The other stats I used from 2016:
The PGA Tour players are the best in the world. They do this on a daily basis. Yes they are superior in every single way to us on the golf course.
But I bet all you see is the leaders, the guys shooting 62 and the superstars. YOU NEVER EVER SEE THE GUYS MISSING CUTS, FINISHING IN THE LAST MONEY PLACE. You NEVER see the scramblers, the guys grinding it out.
You see the highlights, the flash, the pizzazz. That’s good TV. But now I pull back the curtain for you and I looked at all the REAL numbers and averages. The best, the worst on tour and how we are too critical of ourselves and our abilities when even the best in the business are NOT AS GOOD as we think. The highlights reels and TV coverage has fooled us for so long.

Now am I saying that I think they suck? No. I am sayin though that they are not as UNBELIEVABLY good as we think they are. Now yes, they play on slick greens and much more difficult conditions but SO WHAT?
We are weekend warriors, they play daily. We are amateurs, they are professionals and the TOP 200 IN THE WORLD! Perspective is key here.
So next time you’re out there and hit a chip to 7 feet, maybe you are inside the Tour average. But if you hit it to 12 feet, maybe it’s not so bad, you’re only one foot worse than the number 200 player in the world who averages 11 feet! That’s not bad going players.
This is where it’s 100% true we can be as good as the pro’s on the short game. Go look at the percentages they sink from different distances on the greens and their proximity to the hole on chip shots. You can do it!
