Going over some of your achievements in the servus and Li was like oh so like he fought the Nazis and I was like I I don’t know if they’re in Vietnam but I’m sure he would have if he had the chance oh I did it with a

Knife uh and then second of all uh we’re a big fan uh us at Country Club at Chason not only of your golf company but your story man um it’s kind of a bad label to be put on when someone calls you a disruptor in an industry but when

I hear disruptor I just think creative and we are big fans and that being said we wanted to ask you right out the gates have you seen the infamous country Country Club adjacent pxg back off video I haven’t yet no I look forward to it there’s actually no video that involves Bob

Parsons uh we uh I’m a stand-up comedian and all three of the other guys that are on the podcast are stand-up comedians and we’re all big golfers and over the pandemic we noticed that there was kind of a hole in this industry on how fun this this game is but how

Unapproachable it can be and we have seen not only your company but your content grow the game in a way of not growing it in the fous way that the some people say but opening up the game and that’s we’re huge fans well that’s what

We’re try to do we try to do work on that every day Mark is that so is that something that obviously we all know why we get into golf but not all of us have a lot of money to start their own golf company like was some of that the impetus of

That well you know part of that maybe you know I I’ve always been a big fan of golf and uh affectionado is a better term yeah yeah yeah and and I mean I just morning noon and night think about it and so uh I just just had an opportunity to

Fire up a a golf manufacturer so that’s what I did now you said everybody don’t have the ability to do that that’s why everybody still has some money yes that oh okay okay Hey listen I’m looking at Bob right now and this dude’s got a shiny left earring bro that this dude

Still got a little bit of money dude and these ice teas that we’re drinking are are pretty fire let me tell you so uh I’ve been reading a lot um one of our big things uh that we had a lot of success was um was bringing psychedelics

Into the course um I’ve read a lot of Articles and a lot of things that you’ve said of how you think psychedelics could heal trauma which I completely agree with I think uh psychedelics get a have an extremely bad stigma about them as someone who battles depression anxiety

Has been on all of the anti-depressants um I’ve seen great success in psychedelics have you ever brought it to your golf game have I tried it you know I’ll tell tell you a little story please please please all right okay um I I um you know had a like all

Of many of us did you know I I kind of grew up tough and um I see it I see it and and I uh when I was 17 I joined a Marine Corps this is during the height of the Vietnam War me and two other

Knuckleheads and I don’t think a lot of people were jumping at the opportunity back then right well somewhere somewh some wer so anyhow so so we joined and and um uh we went over and you know I was I was with uh we we were made Riflemen and with the Marine Corps

You’re going to see combat and so uh we were all assigned to different rifle company no just two of us rifle companies my one buddy was stabbed to death in Baltimore before he could leave to go to Vietnam yeah I’ve seen the wire Baltimore is a pretty tough place sorry

To hear that yeah Baltimore is yeah so anyhow so we we uh which by the way I don’t know if you notice but 0311 that’s that’s that’s rifle company right there that’s why that’s why the clubs are called that so so my buddy Charlie right he uh he goes over there and after

Several months he has a hand grenade landed his legs he goes to pick it up and it took three of his limbs off so he lives in South Carolina now not his third leg right well that that I don’t I don’t know okay okay we didn’t we we never drill down to that

Level um uh and me you know I I went to um um 266 Marines Delta company and we were on Hill 190 in Quang n Rush page as far as you could see so cut quick I I seen my first combat I went with him

Four hours and I mean I mean and it was that combat that night combat the next night next night or uh Point man had his legs blown to shred I mean next night you know it’s just we we killed some uh North Vietnamese soldiers I mean and on

And on and on and on so I I I come home I get wounded after a month we’re walking through a village and I’m getting CL I’m learning had a walk point and I’m second I hit a trip wire which I mean was Tri to hand grenade you know

Kind of nasty nasty nasty nasty stuff yeah yeah I mean you know kind of [ __ ] up my arm both legs and and so anyhow I was out and went to um Japan to the naval hospital there was there for a few months was sent right back to the bush

Right so uh but anyhow I come back I come back home and when I came back I was a different guy and both good ways good ways and bad you know and you know for for the good you know I uh uh went back to went went to college and I keep

In mind that’s a terrible student in school I mean terrible I mean the only you’re looking at one right here well well listen and I I can see that now you know you know I was I failed to fifth grade and and I passed fifth grade that

Was easy for me oh there you go proud of you all right you got you got me so far you got me on that one you’re you’re up here thank you thank you see that okay I was ready to fail out of high school and

I joined a Marine Corps and I showed the teachers my orders to leave for Paris Island and they all passed me so I ow to Marine Corps my high school diploma you might say yes right so anyhow so I went to college I graduated Magna cuml wow I took the CPA

Passed it the first time um uh worked a number of jobs uh went to uh I I walked into the Stanford bookstore now I never went to Stanford but I did go to the bookstore and I bought a book on on uh computer program programming in basic

Well I read the book and I taught myself how to program a computer and then I bought at first Apple that came out and then I I bought the first IBM and I wrote on my own code you know and I studied the architecture and so forth

What were you doing that C++ back then you know eventually yeah yeah yeah pass Cal C+ and um so I start started my first business um it took me a while to learn how to do it pars of Technology you know I I um uh started that business I put

40,000 in it sold it for 64 million I uh hey hey I just for the record this is on the record I never asked that question okay and that was a Flex I take that as a sign of disrespect um I waited a long time for this interview and now he just flexed

How much money he sold his company for it’s a little offensive we’re trying to sell Country Club at Jason for like 60 to 150 you know no please keep going I’m sorry anyhow let me let me I interrup let me let me hit you with more so then

Then then I started I started Go Daddy I know this is the money the gold Daddy was the money yeah anyhow yeah come out with a couple billion on that yeah okay now couple billion by the way that was B now phg golf which is going to take care

Of the couple billion that’ll be g b yeah yeah yeah trust me I know golf I know golf a job at Country Club at Jason hey we got him we got him we got him I can use up on the camera so so anyhow but that was the good news the bad news

Is I was a different guy when I came back I mean I was um uh had a quick temper um didn’t like being around people anymore always did didn’t want to be around people um empathetic was it empathetic no no and it just just like

Resentful and uh so so that went one it cost me two marriages and I mean you know both my first marriage uh I was married for 25 years next marriage you know much less than that both of them hung on as long as they good there is a good

Man yeah I know yeah I know I need one of them hats I know I know trust I’m I listen more importantly I need hair like that yeah hey I got plenty I got plenty CLP clip me some okay okay Lea we’ll arrange that okay [Laughter]

So I got it dog I donate so so so anyhow in 2018 I read Michael Po’s book how to change your mind yeah and I told my third wife Renee who I love dearly uh that um i’ like try this and so she had me hooked up in a couple weeks and the

First the first day we did I met with two Gods we did aasa aaska with a lot of talking and so forth a lot of Tears reliving all that [ __ ] you know hard and then um yeah it’s hard and scary and the next day it was it was a a

Cybin and I got to tell you a story so this guy makes this pot and he goes look you’re only going to need one cup of this cuz I made this teapot very strong and it only holds three cups oh gosh I do you know where this is going so I

Drank all three cups and ate the tea bags and I was I was I was all [ __ ] up what about after so well yeah and so so we we go through the same thing and then the next day I take Golf and to answer your question did I ever play golf when

I was doing psychedelics so the next day I went and to play golf and it was like it was like the trees were talking to me and it was like the green was talking to me I have never puted so good a light in my whole life your whole life I mean the

Green was saying put it here Bobby yeah and I would and right in that is that’s every isn’t it crazy and the trees will talk to you and you go hey it’s okay you know what I found the I found the best was when you hit bad shots I giggled yeah it’s not

It’s not lifechanging oh I know I mean and that was that was the big thing that that would we found out my buddy introduced me to it um and the stigma of it like are you going to go insane was so crazy to me when I saw you know when

You watch the Golf Channel and you watch Michael uh what’s his face and he’s doing the back swing but they add in the yellow the yellow line to show the plane when I was I’m out there and I’m taking my practice swing and I’m seeing the

Yellow line and I’m going oh a plane I get it now I’m I understand this game how about that so do you do you do you indulge would you ever get on the course now with a little bit well you know you know I don’t I don’t um what I you know

After that um you know I indulged in um U first first of all cleared everything up for me most of the stuff I mean I I talked to people that knew me they could not get over the change in me like you know they just said present did they

Ever say that they said you were more present you were less present yeah I want to you know happy to listen to them say nice things you know like I like being around people again all that all that kind of stuff so it made a big

Difference to me for me it had been 49 years since the war and I finally came home that’s that’s heavy man congratulations Bob that’s awesome to hear I’ll tell you what that’s really cool to hear Bob it’s good to be home it’s it’s really cool hey it’s good to

Be here in your home thank you for having me Bob this is awesome so anyhow that’s that’s that’s that’s my story yeah and um well if you ever if you ever want to take a couple of Cales and come out on the course and have a good time

Much they enjoy working for you keep doing whatever you’re doing Bob it’s it’s going great and and the woman’s imp perel line the woman’s imp perel line that is the biggest hole in golf right now is is women’s clothing and golf and this is the only company that see that’s

Doing it right I saw the line today it’s insane okay I’m talking fresh clothes for you women good stuff too none of this Aunt Barbara sleeveless Bull good stuff thank you Bob well I’ll tell you what Renee would love to hear you say all oh hey Renee who if Rene’s in on it

She’s doing a phenomenal job well Rene did it all she is doing a phenomenal job as a as a as a guy that just got his girl into golf over the last two years the worst thing is trying to buy your clothes cuz everything is just God awful

And the things that I see in there are are out of this world keep doing what you’re doing Bob it’s great well a couple things I want to point out please please please you don’t take psychedelics without therapy and think it’s going to do anything for you exact very true you don’t take

Anti-depressants without therapy and and and and so what what is is going to help you is this here you know remember that um therapy does the healing psychedelics make it possible you know what I always say Bob I always say the brain is the most powerful enemy and what

Psychedelics will do is give you a sword but you still need to know how to wield that sword you know you need to go to therapy that’s all that’s everything thank you Bob this was awesome man thank you so much this is really cool you’re something else brother no you’re
