Nick Carter Ends His Silence Following the Death of His Sister
Nick Carter is breaking his silence for the first time since the tragic death of his younger sister, Bobby Jean. On December 30th, the Backstreet Boy member took to Instagram, sharing a video of his son, Odin, playing golf. In the clip, Nick encourages his son with words like “great shot” and “great shot,” accompanied by the simple caption “cherishing these moments.”
The 43-year-old father is currently mourning the loss of his sister Bobby Jean, who passed away last week. According to TMZ, the 41-year-old was found unresponsive in the bathroom of her Tampa, Florida home on December 23rd. Despite the efforts of first responders and being rushed to the hospital, she was sadly declared dead. Bobby Jean is survived by her 8-year-old daughter, Bella, and the cause of her death is currently unknown.
This heartbreaking loss comes as the Carter family is still recovering from the death of Aaron, Nick’s brother, who died in November 2022 from an accidental drowning in a bathtub after taking Xanax and huffing compressed air, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and Coroner.
Nick Carter spoke exclusively with E! News last month about how he’s coping with his brother’s death, expressing disbelief, especially during the holidays. He shared his struggle to comprehend that Aaron is truly gone and how he’s still processing the whole situation. Nick emphasized the difficulty of accepting that he can no longer reconcile with his brother, a process he finds painful.
In the interview, Nick also opened up about how the loss has intensified his commitment to being the best father he can be for his children, Odin, CA, and Pearl, with wife Lauren Kitt. He emphasized that his children are his everything, stating that even if he lost everything else, as long as he had his family, he would be okay. Nick expressed his focus on being present with his children, attending parent-teacher conferences, driving them to school, participating in Halloween, and striving to be the best father possible.
