Now we are about Thursday and what’s going to happen today as we head into this weekend of conference play back to the Big 10 a big 10 that again saw Nebraska Victorious last night so Ohio State have to hang on to beat ruter well now we have Penn State and Michigan

State and look at that Michigan state who’s had their struggles seems to have found some things they are laying 13 tonight at home with a total of 146 Jeff Nao you’re going to kick the show off with an official play what is that I’m curious on what you like today

Tonight Spartans and NY Lions the dog in this game um you know I I thought thought Penn State was a team that I didn’t think was that bad coming into the season you know I think we kind of have to put someone at the bottom of this conference and there are certain

People that will put Penn State there but I think the truth is this is a good basketball team I I think they have a lot of ability on defense I think matchup wise in this game it probably lends pretty well they have good guards defensively and I think they can handle

The strength of Michigan State’s team which is the guards as well um I think if you’re Penn State the goal is keeping Michigan State from the rim which is what they try to want to do on a regular basis and Penn State does a nice job in

The half court they have plenty of kids that can turn you over and you look at this roster it’s pretty solid I mean you have a bunch of really good players in this team they had a good transfer hall for Mike rhods the former VCU coach and

You look at what they do on defense typical Mike rhods you know forc turnovers ninth and American uh turnover percentage on defense they they get their hands in there and they turn you over I just looked at this game and felt like this was a few too many points this

Number’s come down a little bit from the open it was 14 now it’s 13 I would have like to have gotten that number but it is what it is um if done anything above 10 I’ll take a shot here I just don’t think Penn State’s that bad we’ve

Obviously see Michigan State struggle in Big 10 games to start the season of lost both their matchups I believe in the Big 10 um I think you only think they lose here but I thought this is too many points yeah again for Michigan State they seem to have F found their footing

In that game in Detroit right around uh Christmas right before Christmas uh where they blasted Baylor uh but again this is a program that lost right off the bat to James Madison we mentioned they lost at Nebraska previously Kyle any thoughts here Jeff is liking the the doggy any thoughts here including about

Michigan State have they corrected some things or are they in for a tough night what do you think I mean I agree with Jeff that uh Penn State is better than some people think even the bottom of the Big 10 this year is is pretty solid I

Think a pretty good conference and Penn State to me uh rhs has his team playing hard I think they’ll play all the way through the game they did lose in overtime at Maryland we don’t have a big sample size on them away from home so far this year but

Michigan State as Jeff said has tripped up some home already this year they lost to James Madison they lost it home to Wisconsin um Michigan State off those three good showings or four good showings in a row but are they going to be able to consistently play at that

High of a level I’ll say that in this one my numbers told me take the under do struggle with Michigan State totals um is’s teams are very inconsistent they’ll push the pace in some gam slow things down uh pretty much just stayed away from Michigan State totals in general

Because they can be pretty inconsistent they’ve been very good defensively Penn State doesn’t want to run so I’m curious in this one to see if Michigan State runs with them or if they slow it down um like I said I lean to the under here in this one don’t really have anything

Too much on the side but I would tend to agree that this is quite a few points for Michigan State to be lay mind okay and this is just a kind of a a disclaimer H can State either loses or win by 20 okay you look at all their wins only one

Didn’t come by more than 12 okay they’ve they’ve blown every team out they’ve beaten and the other games they’ve lost so I’m kind of hoping that now that they’re in the Big 10 play it’ll kind of come down a little bit and this is just

I was just going to say with that with that kind of mindset how tenuous is it to go against them uh when they win by margin when they win big you obviously are going against it but that is interesting how you pointed it out it’s it’s a huge swing in variance for them

Uh this is in Sun Bel action play James Madison remains undefeated they lay six on the road what a story JMU has been in both football now and in basketball to total 157 in this game all right Kyle here we are back to conference play and it’s a new conference for James Madison

As well they are not long-term members of the Sun Belt trying to get used to playing all these different schools give me a thought or two and an official play on the Dukes James Madison Dukes on the road at Louisiana yeah TJ James Madison’s a good team definitely very good team I still

Think the market is getting a little bit too high on them um this is a James Madison team shot quality has them as the sixth luckiest team in the country so far this year they’re just 199th in shot selection allowed so I think their defensive numbers are probably going to

Regress some uh at some point here Bob Marlin’s a good coach for Louisiana I think this is a team that’s been a bit underrated a lot of these years the cinjun Dome a pretty good home court advantage a really big place compared to

A lot of the others in the Sun Belt um I think Louisiana has a nice little spot here where they’ve played the 104th toughest schedule so far this year James Madison 327 we remember James Madison winning those big big games at the beginning of the season but they haven’t

Played anybody good since then since November 22nd nobody ranked higher than 184th in Kim Palms rankings have they played so a lot of bad teams here lately the Morgan States the teams like that so I think this is a good spot for Louisiana catching six points at home

I’m not saying Louisiana is going to win this game but I think this game goes down to the end here where it’s the last couple uh possessions matter in this one so I’m going to take the points here James Madison a very good team I just think they’re a bit overvalued based on

Not played anybody in a very long time um this is the this is one of the better teams they’re going to play in two month you know month and a half I mean this is really a rough for jamu that said it does seem like anytime Louisiana plays

Any team that plays with Pace I me they have really major issues defensively and ceto right State Sanford all put up uh 85 or more against this group and you know there might be no better team playing with Pace than JMU that’s a bit concerning to me it makes me kind of

Want to lean over in this game I feel like one of the issues JMU has I don’t think they’re great defensively as Kyle kind of talked about I think maybe the numbers are a bit skewed they’ve been a bit lucky um I think if you like jamu or

You like the dog you probably have to lean over as well they’re going to have to score to stay in this game I kind of felt like this game was first to 80 wins but I think it’s a kind of a stub your toe spot eventually for for jamu they

Game North Texas new members of the American Athletic Conference this one at Witchita Witchita favored by a point and a half and a total of 132 Kyle Hunter we are back to you for some analysis and youve got another official play on this one what stood out about Witchita State

And the Mean Green TJ and Jeff uh we know North Texas play slow I mean uh they change coaches they play the same way they’re 360th out of 362 teams in the country in Tempo they slow the game down regardless of who they play against wiah State 112th in

Average possession length so relatively quick team but if you look at who they’ve played against the Western Kies of the world Coastal Carolina Missouri Kansas lots of teams that want to run that’s not what they’re playing here against this one I think they’re skew they’re skewed a bit too high high

Scoring if you look at who they play against because of uh their matchups have been against those fast-paced teams and if you look at wit to State really good at defending the three-point line North Texas takes a lot of Threes they’re going to settle for those outside jumpers on offense which to

State they’ve really relied on Second Chance opportunities to score North Texas excellent defensive rebounding team with both teams in the top 52 um in effective field goal percentage defense I’m going to take the under here in this one I think think the tempo will be slower unless these teams are knocking

Down a ton of shots I think 132 and a half is a little bit too high so I think this one is a few points too high I had this one in the 128 range so I’m going to take under 132 and a half for this

Game Jeff some thoughts on this one uh North Texas Grant McCaslin perennially an NCA caliber team out of Conference USA now playing witch to State I saw some of the witch to State Kansas game they kind of hung in with Kansas before uh full in that was on the neutral floor

In Kansas City any thoughts on this one with wiah stayed at home it’s funny I actually was going to put this one on the sheet um but I ended up taking another one and I figured cop maybe would and he ended up doing it I agree

1,00% I think this is a game that’s played to you know 60 I think this is a a kind of a rock fight you know walking the ball up the court you when you look at a lot of witch’s opponents I mean let’s just be honest I mean a lot of

High-powered offense is in that grouping you got Liberty you got South Dakota State Kansas State Kansas Missouri Richmond St Louis lip scum West Kentucky all those teams are either fishing offensively or play really fast I think this is exactly the type of game they want get it into the half court defend

Two really Elite defensive teams and as Kyle alluded to it really doesn’t matter whether it’s Grant mastan or Ross hodj remember Ross Hodge was a assistant of mastan so he’s going to play essentially the same type of way walking the ball up the court I think this is very similar

To the forom game first of 60 wins uh Mississippi State game low scoring there as well I think they got the 126 in that game this is one of your Rock fight um American Athletic Conference games where I think as long as you avoid overtime I

Think you’re going to get a winner here um yeah I was wondering if you were going to live play it are you are you trying to talk yourself into the live play on the under or not yet not yet you’re not there I to to just foreshadow I actually have

Here against Colorado in conference Big Man start the discussion let’s go to you to start the discussion first thoughts on this uh tonight in Pack 12 Play including a total of 161 and a half any thoughts on Arizona back at home yeah I mean whenever I look at Arizona game um

And this is probably to the end of the season quite honestly um I’m going to look over the total I mean they are just built to go over they don’t defend this is a bad Colorado defense I’m just going to say it and you look at both these

Teams it’s all going to be downhill up and down I think this is a frantic Pace neither these teams shoot threes in fact I think they’re both in the bottom 30 in America in three-point attempts um they just don’t shoot it it’s downhill getting to the 10 getting to the line

Creating high percentage opportunities you have plenty of t uh a lot of talent all over the court here I just don’t see where these games are lows scoring and we’ve seen a lot of the time in these big matchups for like an Arizona or

Alabama a lot of the time when you see a 160 162 these games are flying over I always go back to the game involving um uh Alabama where I think the teams combined like for 12 for 57 from three and they still got like bricks a lot of

Bricks but they still scored yes two point yes they scored 51 points over the final 10 minutes of the game like the this game’s going to be I think back and forth very frantic very high powerered up and down um especially Arizona off a game where they gave up a hundred I mean

They’ve had a 100 on one team in both of the last two games one team has gotten 100 so yeah I like the over I don’t I don’t really want to deviate much away from that when they play again for Arizona going back as Kyle mentioned to

Their Wisconsin game in December 98 in that game 8 4 in the loss to Purdue see if we see a trend 87 in the win over Alabama that game was in Phoenix uh the Florida Atlantic game was a it was an overtime and may have been a double

Overtime game they got 95 in that game they scored a 100 on Stanford after that have have we heard anything not in the High Point totals and then Stanford surprised them in uh Northern California and Palo Alto and beat him 100 to 82 but they got 82 in that game all right Kyle

Some thoughts here including Jeff saying take a strong look at the over and points points points here especially with Colorado’s defense any thoughts from you Kyle yeah I mean guys this one’s been bet down too it didn’t mean it’s betting the under that’s for sure

It’s down to 159 just in the last few minutes um you know I couldn’t bet an under with Colorado and Arizona I think the pace will be really quick here Kristen to Silva questionable I know some beat Riders made it sound like he might not play again in this one for

Colorado I think he he’s really needed they need some height in there because Arizona has a lot of tall tall guys I think it’s a pretty good bounceback spot for Arizona based on uh ugly loss there to end out 2023 so I would lean Arizona this is just a big number I think

Arizona’s going to get their points maybe even Arizona team total over but this one’s gone from Arizona minus 9 and a half to 12 and a half at the same time you’ve seen the total go down usually you don’t see those go two different directions like that so it’s interesting

I think there are people guessing that Colorado will still be short-handed here in this game I would lean Arizona I think will get their points probably at least get in the upper 80s or so so that would be my lean here in this game something tells me the Arizona rolls

Here like by 20 and and you know we kind of say oh they beat a good team but H there’s a there’s a mark because Colorado didn’t have anybody Colorado might get torched defensively and that might be the side you go with as kutu team tutle over with Arizona maybe

Colorado doesn’t pick up the slack and and they only put up like 70 you know that could be possible again for Colorado they have w six straight they beat the two Washington teams uh that came in last uh weekend for the for the first Pack 12 games um and let’s see

What KJ Simpson and Company have on the road here we expect a high-scoring game Colorado Arizona this is 7:30 uh mountain time in uh in Arizona or Arizona time and 9:30 Eastern Time on ESPN Tonight interesting we keep talking about the end of some of these matchups

Like Cal beating UCLA that’s not going to be a Pack 12 matchup anymore because the pack 12’s going away and UCLA’s in the Big 10 and Cal’s now going to be in the ACC in this case Colorado and Arizona in subsequent years will be a big 12 game they both have moved into

The rubber kind of meets the road when these teams kind of get together and Lola’s kind of uh stumbled a bit you know before and after Christmas I think they kind of get back on the the horse tonight I would probably lean them here

At home this is a coin flip game um but again a lot of the times in these types of matchups the home team is is where I want to go especially in the first game that they’re going to play um it’s it’s coin flippy to me Kyle real quick the

Total is like 148 148 and a half is that about where it should be Santa Clara loyal to marmount this one just a little bit over the total so that would be my Leen Santa clir has really tall team that’s their big advantage in a game

Like this is interior uh they got the seven-footer they several guys you know 69 610 so we’ll see if lyo can handle that size on the inside I do think both offenses can have some success game like this so I would lean to the over also at

Better at home I do lean Utah but it’s six or six and a half I see both out there is that too many points to be laying on the road here I don’t know I lean the UT I can’t pull the trigger big man any thought Arizona State at home in
