You what you don’t move it a lot in the air do you it’s pretty pretty straight flight huh tried to yeah oh it was impressive I watched it on that range the other day what you got three on 4 three iron how far you hit that probably about 250 around here let’s see

250 shot just on the right edge of the green just be a little short this is going to be fun this boy can play let me tell you have a good one marvelous good t-shot little trick bump shot there Tristan how do you feel as though

Tristan the uh four wins how old 26 it’s a lot of wins lot of wins you must be happy the way it started if you don’t mind me saying started I mean four wins that’s yeah very delighted I mean it was a rough start when I turned Pro and um

Eventually got my card in DP allall to and just boom straight away you know unbelievable like you can’t actually expressed the feeling you know winning is really tough and it happened so quickly four in the last 18 19 months so yeah it’s been it’s been unbelievable unbelievable two seasons for me so if

You talk you you you you openly just said you said it was a tough start how did you turn that around did you have help doing that mentally or did you just turn it around yourself I think it’s all about opportunities you know I think most of the golfers they they know how

To play but it’s it’s more opportunities based you know once you get a card on a on a decent to I feel like it’s it’s it’s easy you just go out and play your game and mentally sort of you know it’s it’s yeah it’s 99% mental you know you

Want to don’t want to overthink things and um just play golf and that’s sort of what I’ve done my whole life just play a lot of golf I’m not a a hard worker really like e a lot of balls in the driving range but yeah just playing golf

Was very easy for me and I got the opportunity to play on a on a big stage and it I just felt comfortable straight straight out on a DP all tour I tell you it’s an amazing thing I mean you’ve you’ve had so many natural golfers South Africa you know like Gary

Player the daddy of golf there he was a grinder but then you’ve got Ernie you know didn’t have to work that hard natural you could see it big heavy arms thump retif another one where did where does that come from did you think probably the steak must be the

Food oh the steak and the ribs I love that must be the food I don’t know I think South Africa is mentally very strong you know we’re very competitive in in all sports and um I think as I think it starts with Junior Golf you

Know we we sort of get forced to play a lot of tournaments you look at college golf the guys play nine 10 events a year we play 40 events a year so we sort of get forced and obviously we have Gary play and Ernie Al the Great you know

That you look up to and it sort of mentally gives you that boost to to want to work hard um but yeah you’re right there’s a lot of a lot of good South African guys out there very natural and yeah like I just said not not overthinking everybody just sort of do

Their own thing and not not do technical right how you going to play that one you going to bump it you going to have a little bit of wind in there if you were in a championship would you fly or are you going to play the shot you would in

A championship yeah I might go for the Texas wedge and put it yes teach you something yeah is why not okay have you seen the shot before this the sickness of the grip oh yeah I’ve seen them all M I’ve seen them all yeah I keep it interesting

I think there’s many ways to to skin a cat so let’s see it’s a percentage play what you’re doing though yeah especially with the with the back you know the runoff at the back there not too much breaking here I think that’s all right not bad lacer China

Lacer I’m going over where’s your ball my mind’s in the Heather big fella come over here and have a look at this the Heather here around these area the S Heather is um it it kind of oh it’s for those of you who haven’t seen Heather oh

It’s yeah I’m sure Heather would be nice if it was your daughter’s name but to play out of it isn’t the same sort of thing it’s like where is it it’s over here somewhere oh here it is and it’s just starting to flower the Autumn Heather so I’m just going to play

A little bumb I’ve been fortunate here actually been your a few few times in your life oh the Heather oh yeah absolutely just a little just a little layup okay Tristan make yourself your first birthday at woki golf club get yourself in the red early boom tell me about your amate

Career yeah how did that go unbelievable amateur career um I won the ASA amateur twice match play back to back like how old were you when you won the I was I was 16 I was the youngest ever winner at that stage um record got broken a couple

Years later by another South African christu done well in the the open this year um but yeah unbelievable and then God got an opportunity to play the Lim trophy my first ever amateur event overseas and I won it where you play that at at Li yes um so yeah that sort

Of boosted my career and you know if you win such big events on that imager stage you you know the dog goes on and you know you get management companies that gets gets involved and that gave me a lot of opportunities you know to to start my pro career but um yeah just

Then kept on playing full-time amateur events all over all over Europe it was very different for me and weatherwise and stuff but that sort of made me the golf I am today you know it was it was tough you know far away from home four five months away in Europe and um yeah

Played awesome golf courses and that just boosted my career up until now cool let’s go this wonderful pathway okay you went from playing for his and hers towels and kitchen scales and all sorts of things your your mom probably loves but then you went to play

For money and when it started to roll it rolled tell us all about it yeah um 2018 I won the the sunshine T Q school and that sort of boosted you know my my career and so I always wanted to play on you know looking at it from a young age

And got my card and played there for three years and as you know there’s there’s European Toco sanctions on the sunshine toic Creek South African open it’s quite a Prestige event and um you know there was bumps on the road got my first Victory 2019 on on a sunshine tour and

Had a few good finishes I think top 10 top 10 in order of Merit 2019 and yeah then came Jo open my first DP World Tour win Co sanctioned of the sunshine tour and and that just boosted my whole career I mean after that just getting a

Two-year exemption on on the DP world to made me a free man for once in my life you know a licensed to play licensed to play you know turn pro in 2014 and there was more much more Downs than UPS in that five six seven years and um you

Know MoneyWise financially wise just you know just a mountain of my shoulders and um it got me to play free golf you know as you know you you get on some some te’s and you’re on the cut line and you know if I don’t make this cut I don’t

Have money to to play next week you know especially I plan on the challenge to a bit as well and it’s very expensive for South African and um yeah that just like you say I gave me a license and I I never looked back from then and yeah and

Won Won my won the Rookie of the Year award in my first year on on the DP World Tour so that’s it’s been unbelievable ever since that that victory in 2021 what was that feeling like to win in jobber like was it like whoa what just happened yeah it was yeah

I felt like I was dreaming at first you know there was a few complications that week with weather delays and at the end yeah at the end I got the Victory and yeah I mean didn’t really sink in until I got to to Abu Dhabi to to play the

First you know first event of the of the new year and um yeah it was just wow ever since that great let’s have a hit I I’ll have a CRP what about that what about that just have a look at that ho I’m right into golf courses but look at this woking

Golf club Tristan what are you thinking about that I mean that’s just oh it’s an unbelievable view like the bunker down here it’s like it’s got eyebrows I mean it’s so impressive you have enough Club to reach today I got myself the little seven heaven my mate Dominic in the truck there fix

This up for me it goes 214 yards how what do you hit 20 6 on probably a 6 on yeah doesn’t it make you sick doesn’t it make you sick all the WASP oh it’s left get out of that oh it’s all right just oh pure shot that

Right what was your first Pig golf club play the G10 um yeah I had one of those yeah driver Three Wooden hybrid yeah I quite love as a junior I still remember the the orange had like a orange U color in the head um yeah loved it ever since what about your

Relationship uh you know you getting them nice with them you going to that truck it’s like a kid in a sweetie shop isn’t it yeah no it’s insane I must say I’m I’m very honored to to be a ping Ambassador and to work with d and the

Guys same as the guys back in South Africa you know it’s a I feel like it feels feels like family does ping does yes really feels like family and um you know whatever I need week in week out from caps to whatever pigs you know they

The setup is just just perfect you know there’s there’s no questions asked whenever I need something you know they really try and do their best to help us every week to tweak a little play around of Club shafts you know wedges options and stuff like that so structure is

Incredible you know you walk into that van like you say you feel like a kid and just want to play around and taste everything and yeah try and make some birdies well in my eye honestly I mean you you really can from your heart y I

Can feel it there and we’re not saying it just because we have to it’s it’s it’s true it’s it’s the best it is the best stuff no it’s definitely the best all around from driver to butter I’ve never I’ve never had something like it you know I’ve played the eye blades for

The last 5 years and it’s I mean if I I can’t sleep without my clubs my clubs needs to be in in my room you know what people people leave their that’s taking it a bit too far I mean I’m just in love with it I mean that’s what brought me

Where I am today with with being equi and so yeah it’s been they’ve been unbelievable and I feel privileged to be part of the their family good Let Go interest to knock this in it’s out of the left mind taking that flag now are you keeping these flags here at working

Golf Club are quite thick do you leave the flag it or not no the all’s bigger with it out definitely absolutely I’m with you that fits Patrick goes all right with it though he does some of them do he does but yeah that’s not for me let’s see this the go to up

Yeah nice try nice try got the same driver as me 430 Max why for me I mean stepping on the t-box I want to see something that that’s reliable and for me a bigger head obviously I I personally feel like from the tea that’s the most important thing

Is is hitting Fairways and with a smaller head this is a bigger head the max is a bigger head they’ve got other other versions as well but I want to see something big I want to bash it I want to eat Fairways and it’s done exactly

That for me the last two years this driver has been unbelievable spin controls really great and um yeah it’s my baby there so you just said you want to find fs and then you said you wanted to bash it where I go around the water

With my commentary gig what I see now is people players hitting it so far down there if they’re in the rough they don’t care they’re so close to the grd and it’s almost like they just go out and hit driver everywhere make birdies and if they don’t make enough birdies they

Missed the cut they don’t care they go out the next week and do the same thing basically I feel as though professional golf has turned into okay you make you miss nine cuts out of 18 you will play tournaments maybe and then the other nine you have nine top 10 top 20s you

Make all your money in nine events are you feeling that sort of way the way the guys are playing golf they just go everyone’s just going out there and hitting it so far with this driver and may I add this ping driver a lot lot of them are using it for nothing yeah

Definitely I mean I I think that’s the game these days the ball obviously travels a long way these days but I mean it’s it’s not always about having 30 cut mes out of 32 events it’s about Victory 30 cuts and you finished 30th every week

You may as well go out there miss n top 10 it’s about winning and I mean like you say if if you’re in the Deep R you can just dip it up and out and up and down from 80 yards but yeah definitely this is a big deal for me bashing it it

Just looks so good I mean it just sets up so square and um I feel comfortable to getar it even on the Titus Fairways Titus all out there so yeah I just I just love it I think this is this is the way to go definitely the max I love it I

Was speaking to a certain rer cup player last night actually about your game Tristan and he said to me all of a sudden you’re hitting these leaky cuts down there and then next minute you you weren’t afraid just to hit this big high right to left draw are you one of those

Golfers with this driver to work at both are you a bit of okay not Bubba but that creative player I am definitely I mean people always ask me what shape you and I’m like whatever I want to I mean like this whole behind me I just I just see a

A nice little bleeder from the left you know just holding the Fairway that that slows from the right so I’m I’m not a stock shot guy I I like to work it and be creative like you say and I I definitely have a few extra yards in the

Tank if if I need it somewhere to H draw over over a bunk or whatever but yeah I like to get creative and this definitely the bigger head I love just gives me that workability so yeah I’m definitely one of those guys last question on this third te you’ve just said once more

Things I like to hear you’ve got a bit extra left in the tank okay you just get your stock shot and you hit it down the Fairway however far it goes whatever distance how much more have you got to add to that percentage wise 10% I don’t

Know what you tell me yeah I’m I’m one to to commit no matter what you know so I always want to hit actually 100% shot because that’s when I feel like I commited my best but I’ve probably got 110% in me 115% in me so there is about

10 15% left in the tank definitely yeah that’s about what Rory is too yeah yeah go on trist can you give it to her okay lovely shot will it run out can’t see can’t see that F good swing Bud copy paste for you there way hey no it’s not happening M

I’ll be quite happy just to get it somewhere around that you’re going left to right or right I can I’ve only got left to right these days as you get a little bit older trust me I mean you can’t really hit the draw I I don’t turn

As much you know I know the swing’s like to totally orthodox and all you people at home just marvel at Radar’s you know positions but you know I can only sort of hit that little leaky fade you were describing and have I got any more left in the tank

Put those two bunkers in the middle of the Fairway this is where it all started and everyone said well what are you doing you got bunkers in the middle of fa well you can go right or you can go left and it happens all around the world

No so so this so this is where it all started this is where they say this is where it all started right here so which side are you going to go like we play if we’re playing a big Championship which this is and you’re to up yeah are you

I’m giving it left well surely if I aim straight at it I can’t hit it in it can I well you can as straight as I watched you last week on the Range H it no I think I’m going to I’m going off them I’m going to probably work it off them

Yes work it from as the modern day get away from the danger yes work aim at the danger and work it off it correct let’s see where the amate golfer aims away from the danger and turns it towards it yeah oh no you flushed straight he said he was going straight at

It I tell it’s got to be in it we shall see it faded it faded but by about two yards I think the wind just hold that one up can’t can’t be me or the club it must be the win you know a great thing when you got a

Game like mine these days Tristan when you you can’t reach those bunkers I I was just about to say yeah you luckily you can’t reach them oh dear all that talk about your those bunkers there Tristan you’re way down there short of the green I’m quite happy to go left of them

Okay I got 90 yards oh wow oh wow short short eh not bad with the background noise there oh you got to have a rattler go through a golf course in Great Britain nothing like a rattler going love it you that was a lovely shot just didn’t check did it not my

Best take it up your part yeah the last victory of the four you’ve had uh Tristan a fantastic event in Munich a magnificent event uh the BMW International tell us all about that win cuz you were very emotional at the end of it but get to

That at the end I I was I was but yeah that Victory four four shots behind going into the final round that’s that’s my comfort zone going into a Sunday I like I like playing attacking golf I like being a little bit behind I feel comfortable because it’s you sort of have that

Feeling it’s it’s not yours to lose so you can just you can just go and give it a rip um but yeah I got very emotional um I was in the US for 6 weeks prior to that played two majors and um and the memorial and made

One of the three cuts it was was tough out they didn’t really get momentum going played well but just you know what it is you know you play one week and then one week week off and sort of never got momentum and then flew back to to Germany back into my comfort zone

Schedule on a DP world I and sort of out of the blue just kept on doing what I’m what I’m doing well just you know playing playing aggressive golf confident Golf and yeah 16 on all 16 I was tied for the lead one shot back and

And got it done on 18 so yeah unbelievable finish and got to get through that 17th though never never yeah probably the best shot of my life five Vine little cut to a back ride flag and um yeah got it on 18 and yeah like I said very emotional because winning

Doesn’t happen often and after that six week to you four four in what hell yeah 20 months 18 19 20 months but yeah I mean yeah after that 6 weeks it didn’t feel like it’s going to happen you know soon and it just happen out of the Blues

Is that your best win probably my best so far for yeah definitely let me show you something here let me show you something here nice shot you get yourself about a 16 foter downhill left to right right here leaving the flag in for you yeah I might leave it in now yeah 10

Just my length not not a coin there yeah I know I know that Memorial some tournament Tristan yeah that’s un what a golf course what a golf course yep absolutely magnificent I’ve got it for you thank you boom I don’t mind losing to birdies mate I don’t mind losing to birdies let’s do

With the American way let’s do it the American way whatever that means whatever that means bit of a fisherman big fella yeah you do a lot of fishing this sums me up yeah 100% um you know growing up you know close to the Krueger park close to a lot

Of lakes father used to take me fishing and um I feel like that’s a a hob I can take off the golf cuz whenever I go everywhere in the world there’s always a pond or a lake or the ocean is nearby and you know just gives me FR you know

Just calms me down and gets my head away from the golf and um yeah I just I just love it rumor has it you were over in the states and you went to some Sporting Good shop and got yourself a fishing one yeah definitely I did um went to a Bass

Pro Shop got myself a little 3piece so there was a little river behind where were you playing played in Orlando played the honor Palmer that week and um yeah there was a little little river behind the hotel as as a walked to the to the little mall to get food the one

Night I saw wow there’s a bass I’m like I can’t leave this place and not catch it you know went to a Bass Pro Shop that afternoon got myself a three piece rod and yeah that was that was me the whole week if I didn’t play golf did you catch

It I did yeah not not that exact one but I I caught some bash bash that week so yeah uh I love it I love fishing and yeah I’m very pleased of ping that gave me this little present and it sort of calms me down whenever I play and look

At that cover it just makes me makes me very happy so many uh golfers have been into fishing so so so many of them I mean you’re not going to be by yourself when it comes comes to fishing so that’s what that all started back there in

South Africa and anywhere you go and now I’m quite big into it I’ve got my own boat and did my Skipper license you know and um yeah I love it it’s it’s full time for me and sometime takes it a little take it too too bit more serious

Than than golf sometimes but um you got to get away from golf sometimes definitely I love it yeah good lad nice head cover like it okay this is the fifth hole at woking this is a magnificent hole bunkering down the left hand side is stunning and

Heather all the way down the right just such a beautiful hole would you hit dri here in the championship definitely yeah you would I would yeah suits my eye straight away feels like I need to Le a a little low one maybe a little bleeder again it’s almost yeah it looks tougher

To the iron I just see the hether straight away to the right here feels like I can almost reach the screen of a driver so definitely the I’m loving it go for it man let’s see well that is just silly good that was a beautiful swing Tristan it’s exactly the way you called

It low that’s going to be close how long is this hole I don’t know we’ll get back to that just past you oh fatted a little bit right next to your t-shot Tristan oh oh nasty little bunkers these wo got yourself a nice little hard pan

Here what do you got here what your setup with the wedgie 60° right there yeah I’ve got the 60 it’s the te so it’s the the lower bounce option um some guys go with the 12 but I like it especially with the hard Turf get that lower bounds and just gets more you

Know Turf through the ball and um the Glides yeah the Glide 4.0 um been using them for a while and I I love it yeah M how much bounces on there that’s a six what’s that L bounce good for firm Turf sharp Leading Edge so it should

Work for this if if I managed to execute it phenomenal T-shirt oh it’s a spinner it’s a lovely spinner oh that’s a gimme yeah he’s looking good isn’t he hey he’s looking the real deal this boy those four wins quick don’t Reon that were flukes you

Could do better he should turn pro this kid right this is to stay in the whatever anything you’re going with a Texas oh well I’ve got to haven’t I I mean I’m not I can’t play the Glide spinner like that I probably could but if you practice for a while okay

Mate got to have a go on it oh it’s looking good stay Tristan what sort of goals did you set yourself at the start of the Year and have you hit them I’m not really goal related you know every I want to go out and win I think that’s everybody’s goal like I

Don’t set shortterm or long-term goals but I think as a golf for there certain things we want to achieve like play in the President’s Cup or Olympics so for the next couple of years that’s sort of that’s that’s the the end goals not the

End goal but to to get into the Pres cup side and play Olympics next year in in France um in Paris so but yeah I mean every week the goal is to win and you know to do my best that sort of short-term goals but long-term goals is obviously dreams more

Dreams than goals to play in certain certain big events like I said Olympics and and President’s Cup and stuff like that you okay you won four tournament in short time I put you on the 7th t on Sunday in any major and you’re tied for the lead can you get over the

Line yeah definitely I mean I would hope so and that’s everybody’s dream to get over the line do you dream do you dare do you dare dream of those lofty HS definitely I’m mean great up standing on the pting green as a 6 seveny old kid

You know you this is a six-footer to to win it on Sunday so yeah you definitely dream it and uh I’ve been in a situation before you know I I feel like whether you play a sunshine 2our event or pj2 event it’s a tournament you need to get

Over the line so major doesn’t really put that those ones aside to me you know it’s still a tournament and you need to stick to the process and and forget about the end goal that will happen when you when you execute your show short and gos good answers absolutely marvelous

Look at this dog leg from right to left over the Heather here at woking golf club is this place stunning unbelievable yes it is unbelievable yeah go hit it mate go give it to it got that dri I’m going to go for that funn enough for that 115 perent that I you’re

Going flat it out okay where you aiming this then you going to fade this or you going I’m going to draw this are you going to give it a draw now you’ve been giving those leaky left to right I’m going to give it a right or left

Okay finishing trying to finish it sort of right off of this bunker oh hang on you’ve nailed it oh my my word that is filthy L catching a piece that’s the one that my my little spy told me about last night that one you’ve got that right to left yeah did

On television have you ever seen a show called Mash mash Mash which is a helicopter at the start and there’s a little guy in there called radar Riley okay so that’s okay yeah it’s you know it’s not because I hit it straight or is anything like that it’s

Just you know okay interesting yeah okay I got 165 I got 79 I don’t think I can get there you know the pros on two will watch this and go well you surely can but it’s a big one for me it’s a big one oh

Yes go on fly be good fly oh wow okay good job all right 105 so what do you got is that 60 s I’ve got a sandwich okay sand on so you have to take a little off that take a little off try and control the

Spin you up I mean you’re probably about 12 ft there so try and put some pressure on you get it inside you turn over turn over a little bit more one bounce and spin it oh just a gorgeous shot go you birdied every hole by the looks of things knock this one

Interesting it’s been an exhibition out of the right out of the right oh you’ve given me a chance to stay in It oh yes oh my goodness now that’s unfortunate said with that hand on heart thank you buddy thank you really good but we’re going down the last for a cup of tea okay we go down the last happy with that really good golfing Tristan really good stuff

J well let’s play for a cup of yorkshire’s finest let’s do it you like cucumber sandwiches sounds nice sure sounds nice talking about cucumber sandwiches ripped absolutely and obliterated it’s been a wonderful driving exhibition thank you very good oh yes that was unbelievable yeah but it

Looks like it’s going a long way and then it just sort of dropped out of the a oh I’ve pulled it get down okay A bit of a G from trees okay wonderful strike that’s close that could cost me a couple Too so you’ve hit it what 10 fet for Eagle five iron from 225 yards mind you so you’ve got uh you’ve been working with Tony Sano yeah so the guys from plld has designed this custom design pter for me um they call it the plld series M face

Mold face so they’ve got three types of mold they’ve got like a fish one that comes out really hot I’ve got the in between not too soft not too firm then I’ve got a little black dot on the top so I don’t I’m one for you asked that

I’ve asked for that black dot so that’s just to get the center of the of the club face you know to not to align the ball I don’t like lines or anything like that too flashy so I I like too flashy or confuses you I’ve got to you know you

Get too precise too precise maybe so I I like to just align it with the face and I’ve got that little black dot there just to get the center of the center of the club face but yeah I mean great work withon and the guys at BL feels really

Good and it’s it got me three victories so very up it yeah go knocking in for an eagle four bootes already well missed his Eagle but still plenty of birdes and that’s another one man that was just uh thank you an exhibition but it was a blast playing
