Sha D has continued to ask for clarity around the hand ball rule he was critical of the decision to order a penalty in evon’s defeat to Manchester City at goodison Park last night let’s speak to our reporter Vino Conor good afternoon to you Vinnie another chat
Then with Shawn D who was pretty cross last night has he calmed down yet he’s calmed down Rob but I think there’s a general feeling around Everton that they’re not getting decisions going their way so far this season go back to the first game of the season and Michael
Keane having a goal ruled out in the game at home to Fulham for a foul by James tarkovski on Leno and effectively Leno caught the ball then dropped it as he landed on tarkovski Keane put the ball in the back of the net but referee
St it at well had already blown up for the foul and took the decision effectively out of V hands and then there was the situation in the mercy side Derby where canate pulls back de Betto who was on the break it seemed a certain yellow card it would have been a
Second yellow card for Kate he wasn’t shown that therefore wasn’t sent off whereas Ashley Young had been sent off in the first half of two bookable offenses in the game at Spurs V sent the referee to the monitor for contact Andre Gomez on Emerson Royale which then went
The V ratified it ruled out Dominick Calbert lewin’s goal and then of course as you mentioned last night that penalty that was awarded for Manchester City look I could see why it was given because the arm was up and it looked like Onana was making himself bigger by
That by the letter of the law I suppose a penal a penalty has to be given but that’s where Shawn dice has a problem he feels that the way it’s been spoken about at the moment it shows that the hand ball law is a little bit too complicated so he still wants it
Simplifying I think everyone’s confused by the hand ball situation manager spoke very clearly to the PO that be early in the season including myself that one’s a really poor one for me I I don’t know where the game if they think that’s a penalty like I said afterwards if that’s
A penalty and Nana should be a goal GE he must have some reflex to get his arm up to stop that if it was deliberate and I know deliberate doesn’t count anymore and natural you know when your arms are it’s all nonsense at the end of the day
It should still back to the old days it was deliberate you can tell referees that’s why they’re referees that’s why they got the experience the feel of a game the knowledge of a game or should do the other frustration who’s giving what I said uh after the situation at
Tottenham I said who’s giving what the linesman gives this one he’s 50 yards away R 12 yards away I I don’t see that we’ve just had the opposite happen at Tottenham which you know so I think the confusion I think they’re under enough um uh scrutiny anyway referees they’re
All about putting them microphones on them all sorts of mad stuff I don’t know why I think we should be taking it away allowing them to referee the game and giving them a bit more um use of their knowledge you know their understanding of the game and put in these rules so
That basically is everyone can just oh but the ru rule states and you know football had always had a kind of interpretation side of it you know that’s part of officiating such a Topsy Turvy sport um and I still think there should be a little tolerance of that and
I think last night I’d be amazed if most referees did down AG go that can’t be a penalty well that defeat Vinnie means they are a point clear of Luton having played a game more as well at the moment at the halfway stage of the season is dce concerned about the position they’re
In I don’t think so because I think he’d have probably taken that when they were hit with a 10-point deduction I suppose the disappointment is that they had opened up a seven-point gap and those two defeats against Spurs and Manchester City have brought them right back
Towards the drop zone at the same time of course there’s been no discernable drop off in performances You could argue that they deserved all three points against Spurs and they weren’t disappointing against Manchester city either maybe a few little details certainly in the goals that they
Conceded last night as well so Shawn D still happy with performances and full of the belief that if he if they can maintain performances then once again the results will come don’t forget of course prior to these two defeats they were on a run of four straight
Wins no I think it’s uh reality if you look when we got the 10 points taken where we were then and where we are now I think there’s a pretty pretty healthy shift um we don’t know the outcome of what might come next U we’ll have to
Wait and see performance levels are good mentality is good we are a bit stretched um that’s sometimes the the challenge of what it is so uh yeah we just get on with it and keep working hard yeah Sean da is right the squad is stretched at the moment but perhaps a
Little bit better news on the injury front today Ashley asley young I should say was out on the grass training by himself with one of the physios but nevertheless showing that he’s on his way back Sean D says there’s still a little bit of a way for him to go before
He’s back joining in with the group as well on top of that dor he says his touch and go for the weekend so again looks like he’s not too far away from a return to action Everton have certainly missed him um they were missing Dominick Calver Leen and James tarkovski from
Training today but Shawn D says there were no real issues no underlying issues with them it seems that they should be fit for the weekend just carrying a couple of knocks but there is a little bit of disappointing news around theis gar albe it it is better than first
Thought he has got a calf problem it looks like it’ll keep him out for at least the next couple of weeks which means he won’t be available to face wolves on Saturday afternoon Vinnie thank you very much for now

This little budget Stone Cold Steve Austin should pipe down and accept the glorious defeat you book cooking cheating scum
Liverpool got robbed on United & Arsenal game. Should get penalty too.
That is armpit front chest and not hand
It was a clear pen..They are trying so hard to make it look like a natural sliding position but it's not!
Onana clearly slided down and raised his hand to deliberately block the ball if you watch it well
LiVARpool and Bottling fans will soon swarm up here and make this about themselves
LiVARpool literally invented "12th player" with all those gifted Trophies since 2019
And Bottlers, well they'll bottle anyways no matter what
I honestly don't know where he thinks the confusion comes from? Maybe he should read the rules, its probably the least confusing penalty decision we've seen. If he wants to advocate for a rules change then have at it but I guarantee at some point in the season he'll be the beneficiary of the current rules, hes only complaining now because they lost a close game.. like all the managers do. You never hear from them when its in their favour. I don't hear Arteta complaining that Liverpool should have got a penalty against them last week.
What's the betting that in Everton's next game , they will get a handball penalty in their favour and win 1-0. Be interesting to see Dyche's comments then…..

So protecting your face is now handball? Your arm isn't going to be stuck by your sides if you make that type of challenge. Refs don't use common sense or their heads, as soon as they see an arm/hand they doubt themselves and bottle it.
There needs more CLARITY on a lot chest high fouls, headbutts, handballs, wrestling, pushing, fight starting and two footed stud tackles keep having different outcomes
Hand was in a natural position. Pretty impossible to slide downwards and not have your arm up.
‘I want clarity’ I want interpretation’ … bla bla bla……clearest pen for weeks even in his day that was a pen. Some ones doing a Fergy !
Meanwhile Rodri playing basketball 2 seasons ago in the 90th minute and the ref ignored it 😂😂
The PGMOL & FA need to introduce a former professional player into the VAR room. All these referees should be experts of the rulebook, but the decisions change literally game by game. A former player will have more understanding of the game itself, and will know much better when a player makes a natural movement, or when phase of play has changed, cause these referees dont have a bloody clue. This Onana handball and Odegaard's basketball dribble versus Liverpool were judged by the same goddamn person, yet the outcome is unexplainable. Salah was pushed into an offside position, and the goal was chalked off, it doesnt make sense!
To many people changing the original rules that were designed to stop cheating.Handball was "If the arm or hand is DELIBERATELY used to gain an advantage" .
Always find it weird that managers claim they don't know the laws of the game, such a strange thing to admit.
Always talking points when it comes to penalties
The problem is that often similar situations get judged differently. Why yesterday it was a handball, when Christian Romero against United wasn't, but a few games later vs Arsenal it was given. I understand him for that.
City One grouping on PGMOL , Var & Reff 😮
TF is Dyche talking about. This was as clear a penalty as I've ever seen and I'm a neutral. Lots of controversy with the other pens mentioned but this one wasn't complicated at all.
Liverpool always every week on robbed !!!
Make it 116. Payed the refs once again
Strange that managers only ask for clarity when they're at the wrong end of a decision. Their inconsistency is as bad as the officials
The law is simple.
If you are Man City you will get all the handballs no matter what.
Other teams challenging for the title won't get those decisions though.
Complaints from losing managers are not persuasive.
We all knew the rules, until they brought in VAR , all of a sudden it’s complicated the game VAR gives nothing to the game only confusing people
Abu dhabi have bought off the refs according to *every liverpool fan*
Nothing controversial there,it was a clear handball and clear penalty even the linesman saw it before VAR intervened…If it happened in the City box he would be speaking differently .
Let him swallow his ego and concede defeat.
The real real reason is that they gambling… typical of the premier league… the highest bidder to fifa… thatd y the don't want football money spreads.
Konate one wasnt a bad decision
Young should have had another booking for kicking the ball away so he was well sent off should have gone earlier.
Konate – even if he had been sent off liverpool would have won 10 v 10 anyway. Everton wouldnt have scored with 15 men in the derby
Im more concerned by decisions which actually affect the result like when an arsenal player literally handballed it to stop salah going through on goal to win the game
theres not an everton fan alive that wouldnt of screamed for a pen had it been the other way round
I'm not an Everton or a City fan, but let's not forget this isn't the first time a handball decision's gone City's way in this exact same fixture – almost 2 years ago, Everton were denied a penalty against a Rodri handball…
Goodness knows what the ruling is with that type nowadays, but Dyche has a right to feel aggrieved in my view.
Everyone will taste the portion…
Dyche has always diverted the spot light away from his sh1t performance's with some nonsense. Everton were white washed, 72% vs 28% possession, 23 vs 9 shots, 772 vs 293 touches of the ball. City were streets ahead in all departments.
That was never handball!! Absolutely disgrace of a decision.
VAR IS NO HELPING THE PREMIER LEAGUE EVERY DESICION IS TERRIBLE VAR ITS A DISASTER FOUR O SIX REFEREE LOOKING THE MONITOR AND NO ONE GET THE RIGHT DESICION.
EPL can shut him up by giving them 10 points back they lost off the field.
His arm shouldn't have been there.. its a handball. The most anti-football manager ever
What a hypocrite.
Yes imo the handball rules are a mess rn. As an Arsenal fan, I’ll use the odegaard hand ball Liverpool as an example. Very clear handball and pen imo. But in this case, I don’t see how you can’t argue it. Refs are inconsistent but asking them to get all handball decisions wrong because they got similar ones wrong won’t fix much. Handballs like this should be given, don’t think you can dispute it.
its handball when it suits Man City
it was handball. end of story
Just the 6 city players screaming in the refs face for a penalty.
No bookings. Disgraceful
