I’m just putting the grip across my thighs stopping my thighs here
Most of the club out to the trail side of me and what I’m going to do is try and hit that ball with that club obviously the ball’s not going to reach or the club’s not going to reach the ball but I am going to get it to feel
Like it’s passing over from my perspective if I was to just Sway and slightly rotate my hips get stuck right here if I was to lean back and kind of spin out get stuck out this way way I’m going to feel that my hips are rotating at the same time with lots of
Tilt this is again going to help me get so back swing into this leg and up and out and the quicker better you get that this jumping out that’s when you start seeing that lead foot jump out and move back this is where we start seeing these tall like impacts
Strong strikes and shots with good direction that are going to help so many golfers you can do this with all clubs if you want to find out how to hit your driver better though this video’s got a lot more information on what we’re talking about that might just help you out
