Oh it is good to be back a couple of weeks in the stat cave building new things uh making upgrades to the website no YouTube previews no PGA Tour events it’s time it’s time to get back into it and I am ready to rock and roll

Only spend a little bit of time on that then we’re going to look at some bounceback candidates for 2024 guys that struggled who might statistically be modeling out to show up well in the new season I’m going to unveil at least two new tools uh that will be available on rickun good.com

Shortly which I’ve never done before I have never pre-own them uh I’m gonna do it today and then I’ll maybe tease a couple of other ones we’re going to look at some new guys to watch maybe some corn fairy golfers I’m going to show you

We’re going to do this all in real time I’m going to show you the back end of my database uh we’re going to make visualizations as we go I I don’t care how long it takes we’ll do it talk about some live golfers we will go through the

2024 fantasy rankings we’ll do a little bit of a mock draft maybe the first couple of rounds or two I have to pick the draft order for our thousand draft in which I need one person to fill that spot more on that in a second we’ll talk about overall oneandone strategy I will

Answer any questions that you have and then maybe I’ll give you an idea of what will be coming down the Rick rungood pipeline here in just the course of the next couple of weeks drop your questions in the chat I will go through them uh as necessary so I already see that Garrett

Uh I’m going to go back to my newsletter because this is always something that pops up that people really like the most valuable golfer of 2023 so Kurt kyama if you would have bet $100 on Kurt kyama in every single start last year you would have made

$23,000 obviously the 250 to1 win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational uh is the chunk of that it’s not the chunk it’s the entire thing one win and then I think you know 20 not wins uh is $23,000 Lucas Glover would have made you 12,000 Windham Clark would

Have made you 106 Brian Harman would have maed 7600 and Keegan Bradley would have maed 5,900 those were the best golfers that if you bet 100 $ on them every single week you would have profited the most the returns for the big boys are not nearly as good as you

Might think they are Scotty sheffler goes out and has a pretty historic season if you at Short odds every single week if you bet Scotty every single week last year you or this year 2023 you would have made $850 Xander Schley another year another big negative number in this department

Down $2,100 if you bet Victor hin like I do every single week good on you up $2,300 if you bet a 100 bucks on him every single week Max homo would have broke you even and a couple of guys that had some disappointing weeks now here is

Something I’m going to do I’m going to show you the back end of one of my tools here real quick just to kind of give you an idea of uh some more golfers because there always people are always like oh well what about SE and so what about blah blah blah okay

Let’s do it so bear with me I’m going to present a uh a different screen here and I’m going to share uh this so this is just a list okay so here are the most profitable golfers we can look at this from a variety of different ways the fact that

There are only what 20ish golfers that if you would have bet every single week would have turned you a profit and then obviously there are like hundreds of guys that would have lost you money every single week if you look at how frequently they played these guys are

All losers you know Adam long Mark hubard Kevin TW Nick Hardy guys that played 30 plus times in 2023 did not cash you anything the golfer who played the most who returned you an actual profit was Emiliano gillo 27 starts $4,400 in profit if you bet him every

Single week I believe the win was Byron Nelson off the top of my head does that make sense it was definitely one of those Texas events Nico EA that win was very early in the year I think it was last swing season would have made you

$4,000 at 26 starts and then you get to Brian Harmon a rare high value big returner at $7,600 if you bet him in every single start now when you look over here at the well maybe I’ll save the fantasy points uh conversation for a little bit later

But average odds so if we flip this around and look at the golfers with the best odds uh I showed most of these but I want to go a little bit further here the profitable golfers that had longer odds than what I showed you in the newsletter Corey Connors um thanks to

His victory at oh God was it Valero did he win that again did return you a profit of $400 SEIU returned you 2625 starts um let’s see Chris Kirk returned you 1300 OE returns you 13300 basically everybody else here is a loser this is hard it’s hard to do now

Obviously you’re not expecting to actually go out and um uh bet bet these golfers every single week but if you did this gives you an idea of the es and flows looking forward to 2024 what I W to do is I want to show

You or I want to just dive into um a couple of things here and we’re going to do this together I’ve never done this before I’ve never truly just opened up the back end and and gone after this and we’re going to do it right now so um we’re just going to make

Some very very simple lists I am going to try and zoom this in make it a little bit bigger let’s see what we got here all right so um we’re gonna look at every golfer in 2023 and we’re gonna look for bounceback candidates so what I would

Like to do here is find the guys who played the best and then also see where how many wins did they have essentially okay did they win or did they not win let’s see winds great I’m gonna clear out some of these um clear out some of these filters here

Okay so the way that this reads and what I’ll do is actually uh probably do this by average so the way that this reads and oh sorry I got to do and let’s do at least uh 50 rounds greater than or equal to 50 rounds that should do the

Trick all right boom so the way that this reads is that Scotty Sheffer gained 2.3 Strokes per round in 2023 that turned into three wins Rory mroy 1.92 three wins John Ron 1.92 five wins look at these two big gaps here Patrick Klay Xander Schley gained more Strokes than

Everybody but Scotty Rory and Rah zero combined wins you’d think that would turn around we’re going to dive into another metric here in a second but um that is what I that’s win luck right I I mean these guys are playing well enough they both played better than Victor hin

In 2023 Victor got four wins Patrick and Xander did not here’s Colin morawa who just got that L win late in the year we talked about that a lot throughout the year that he was on the verge or at least playing to a level capable of winning and it just wasn’t happening

That is Win l so when you start to see names here with gaps Eric Cole 1.3 Strokes gained per round nickol hoard had three worldwide wins last year played slightly worse than Eric Cole Windham Clark had a major championship and a signature win was worse than Eric Cole Adrien Moran three

Worldwide wins Matt Fitzpatrick three worldwide wins these guys all worse than Eric Cole so you start firing this up and saying man your bounceback candidates you know call it a bounceback for Patrick Klay and Xander sh I don’t care what you call it um Eric Cole appears to be on the verge

Of a big year Russell Henley um Yanik Paul some of these are obviously Euro tour guys we can filter that out if you want or what we can actually also continue to do here is break this down a little bit more what was Scotty’s uh big thing

In 2023 it was his outrageous teer green play right so here’s Scotty sheffler uh nearly a full stroke better than everybody else from Tia green three win well Patrick Klay shows up well there um Xander Schley shows up well there let’s get rid of the let’s get rid of the Euro

Guys real quick we’ll just do the PGA Tour guys so PJ tour guys um Hideki Russell Henley Gary Woodland who’s actually uh making a comeback now all better than a stroke per round from Tia green all without victories in 2023 so when you’re going through your fantasy drafts when you’re going through the

Opportunity to buy low on golfers whether that is in in a salary cap game whether it is drafting late round Flyers these are probably guys you want to be targeting right Stephen Jagger was 1.03 Strokes from Tia green uh better than the field in 2023 did not I don’t

Know I’m not even sure he sniff a win did he have a podium do I have a Podium thing in here uh I have top 10 let’s do this let’s do top 10 percentages wow Patrick can’t lay 47% top 10 rate compared to like Scotty Shuff and Rory Ma at 77 and 72

Hideki at 9.1 that’s pretty shocking so what I’m actually G to do now is I want to dive into this a little further and I want to do do I have it here I do strokes gain per round um Strokes gain total and how like the frequency of which they are doing it

So find me high-end golfers who didn’t win yeah so this is how you win right gain five or more Strokes in a single round the guys who did it the most the 1 2 3 4 five six seven guys who did it the most in 2023 gained at least five

Strokes to the field won a combined 14 15 16 times how good is that right so the you’ve got to have ceiling weeks you got to have cealing rounds without them it’s just almost impossible to win on the PGA tour it is so deep it is so so

Difficult this is all available on rickun good.com by the way um The Strokes gain total stuff that’s the the distribution is on the power rankings so you can go check that out but this is just a nice way to look at it we seem to be on the verge of Denny McCarthy

Breakout a Eric Cole breakout um maybe even a Sam Ryder type of situation but you can see the problem with Ryder is he has these really high upside weeks but he doesn’t have enough of them you know his gaining five Strokes to the field seven and a half percent of the time is

Almost identical only 99.6% of the time where he gains four or more where you’ll see a lot of these guys gain four or more twice as often as they gain seven or excuse me as they gain five or more so there really is not um it’s either

All or Nothing for Sam Ryder which is a little bit concerning you can have one really good round and then um kind of Punt it away after that and then you can see the guys you know so what what is it the reverse bounceback the guys that

Maybe had too much win luck guys that when they got into into contention everything fell in the right order um Justin Rose you know he had a great year only gained five or more Strokes to the field 4.7% of his rounds got two wins on

The year he only had 31% of a top 10 rate got two wins Lucas Glover same thing all of his damage was done in like four weeks um sep straka might be in there I mean Rory mroy right Rory M did not win enough but the metrics are much

Much better than than those other guys so another way to look at it I thought that that was a little bit interesting what I want to do is dive into a couple of specific golfers and golfers that I’ve gotten the most questions about over the course of the last couple of

Weeks we’ll start with the obvious one and that is Justin Thomas what is Justin Thomas uh going to do in 2024 I’m G to share my screen get you on the right window here we should be good to go all right so here’s JT I’m pretty much in the category

Of um Justin Thomas is gonna have a really nice 2024 I think he might win The Masters okay just kind of throwing that out there since the I since the end of the playoffs his Advanced metrics have started to come back gaining multiple Strokes on approach you love to

See it a little bit relying on the short game however that’s always been been a strong suit of his so I’m not worried about that the putter had started to make gains and even losing Two Strokes to the field at Albany um he was able to

Finish third so you look at his major championship record and specifically let’s look at the Masters record had that really good trend of you know finishing um you know better every single year 39th 22nd 17th 12th then he had the 21st and the eighth place finish right so those are um obviously getting

Missed the cut in 2023 he had a horrible 2023 somebody said to me he can’t putt at Augusta National well um we’ve got some of The Strokes gain metrics in two of his last three trips to Augusta National he gained Strokes putting so I don’t think it’s completely out of the

Question that he could find a hot putting week be phenomenal around the greens like he is usually gain a stroke per round with his approach play and get himself in contention and hope things fall in his order cam young probably the second most requested golfer here and

This has actually had a little bit of a change as of late cam Young’s 2023 not good well documented um I really worry about his short game uh the driver was mostly good but we were not seeing the the prolific stat profile that we saw in

2022 the news as of late which is I don’t know if this is good bad or indifferent is that the highly anticipated relationship with Paul Torri web Simpsons old caddy is over one year they’ve moved on from each other I don’t know whose decision that was but Paul

Torri is now on Brendan Todd’s bag and that is kind of a shocker right it is it is not often that you get a a huge move like that in the caddy player world and this highly anticipated player gets one of the best caddies in the world and

Then they have a dud of a season you look at at some of the stats it’s hard to pin this on the on the caddy right I mean this is a lot of short game stuff a lot of feel stuff a lot of things that maybe a Caddy’s you know they’re not

It’s not about getting you the wrong numbers or giving you the long wrong lines this is kind of this looks like player stuff to me so maybe a little bit of panic but um cam young will have a new caddy this year which I think is going to be really interesting that

Froze everything else into uh or out of out of whack and then finally um Maverick MCN is another guy that I wanted to highlight here because Maverick mcney led the PGA tour in Strokes game putting last year now he only played 49 measured rounds he shut it down from uh

June to November he was horrible statistically he was working through I believe it was a back injury it was pretty bad from what I understand I ran into him the other day at TPC Summerland he said it feels good to be going Full Tilt again um I attribute the vast majority of

These horrible results to the injury which I think is fair he got hurt at actually was battling it earlier in the year Phoenix is when he withdrew remember he like puted it into the water and then he withdrew it didn’t get any better after that um the stat

Profile that I think might be interesting is if if he is healthy are we going to get a 2022 version of himself because if we get a 2022 version uh the ability catch fire with the putter he was a positive ball Striker most weeks I think this could be a

Really good bu low spot for Maverick mcne especially kind of late in some of your drafts early in I he’s gonna play Sony right so so early in the year where nobody wants to touch him and he’s been toxic and he’s gonna come in at like 1%

Things like that I find interesting for Maverick mcney okay let me find a quick question or too um okay I’m going to unveil the tools in a second here excuse me I’m sipping um Zach says uh is Rick taking over the written content with the Andy departure uh yes so I’ll

Do uh I’m gonna expand basically my written content within the newsletter and within the website I’m not rating for Golf Digest this year uh I opted out of that and I will give more attention to Rick run good and the Rick run good ecosystem which is um something that

I’ve been wanting to do so with that being said let me share a couple of new tools that are coming here in 2023 and I’ll preface this by saying um these are still on my staging server so they might be a little bit slow and

They are not live yet but my goal is to be live within the first week or so of January maybe not the Tournament of Champions hopefully almost certainly the Sony Open so I’ve never done this before I have never um shown something that’s been on my staging server so let

Golfers uh you can click and you can go to their golfer profile page okay so you can click their name or you can search for them so you could search for Rory maoy and be taken to that thatat profile okay so let me show you what that would look

Like maybe maybe come on there we go um so here’s John ROM stat profile okay his golfer profile so this is new and this takes a lot of elements from past golfer profiles uh fantasy scoring and their salaries it’s going to have The Strokes gain metrics as usual as long along with

Salary fantasy points ownership odds uh their Strokes gained breakdown you’ll be able to click into their round by round stuff round one round two round three round four that’s new for this year that was something you could only do on the ho Grail previously you can still filter

On anything that you want you can see the breakdown you can see the uh rankings against both this field and the current uh or the active players or against the current field if he is in it so these are from I took this from um what’s that baseball stat site I love

These kind of ranking things and then you’ll be able to see articles uh Rick rungood uh YouTube channels will come in here as well if you scroll down you will be able to get the uh season byse metrics and stats for these golfers um each golfer is going to have their own

Individual URL which means I can link to golfer profile Pages which is huge for me from a Content perspective um you’ll have everybody’s history whether it is across six tours no matter how long and how far back it goes I’m at 2013 for Rory and I’m continuing to scroll here’s

His Open championship in in 2007 so um this is very very nice the other thing is now that we’ve got the custom model and the um golfer profiles working on the same system you can favorite these golfers okay and you can have this set up to keep your favorites throughout the

Week uh and reset every week for those of you who like that or you can have it set to um clear them only when you want to clear them so let me see if I can go back now when you favorite a golfer uh it’ll actually show up here as well

So if you favored a golfer on the custom model or on the golfer profile they’ll be visible vice versa okay which is which is very very nice now the website is starting to talk to one another so um that is just kind of Step One into the golfer profiles uh and making the

Website more cohesive got some more stuff coming in you’ll you’re going to see a ton more data in here that’s tool one tool two is something I never really even considered until probably September of this year and I want to get this link correct here uh because

This is I’m still testing this as well and this one might be this one actually might be pretty slow because it is on my um it is on my staging server so this might be quite slow because it’s a lot but let me just see if I have this page page

Correct live testing I can show you a couple different versions of this so um long story short the way that I Envision Rick run good.com is as much data as possible obviously as much data accurate data complete data visualizations tools making that process easier it has generally um looked forward right right

It would look at the week ahead it would look at the tournament ahead it would look backwards it would have historic stuff and there was not a ton of live stuff there was a live leaderboard which um is is about to be replaced and upgraded so the live leaderboard for the

First time ever um is going to have the oh that was a weak that was a weak unveil hold on I had the wrong screen showing that was such a weak unveil the live leaderboard for the first time ever um will have the shot by shot data okay so the shot

By shot data with scorecards with uh what is essentially shotlink uh The Strokes gained metrics will come in here as well you can see them round by round you’ll be able to see uh and zoom in on any of these views that you want you’ll be able to read the shots for every

Single player you’ll be able to favorite players you’ll be able to see things on uh on each hole for the golf course this is uh this is the you’ll be able to basically fire up as many of these as you want so the way that I was testing

This was you know the guys that I had um you know favored it for a week I would open up a window for each one of them and it would just live show me through those golfers um so that this is huge uh this was not

Something that was even on my radar uh until the Ridder cup so this is this is IMG product um which they’ve made a huge investment in golf and they I met up with those guys at the Ridder cup they’re good guys and we tested this

Right and the time that it took this is this is the fastest updating thing that you can find okay so now it’s going to be on rickun good.com we tested this at the Ryder Cup we stood at the first grand stand right up top and when a

Player hit a shot from the time player hit a shot we started counting until it showed up in the in the tracker here and it was eight seconds eight seconds four of that the ball was in the air okay eight seconds it’s the fastest product I could find I’m very happy with this

Two new things that I hope to have within the next week or two on the website they’re as you can see they’re basically ready to go um and then I will uh maybe unveil a little bit of a little bit of stuff here in a second some new

Guys to watch I did see there was a question here about curious about the 10 DP golfers who got their PGA Tour card and how do we know how many tournaments they will play Peter I’m not sure we will know right I mean there’s obviously a lot of personal preference in here

There’s a lot of scheduling that these guys have to consider I guess the answer is we’ll see and I if I don’t have a better answer for you if I if I said I I would be I would be lying okay let us go to um back

To the power rankings here because I do want to look at some of the bigger or or the guys that might be coming from the corn fairy tour so let’s go look at the last 50 rounds for everybody on the corn fairy tour and start to see some of the best players

That are coming up this we’re gon have to figure out how to pronounce his name Adrien Dumont de chass I believe he will likely go by Adrien Dumont day or I’m sorry he will likely go by addc um which which is much much easier gained 1.6 Strokes to the field per

Round on the corn fairy tour he Jake knap Alejandro tosty Ben Kohl’s are likely going to be pretty significant uh contributors when they get on to the PGA Tour whether that might be via fantasy points whether it might be you know top 10 first round leaders whatever that might be these are

The guys that are likely targets I want to pull up Jake knap in particular because I think it was him that I was looking through his stat profile the other day and I was like holy crap this kid yeah so look at the you know since the so he missed he

Played the RBC Canadian open and missed the cut um after that he rattled off a bunch of top 10s on the corn fairy tour t7 T8 t7 uh his worst finish was well he did Miss one cut but he like t29 was his worst finish in there he played well

Until the very very end this was a very good year for Jake knap um if we look at some of these other golfers you might see a little bit more volatility like I bet you Parker Cy is a bit more volatile Than Jake knap was yeah you can

See Parker got you know the third place finish at TBC Colorado the runner up at the Price Cutter and then you know couple Mis Cuts here couple miscuts there didn’t get off to a a super solid start in 2023 that’s a lot more volatile corn fairy tour profile jig knap I was

Impressed with how um just consistent that he was and then Jimmy Stanger is here as well and Jimmy is he was kind of a corn fairy vet so I think he’d been on the corn fairy tour for the last um four or five years or so and he kind of

Always finish just outside that uh that get your card number and then he finally goes out and does it this year with a lot of really strong play gets the win in June didn’t play as well after that but I think you see this a lot on the

Corn fairy he was pretty much locked up that he was going to get his tourque card and it’s you know it’s not that it’s easy to just stop playing well but you see this a lot on the corn fairy tour he’s someone that I think is interesting moving forward and then

Maybe the guy that I think is so interesting is Norman Jong and and you guys I’m sure have heard me mention Norm before um what what is there to say you know the saying is uh what is it form comes and goes but class never leaves or

Something like that and the idea being even the best players in the world are gonna go through ups and downs ask Justin Thomas ask Jordan spe ask Ricky Fowler ask Jason day and Justin Rose and literally every golfer ever now Norm did not has never had the level of success

Of those guys in professional golf but has Haskins Award winner out of the University of Oregon comp just absolutely dominated college golf um couple of years ago finally starts to get back on track this year has a runner-up finish in Knoxville wins at Ohio State University

Golf Club has a couple of good finish I think he’s going to be incredibly volatile I think he is like a dream firstr leader type guy a dream Showdown guy I cannot wait to see what Norm does this year okay um circling back there was a qu there was a comment about uh

Euro head-to-head matchup Grinders are G to love you yes so the way that I understand this tool to work uh is that you will be able let me see if I can do this I just shut it down I’m trying to bring it back up here is you could

Basically follow you can favorite um like matchups and or groupings and follow the groups right which I think is which I think is pretty cool so it will be it should be very easy to sweat um head-to-head matchups and and and things of that nature which was which was kind

Of the point okay what else do I have um will okay will there be yes so I need to so there is a there are tutorials right now so I get this question not as I’ve done a better job of letting people know where the tutorials are I send it to you

In an email uh when you first sign up things of that nature but there is actually a YouTube playlist uh that looks like this on Rick Run good.com YouTube go on playlist it’s there that has tutorials on all of these tools now hand up uh I need to update

Some of these right some of these have gone through some pretty significant upgrades over the course of the last year or so and I need to update this so I I will update this PSU dad uh but know that when I do those tutorials will be dropped here into this playlist just

Because it’s easier and I can be constantly updating them and whatnot uh I will get to season long fantasy in just a few minutes okay um we are at this portion of the outline we are at live golfers okay so I’m going to pull up some of the live stats then we got

Shambo appears to be poised for a pretty big year okay um I like the way he looks both physically and the shape of his game I like the metrics of how often he is gaining four or more Strokes to the field it is a lot I like the metric on

How often he’s gaining five or more Strokes to the field I like that when he’s getting in contention he is winning I think that there are a couple of really good spots for him at major championship specifically Pinehurst I saw that there was a question about that

Earlier I think that that’s probably a pretty decent spot for him I’ll be very interested to see major championship numbers on on Bryson D shampo if you look about the rest of this um the rest of this live field DJ is still the fifth best golfer on live in 2023 but that was

A pretty sharp decline from the 202 two version of him that is something that gives me pause right so if you are looking to add these guys to your the end of your roster if you’re looking to pick them up in fantasy before you get to major championships um I obviously think

Brooks is is number one I think Bryson is number two and I think cam Smith is a pretty strong number three I’m starting to get a lot of hesitance towards DJ until we at least see maybe a first couple of starts for them I think they start in February and

We’ll see where gu kind of winds up in this whole owgr situation whether he’s goingon to end up playing major championships or or not as it is um some of the guys that you were expecting a little bit more out of obviously there’s the Matt Wolves of the world but um you

Know we did not get a good 2023 from uh yeno chakara lost a quarter of a stroke per round same number for Paul Casey the other one that I thought we were going to get a Prett pretty good run from is where’s Sebastian Munoz here you go uh

Oh that’s not the right I got I might have to combine his stat profile here we go uh Munoz was better was better than I anticipated um just kind of looking through some of these guys and seeing if there’s anybody that that stands out so I don’t know what the future of Liv

Um I think it’s I don’t even know if they’re worth drafting as opposed to just kind of picking up as you get closer to major championships something like that maybe picking maybe you D get Brooks late depending on how many roster spots you have available maybe not

Okay I’ve got a couple of other things here so um are you sipping the good stuff from mikkelson’s Wellness this is actually no it’s actually from a a Solar Company I do have a I do have a mikkelson Tumblr but it uh the quality is quite quite bad

And it’s starting to flake and come apart the best tumblers are the ones that have this metal at the top this seems to allow the uh the design to stay on there a little bit better when this goes all the way to the top it it starts to break off pretty

With what is going on with season long where can you play and all that fun stuff so season long fantasy golf which looks like uh this I’ve been playing it and we’ve been playing it I think there’s almost 2,000 of us last year on fan tracks okay so

It’s not great but it is probably the best thing out there you will run into issues I promise you but it is probably better than anything else that currently exists so the way that this works is you draft a team very much similar to Fantasy Football you pick a starters

Each week uh you get points whether that fantasy scoring or money talk about that in a second and then you play against other owners okay so uh last year I was the commissioner of like 40 leaks that was way too many so I had to do payouts

I had to make sure they were full all that fun stuff but I was willing to do it because we needed to get it all set up and everybody on the same page the good news is all 40 like those leagues can now just continue right so so

Whoever is in those leagues can go on to fan tracks and restart those leagues either with the same people or new people and just run it right back if you want to do that the other thing is this um spreadsheet still exists so what I will

Couple of rule changes for this year I made the rosters bigger TW uh 14 instead of 12 I made the starters smaller four instead of six starters and we changed to money earned the problem that we ran into last year was that um basically whoever had the the the the

Team that had more guys make the cut won the matchup so even if you had the winner and uh the guy who finished second but two guys that missed the cut you would probably lose to a team that had six of six through which we didn’t

Really think was super fair so I made those changes you don’t have to make those changes in your league but you can do that um we’ll do a mock draft in a second because I think that that’s interesting but what I will actually do

Is I need to draw I need to draw that order for that thousand leak which there is a spot available so in this bag are golf balls eight different golf balls they all have different logos on them um so for example uh this pink one is Andy this

My ranks are like my top five are Scotty Rory Victor Klay Xander uh Colin and Max might move up I’ve got them colorcoded a little bit I think the yellow guys uh these yellow guys are kind of uh on a per start basis they’re kind of elite

Scorers uh the orange guys are guys that are more volume golfers a good volume golfers not just like fill-ins which kind of a lot of these guys are um I’m not done with these rankings yet but I will kind of use them to guide the selections here and we’ll see what kind

Of mock that we can come up with so move that over get you back back to the mock draft board all right so team number one presumably is oh boy sorry is almost always going to take Scotty I would imagine um I don’t think there’s much reason not to Scotty

Plays a lot he scores a lot and he makes a ton of money so I imagine first pick off the board is going to be Scotty sheffler which does kind of put team two in a little bit of a pickle the safe play is Rory mroy uh Rory makes a ton of

Money Rory plays in all the big events he’s obviously in all the Signature Events even when he doesn’t play even when he doesn’t win he is likely to finish inside the top 10 his top 10 rate is just outrageous okay piles cash uh the the the other option would be to

Take Victor if you you know Victor had you know you don’t get the you don’t get the bonus money for the uh for winning the the Tour Championship but he had a couple of wins before that made a ton of money in the major championships I think you’d be fine to

Go either place um I I like to be a little bit safer and would probably go Rory M Victor would then probably go third and then four and five I think the next so um I think there’s a big three uh now without John ROM right so

So Rah in the format that we play is only going to be available to you four times a year as of recording this unless something changes okay so Rah I I mean I had to drop him very very far down the board obviously so I think there’s now a

Big three four five six7 are kind of similar that’s your Klay Xander morawa home those guys I could see them going in any order if you told me today uh pick a golfer for four I would probably go Xander because uh he plays a little bit more played a little bit more than

Patrick Klay uh has a huge kind of top 10 number even if he doesn’t even without winning makes a bunch of money though I suppose if you worry about live defection risk he would probably be up there so if you did want to go like Max

H or colum morawa here and Skip those two guys I wouldn’t mind that okay so actually let me let me kind of just run these in tandem a little bit or actually we’ll come back and do it again so so you probably go Xander Patrick Klay Max hom Colin morawa now team

Eight it’s not a super great spot you’re going to get two picks in a row but your picks are probably two of Fleetwood Hatton minwoo Tom Kim sunj M or you could uh so this is when you are on the corner when you’re on the turn you kind of have to reach sometimes

Because you know that golfer might not be there for you by the time it gets back to you so I would not mind if you went Tommy Fleetwood who played 26 times last year uh was in the 72nd per Fantasy Point scoring made a lot of money and then you went ludig ludvig

Ober okay so there would be your first reach out of the E spot uh I have ludvig like 15th and I think that’s very high very generous but there’s a chance that he’s a league breaker right there’s a chance that ludvig breaks the league if you look at his stats he scored more

Fantasy points than every golfer except Scotty sheff he only had 18 starts he finished in the 84th percentile of DraftKings scoring on average which was better than everybody but Scotty Sheffer so very very small sample size you’re getting mini Scotty then it bounces back now here’s where you could

Go um so moraca is pretty high risk could you get somebody who’s a little bit safer Sun JM I think is the pick here um if you go back and look at one of these posts that I made let me see if I can find this post real quick there was

Uh I think it’s here okay the the conversation between Elite scoring Elite volume etc etc so Eric Cole was Elite volume Elite scoring Mark hubard was Elite volume not so Elite scoring Scotty Sheffer was Elite scoring not so much Elite volume the guy who was pretty awesome at both was sunjay uh

Scored more points than Victor and Windam Clark and Xander Schley and did it in many fewer starts than Mark hubard Nick Hardy all these other guys or in more starts excuse me so you’re gonna get uh you’re gonna get more starts from sunjay than a lot of these other guys so

I would not mind if you rolled out sunjay in there with Colin Mora that feels pretty safe now Team Six has Max hom you could go hat in here you could go bwoo here again that’s a little bit of a reach I wouldn’t mind it or I would probably go Matt Fitzpatrick

This would be a really solid start then you go Klay probably takes now you’ve got okay you’ve got lived affection risk are you you could just you could just go back to back and say if these if if can’t lay and hattan go to live I’m screwed okay you could say that because

Necessarily want to take stands on Xander and Klay if you end up in the four spot in my opinion it is so close between these four Xander Klay hom more aawa um I would roll with H or Colin instead of Xander and Klay just because

Really know yet or at least at last check that I saw is that we don’t know the actual purses for most of the events which is kind of annoying right so we know the purses for the signature events are going to be probably 20 million bucks right uh we know the PLAYERS

Championship is probably going to be 25 or 30 million bucks we don’t know whether the Valero Texas open or the Zurich or whether that’s gonna be eight nine 10 11 million doll we don’t know that yet um we don’t know what the major championships are going

To be yet just very very annoying stuff so it’s hard to really get your finger on the pulse of that but uh what we found last year is the critical nature of not just the four major championships but of those Signature Events and who won those Signature Events last year

Pretty much the big boys right Rah won the century uh last year Phoenix was a signature event Scotty won that Rah won the Genesis what else was a signature event API ktk kyam was really the only long shot that won one of them right Scott won the PLAYERS Championship uh Rah won the

Masters was the harc Heritage a signature event last year I can’t remember uh Wells Fargo Windam Clark PJ Championship Brooks Kea uh Memorial Victor was that a signature it is a signature event this year I think it was last year as as well um so the the good

News for that is there was a time where everybody just took their top four players and played them at Majors when really now it’s probably going to be better to use them in the Signature Events especially if those Signature Events end up being 80 players and no

Cut there’s still so much that has to be figured out for 2024 it’s shocking that we are days away from flipping the calendar and this stuff has not been announced by the PGA Tour yet but um the good news is you know you can access the live guys in the major championships you

Can access the other big boys here in the Signature Events I think it makes it a lot more compelling about about the one andd situations and then the other thing that I want to do a better job of for this year is making sure that everybody uses all of the good golfers

That are available to them I’ve probably mentioned this before but I got so many comments of like you know it’s the last six weeks and I’ve got the top 10 players in the world left it’s like what are you doing why did you why did you do

This so um again this is kind of a little bit of a tease it’s not quite there yet but the um I spent time in Denver this uh this offseason if you guys remember that and that was a business meeting I was working with a partner that we’ve worked with before to

Create a oneandone tool that helps you with all of this I’m not going to name it because it’s not live yet but the goal is obviously to have it live here shortly where you’ll be able to put in who you’ve selected who you haven’t selected be very similar to that NFL

Survivor Tool that we used um just like that to really help with all this so when I have that available I hope to share it with you guys but I I really think that uh using all your golfers and then here’s the other thing um the the size of your pool is so

Critical so last year let me pull up two examples for you last year I’m GNA show you two different one and DS my one andone which had 1,00 people in it is right uh here right okay the winner of that pool league needed $27 million to win and it was pretty close

26 million 26 million 23 million and 23 million from the top five players I was in this league with 188 golfers uh where is oh no they might have taken it down oh no oh maybe they’re turning it over for the new Year dang I thought I was going to have a really good example but it was 188 golfers I had I think 20 million and I ran away with it I won by like $5 million or something like that my point being the amount of money that you need
