Right away okay we have to show everyone this one so Rick for those golfers who early release who are swinging at the ball not past the ball can you show us the sort of upside down drill and then we’ll talk through it a little bit what’s amazing about this is the dynamic
And the swing and and where the speed should be we know that a person that uncocks the wrist they’re trying to hit the ball they’re trying to hit at the ball and all their speed is up here and then they have nothing left right and they break down an impact hitting it fat
Hitting it thin so contact all the time yeah the contact’s awful because they’re so quick in the uncocking of the wrist because they’re trying to hit at it not through it so if you do this and you video I’ve done a lot of video with people you take the club upside down
I’ve got it here left arm only first okay right hand here and you go back and you create a good L here I’ve set the club the arm is swinging back and now I want all my speed as I start to move to the left through the ball and I go this
Way do you hear the whistle is here it’s impossible if you throw it you’ll never hear it in here so I love it because it’s basically lead arm you’ve got a good angle here that you’ve created you pivot your body and you create arm speed through the ball you see and Rick

My lead side of my body I feel like I’m going forward and sort of turning around getting like getting my almost my left side out of the way is the sensation I get that’s what you’re you’re feeling the right thing and honestly and you saw me play couple holes sure I think that’s
Something I probably stay a little too closed with that right right and the body shutting down making that happen the body has to support the arm swing through the body has to support the arm so if I’m doing no body motion I can try and create the speed all day yeah no

Normal swing I’m still feeling kind of the shifting and turning and then I’m getting a sensation almost like that club head is like releasing a few feet out there absolutely it almost feels like if you threw the club it would go that way the target most people would
Throw the club and it hit back there that we’re trying to get that divot out in front I will say I noticeably feel like my left side of my torso is a lot more open than I probably would normally get that’s a good way that’s that’s
Going to help you to get the bottom of the Ark forward like it like it should be right and so let me go ahead and hit this and feel real smooth and transition and then feel the speed through not out there it is look how straight you hit it
Yeah that feels solid best you ever seen or that’s close okay not bad so like’s up here when someone’s doing this Rick when they’re going through it because I think a lot of you you bring up an interesting point with this with the hitting at the ball not through
The ball are you thinking with this that hey even just conceptually when a golfer not only gets a feel that they can take but just conceptually like hey let me swing this thing out this way that’s right versus them going down at that makes him want to move forward and you
Know I’m a field player I’m not a person that likes to think about a lot of words or positions this is really helpful and just feel that again do the same swishes through it’s fantastic I definitely noticeably like I think I turn a decent amount but I you know I sometimes will
Get a little bit stalled out here and I’ll have the hands thrown so if you guys are doing this and feeling this and what would you say when they’re doing this they can kind of do like do a set of reps hit a ball do a set of absolutely and when they practice
Instead of hitting a million balls you just you you take your time hitting balls tiger Jack they had 50 60 balls they’re not hting 400 they’re not getting a large bucket 150 balls at the r no they’re they’re taking their time doing whatever they’re doing so and
They’re doing slow reps and then they start to do things that help their mind and body to change that’s how we do it that’s how we get better you guys heard it here first Mr Rick Smith Hall of Famer work with some of the best golfers
