The Detour is the newest disc in James Conrad’s line of discs from MVP, and it is absolutely amazing. I put it through its paces at a technical, wooded course here in the Atlanta area, so you can see if you need one as well.

Hey everybody welcome back to peachy disc golf today I am here at East Roswell Park we are going to be doing a little one dis challenge for nine holes using only this the new James Conrad detour let’s see how it goes so in one of my recent videos I did
A little challenge video using the disc that I got in my gyro paloa box from 2023 and I said that the disc that I was most excited for was this the James Conrad detour Neutron plastic here this is a disc that mvp says slots right in
Between the axium hex and the MVP Uplink The Detour has the numbers 55 -21 the hex is 5511 and the Uplink is 553 0.5 so those numbers check out to me I only got to throw this disc for one hole but I did really enjoy the flight so today
We’re going to be putting it through its pce a little bit we’re going to be playing the front nine here using only the detour and yeah really looking forward to seeing how it flies on different shot shapes actually give it a chance on several holes rather than just
The one that I got to try it on first so let’s head to Hole one and see how this disc flies Okay hole one 270 ft par three basket is going to be straight ahead a little bit off to the right not too much it’s mostly a straight shot
From here on the short te basically what we’re going to do is t- shots and anywhere outside of circle two we’re going to be going with the detour and then Circle two and in I’ll be able to use my normal putter so for this shot I’m actually just going to try to throw
It nice and flat see if we get a little turn out of it that would be nice we don’t want it to completely turn over to the right but I don’t think the detour is going to do That that was so good that’s almost Center Fairway I think it still faded off a little bit to the left oh that’s such a good disc luckily this tree isn’t blocking me too much I do kind of have to flex it around a little bit but I think we can get
There oh I Juiced that no problem let’s go whole two is 182 ft Par 3 the basket is a little bit off to the left I think I have it framed between some trees so there’s two lines here we can go straight ahead a little heer finish
Or you can go down the left Gap here with either a forehand or a turnover the forehand I think is usually a little bit easier and more open but I don’t really want to forehand this disc my forehand is already bad enough and this I pretty
Sure would just flip over we could try a turnover to see how long it holds the turn that might be fun but I think the better line with the detour just straight ahead put probably put a little bit of heer on it uh-oh that was the luckiest throw I’ve ever
Done okay got a really lucky kick towards the basket still short but let’s see can we capitalize on a lucky break no oh that was terrible little left little low there it goes oh dang hole three is 309 ft Par 3 basket is Straight Ahead this is one of
The more open holes here at East Roswell so basically I know for fact I can’t get the detour anywhere close to 309 but if I can get past the second Tree on the left that would be pretty solid easy approach from there and my goal is to
Sort of throw this flat at that tree have a little bit of turn to the right and hopefully end up in the middle of the Fairway oh good luck seeing this shot the sun is right in my eyes here yep got past that’s the tree I wanted I
Aimed it a little further right than I wanted more Central down the Fairway but it does not turn over that much there is a little bit of turn I am planning on doing sort of a comparison video with the detour against some other similarly numbered discs the first one that came
To mind is the buzz SS I’m pretty sure the numbers are identical and the buzz SS I believe has a bit more stability where it just sort of goes straight with a little bit of fade not really any turn for my arm speed so definitely be sure
To subscribe and look out for that video in the future this actually was a great throw I can definitely get a driver closer but not by that much honestly this is a really nice nice flight still outside Circle too though or way past the basket no okay good
Tree glad to get an easy tap in starting with two three Pars in a row whole four is a perfect shape I think for the detour here we’re looking at 225 ft par three the basket is straight ahead now it is tucked away in a Grove of trees it kind
Of looks pretty empty here in the winter but there are a lot of little skinny trees there and the opening sort of shapes where you want it sort of as a little turnover left to right motion so that’s pretty nice here with the detour put a little bit of anheiser on it let’s
See how it turns I threw that way low but it just held the line that I put it on really nicely it didn’t want to like burn over or anything that is a very controllable understable disc if I would have given this more height we would have had a
Really easy birdie I think this disc was really shaping up nice it even was starting to pan flat which was going to be perfect just coasting on towards the basket H if only I gave it more height oh my god let’s go whole five 250 ft par three we got three options my
Usual play is to go down the right Gap with something overstable that it go straight and fade towards the basket I’m probably still going to do that with the detour but just with some Hiser on it if you’re a a big baller you can go straight ahead through the middle the
Skinniest Gap or a forehand or turnover on the left gap which is probably the smarter play with the detour but we’re going to go down my normal right Gap here I’m going to try my best to get out of the way here that’s going to be short oh yeah super short
Apparently I got a really gnarly roll away way off to the left Here oh my God I’m On Fire Let’s Go P six 241 ft par three the basket is Straight Ahead uh sort of tucked behind a little cluster of trees here I actually think this would be a pretty good disc for this hole I don’t think I
Have the arm speed to get it 241 ft uphill but if you do have the arm speed I think this will be a great little disc for it if you just sort of throw straight at this little cluster of trees you’ll get a little bit of turn out of
It hopefully to go around so I’m going to throw this flat at those trees I just need to try to make sure to give it the Height ah too much Heiser on that o big kick left and downhill a little oh no okay that’ll work but that did not Heiser as much as I wanted got some sirens in the background but little tap in here whole 7 285 ft par three the basket
Is going to be through this initial Gap and then off a little bit to the left this is probably my favorite hole here at East Roswell Park but it is a tricky little shot basically we’re going to take the detour here we’re going to try to throw it straight through that little
Gap there and if we can just make it through get on that little pateau we be in good shape from there you do not want to kick off left because it is in anant death down there that is a guaranteed bogey at a minimum that is
Perfect a little off to the right that is a laser beam disc this is one hole where I wish I would have had something like the hex at least where I could throw it full power and not worry about it turning yeah yeah you can see the hex definitely
Has more stability it does not want to flip up for me at all but that’s honestly a a good little onew punch combo don’t forget in our next video I am going to be doing sort of a three dis challenge using the hex The Detour and
The Uplink be sure to subscribe for that video all right so here’s the basket The Detour off to the right and then very similar distance we have the hex off to the left so really both of those are great compliments for each other I
Think oh no fade in front of that okay I am not approaching well very fortunate result [Applause] here whole eight we’re at the middle Tad here it’s sort of a newer T position there’s no T sign for it but we’re probably just over 300 ft to the basket
It is a par 4 because basically you’re going to throw it halfway down and then from there it’s just a 90° to the right in order to get to the basket the normal play is to go with the forehand to get up towards the short te and Let It Fade
To the right and from there there’s just of a big cluster of trees that you want to get as far through as possible with the detour we’re going to be throwing a bit on anheiser backhand try to get it past these like trees on the right
Hopefully we don’t get too Tangled Up in the trees where we can have a manageable Approach missed that oh wow I didn’t hit anything that actually might be a really good shot just for reference here’s the view from the short te this would be a part three you can see the basket is straight ahead but there are tiny tiny gaps to hit from
Here very tricky shot and I think actually from the Par Four position at the middle te and the long T it’s even easier because if you can get a forehand to like the mouth of these openings here it is so much easier than this t-shot and then from there it’s just like a
Normal par three let’s go find that detour Now that looks great drop o I think we got like a 10 15 footer all right I actually think this could be a bit of a testure is this tree in my way yeah kind of I almost don’t need to straddle here but I
Do oh man I’m so bad at stradle puts I can miss this so easily oh oh my god dude last hole hole 9 219 ft par three you can see the basket straight ahead now the real play here is to go with a flex forehand with something overstable
Let it turn a little a little bit off to the left and then finish to the right that’s definitely the most open line here I don’t think you can even really get a turnover there because you need it to go left a little bit first so I think
The best play with the detour here is to go right up the gut laser beam it that is what this disc has been doing well let’s give it a shot turn a little dang this is actually going to be kind of a tricky approach got to go with a little turnover I think
On the left a little oh no that was so lucky go in that’s parked I was definitely aiming for the more left Gap but that worked out jeez that was such a lucky shot but should be able to finish clean here nice clean round nice let’s
Go okay yeah let me give you my final thoughts of The Detour all right I all finished up testing out this new detour the newest disc in James Conrad’s line of discs and I have to say I absolutely love this disc I really think that this
Disc is going to be going straight into the bag I have been wanting to find something a little more on the understable side I thought I had an M4 that was a little bit flipper than my hex but in reality they’re very similar that maybe the M4 might just be a tad
Bit more understable but I think this detour really fits the bill I really enjoy throwing this disc if you have a lower arm speed like me for the most part you can throw it flat you will get a little bit of turn out of it but if
You put just a little bit of Hiser flip it up to Flat that’s where this disc really shines it is a true laser beam of a disc but let me know in the comments down below if you’ve gotten a chance to try out the detour and if you have what
Do you think about it I really think that this should be one of MVP’s bestselling discs when it releases next year I really enjoyed this disc that is going to be it for this episode guys if you haven’t I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider subscribing to
The channel and definitely be sure to do so because in our next video I’m going to be playing the back n here at East Roswell using the detour but we’re also going to be adding in the hex and the Uplink two other complimentary midranges in MVP’s lineup we’re going to see how
They compare on the back NES so be sure to subscribe to the channel you’re not going to want to miss that episode if you enjoyed watching this little challenge using the the detour be sure to give this video a thumbs up and ring that notification Bell so you can be
Notified when our next episode comes out until next time guys Cheers Yeah

Would like to see the westside tursas in the comparison video
The Detour immediately made my bag. This disc is great for beginners or slow arm speed players like me!
Was waiitng for you to make a video about this! My buddy sent me lab seconds of the glow glitch and the detour…been loving both so far!
The detour rules. It's exactly what most people want out of their hex, but it does it right off the shelf instead of having to beat it in for a year to get the perfect flight.
I use an uplink in that slot atm but looking forward to the detour being available outside the box.
A Detour vs Buzzz SS, video would be great. 😊
Nice gap graphic stuff. Very fun. This channel rules and it's only getting better. Happy Holidays Chris.
Your content is only getting better, man. Really fun watch! Those two long putts were also neat
Went straight into the bag. Awesome disc, love the way it fits into my hand. I’m picky with rim depth and it was 👌🏼
I use the Innova Panther. It has the same numbers.
