This week on Raiders Talk of the Nation the Raiders are sending a message with their shoes the initiative that’s good for the soul Parkinson’s research affected my family for the last several years so this is something that I kind of wanted to bring awareness awareness to and and he’s brought soul to hip-hop
For decades Raider Nation now Rev Run is dropping some knowledge on Raider Nation I started out just loving the game you know I just wanted to DJ I wanted to get on the mic so I had no idea would go back when Run DMC started in 83 I catch up with Aiden
Oconnell as he settles into life rocking the silver and black being able to to put the Jersey on like you said it’s it it’s more than just a small meaning you know it’s years in the making a lot of great players come before us with more than a billion streams on Spotify Rachel
Platen brings her powerful vocals back to allegian stadium and teases a whole new chapter you know they they used to cry when I leave and now they’re like oh no Mommy’s got to go sing for lots of people and then Mommy comes back it’s all happening right now on Raiders Talk
Of the Nation up this is Rev Run and you’re watching Raiders Talk of the Nation peace once in the NFL players get the chance to reveal their passions beyond the field and wear their hearts on their cleats through the my cause my cleats initiative by choosing a cause that’s
Important to them they get to with customdesign cleats and let me tell you they are one of a kind we’ll give you a look at that before the end of the show so make sure you stay tuned but first my girl she’s become a staple at allegion
Stadium with her hit fight song now singer songwriter and author Rachel platen uses her strongest role yet as a mama to inspire some new [Applause] music with you I’m to stand we talked last year last season you performed as well this song is here to help people and so my intention is to
Just spread as much love as I can fight song again it’s such a beautiful song it’s a song that changes people it’s a song that lives on it’s a song that helps people and I think as an artist that’s what you want to create the last
2 years or 5 years really been building a body of work that I am so incredibly proud of of and I have a new record that’s going to be coming out in May and I just put out the First new song in so seven years um called girls and I put it
Out in May and it’s for my daughters and I was so proud to like come on the heels of fight song and how do I interpret that mass of his success out of nowhere and then like continue to do this because I love it and so that’s what I
Kind of found again this year was like no like I’m making music because I I need it and I’m writing music for me that heals me so and and that’s what I did with fight song and I think that’s the only thing that we can do as artists
Is is write what we need and that’s when it reaches people so I’m continually grateful for it and it’s amazing is there one experience that really stands out where you’ve done something with that song like today where people have come up to you and thanked you for it um
There was a woman that wrote me a message on Facebook and she said um my aunt is dying she’s a brain tumor but this song is giving her hope and giving her strength so what we decided to do was fly down and invite all of her
Relatives and all of her family to come and learn the song and we sang it to her and we surprised her and she passed away a couple months later but it was like one of the most beautiful things and I think still is the thing that I remember
And that means the most to me because it was before the song was popular you know it was just on the base of like oh this is healing People is there an organization or a charity that you work with that you hold close to you yeah very dearly um it’s an organization I’ve worked with for 20 years it’s called musician th call and we sing bide to hospital patients and that was kind of what kept me going in
Those 15 years of traveling around the country without you know as an independent artist hustling trying to get my music heard and and that was what kept me going because i’ I’d like get these rejections but then I’d come back and and be like well whatever you know
My my music is reaching people even if it’s only one by one in a hospital room and so who am I to say that’s not enough you know and and that really helped humble me and also keep me like on purpose and it still does to this day so
Yeah musicians on call they’re an incredible organization talk girls with the girls because how special is that to have something that you can get in the studio with something that you love to do and have your babies in there with you oh my God I have two little girls I have
They’re two and four right now uh Violet and Sophie they’re home and and I wrote one of the songs on the album I wrote for them it’s called girls and I released it on Mother’s Day and and I’m just so impressed and Blown Away with the way that they are understanding and
Starting to understand what their mommy does and like you know they they used to cry when I leave and now they’re like oh no Mommy’s got to go sing for lots of people and then Mommy comes back um but not only that I’m also really proud of
Their the reaction that the song has gotten being an independent artist it’s been amazing like there’s been tens of thousands of Tik toks and and so and Instagram reels made using the song and people are um it’s touching them too and it was my advice as from a mother to my
Daughters of what I hope for them and wish for them in the world again this is not your first time here you’ve experienced Raider Nation what is so special about this crowd and the energy that Las Vegas bring it’s like really passionate like the tailgate is probably
One of the best I’ve ever seen in the world powerful fans you know like you guys are die hards it’s awesome the Raiders organization is comprised of men and women who show a fierce commitment to the Excellence both at work and in the places that impact them outside of the Office oh yeah oh yeah this is awesome I’m representing the National Organization of minority Architects woo that is nice my uh second oldest uh Children’s Hospital saved his life for my family it’s something that’s important to us and my wife has a personal connection she works with families who have autistic
Kids oh yeah the backwards C that’s near and dear to our hearts my wife’s uh brain child she came up with a a nonprofit organization to uh to eliminate child trafficking the organization is called the 100 black men and they are an organization that helps to mentor and educate young
Men and women people from challenged situations this is awesome when we come back on Raiders Talk of the Nation we go one-on-one with the Raiders QB we’re going to put in as much work as possible try to work as hard as possible and I got to be the guy
That’s looking to find what you got to do next what’s going on you know what I’m saying Raiders Talk of the Nation we’ll be right back Raiders Talk of the Nation has been brought to you by allegian air the official Airline of the Las Vegas Raiders powered by Cox a proud partner
Of the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this season I caught up with rookie QB Aiden o Connell to find out more as he stepped into the most important role in football you know what’s cool about you is that story that you have six years of what you’ve been doing to get to this
Point you don’t hear that a lot you know in sports to be able to have that motivation to continue to work on yourself and to be here have that number four on right now like you said it’s cool it’s surreal but what do you want to prove this year I think I’m just
Trying to work as hard as possible I know I’m you coming as a rookie and you’re you know behind right when you get here um guys have been in the league for years um and they’ve been you know in the offseason for a while so I got a
Lot of ground to make up um so I’m trying to study the Playbook as much as possible L to the back corner touchdown Raiders silver and black right we’ve seen it we’re here now in Las Vegas for you what does it mean to actually be a part of the organization
It is so beautiful to see what it’s done the progression to be here in Vegas but what does it truly mean to you yeah like you said it’s historic um there’s meaning behind it it’s um you know what Al Davis did years ago and for the league and being a coach um commissioner
GM everything he did um was just really cool and so being able to to put the Jersey on like you said said it’s it it’s more than just a small meeting you know it’s years in the making a lot of great players come before us uh side
Note because of my ADD I here to sh playing right now do you know this song you better know it as a Raider I do I def I definitely do know this song mostly from the weight room but yeah yeah do you know the the words I don’t
Know the words yeah I like yeah there you go there you Go okay you want to do rapid fire uh let’s do favorite sneaker um Nike Free Runs oh I’m not a big shoe guy but that’s the my favorite shoe Nike Free run super comfy okay there you go favorite song favorite song Tell Me You Love Me gantis
Oh you knew that already favorite hobby uh golf are you good or is it pretty good pretty good not not the best on the team but i’ I’d say I’m probably up there I haven’t played with any of the guys yet though so it’ll be uh hopefully this
Weekend or something okay so far who’s the funniest on the team um I mean I spend the most time in the QBs and Brian harder is pretty hilarious so he’s he’s made me laugh a good amount okay who is likely to be the loudest in a full room the loudest in a full
Room um one I’ll probably shout out one of my rookies Nesta nesta’s pretty loud defensive lineman you know I’m going to tell him that right you can tell him if you were not a football player what would you be that’s a great question I’d probably try to be a golfer and fail um
Maybe an NFL chaplain that that that’s kind of the dream job so we’ll see though we I don’t really know yeah we’re taking it one step at a time hey you got a long life ahead of you too you can always change careers later on and favorite football memory that you’ve had
So far oh that’s a great question um I had a lot of great ones in college probably you know our Bull game in 2021 we beat Tennessee that was that was a great day finally who is your role model someone you look up to someone you might
Have emulated uh in the league or anyone else favorite quarterback was Tom Brady growing up um so big big Brady fan watched have watched him for a long time I think he’s the goat still to come this is a big deal just the whole Raiders outfit alone the
Game is one thing but the outfit is its own Beast plus my grandmother uh has to wait due to cancer you know so uh that’s why I chose to you know choose that that uh calls and I know you know a lot of people go through you know C Cast is
Very normal so that’s why I chose this this calls but first steephen Wolf’s John K may have been Born to Be Wild but these days he is rocking For A Cause close to his heart my wife and I became increasingly aware of the fact that our fellow living creatures we running out
Of space and many of them were disappearing we sold all of the music industry assets all our royalty R aest recording so we would have more time and and uh funding for our foundation is the ma K foundation and we learned that there were people who instead of unlike
Some of us who receiving a spotlight had dedicated their lives to something greater to themselves from the time they were in their 20s and those are the people who we wanted to support raer Talk of the Nation will be back after this this segment has been brought

Was on the stage um back then there a whole another level of of it was different now that Jay zon took over it’s a whole another level we got Usher this is going to be crazy this year that’s all I can tell you crazy you’ve played in stadiums across the world do
You have a favorite I mean you can say Alle allegian cuz we’re here but do you have a favorite well I just played Yankee Stadium on August 11th you know so that was just recently so that’s my last recent memory so that’s my favorite at right now I want to talk football
Since we’re here watching the Raiders kick some butt uh what is it about that logo when you see it and what is it about Raider Nation that just really stands out than the rest of the team well I think about DMC he was the first to rock that jacket and that’s when NWA
Came after d so all I knew is D used to rock his Raiders jacket with the gold chain and now I seen all the people with the chains outside I’m like oh this all came from back when run DM see and Daryl was wearing those chains so I’m like all
Right this is a big deal just the whole Raiders outfit alone the game is one thing but the outfit is its own Beast did you have a favorite player while you were watching is there anyone from the OG side the Hall of Famers or any current player right now that you love
Nah I was I was too much into trying to figure out when I’m going to get my jacket on I I felt like I was a player you did feel like a player yes okay what position would you play you are currently in the NFL drop it to me right

Going to be uh about Parkinson research uh uh more specifically the Michael J fox Foundation Parkinson’s research affected my family uh for the last several years so this is something that I kind of wanted to bring awareness uh awareness to and make sure everyone knows that Parkin is a real disease and
Affects a lot of people this year I decided to do something along the lines of mental health um is impact my family very deeply uh and I figure this will be opportunity for me to give back and show awareness by plann with these cleats my cause is heart power Incorporated um in
The champ Camp um in 201 my wife and I started heart power and the main function of heart power is to host charitable youth football camps and we’ve done it through several States Across the Nation so my cause is the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s uh research um and it’s something that’s

The Raiders will always have a special place in my heart I was born on March 16 1997, I was raised in Oakland, CA and I have always been a Fan Of The Raiders. This team has been through a lot of turmoil and has not been the same since the passing of Al Davis Who passed away On October 8, 2011 at age 82 Years old. Al Davis’s Motto: COMMIT TO EXCELLENCE, JUST WIN, BABY! ONCE A RAIDER, ALWAYS A RAIDER, OAKLAND TO LOS ANGELES BACK TO OAKLAND TO LAS VEGAS, This will always be my team, win lose or tie no matter what happens this will always be my team! The Raiders have always been my favorite team from the beginning of my life and I have always loved this team and I always watch their games whether on Tv or live at Stadium. My love for this team is always unconditional and always forever because that is who a true Die Hard Raiders fan would do for this team no matter what happens.☠️☠️☠️☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🦾🦾🦾🦾❤️❤️❤️❤️

SINCE AL DAVIS COMMITTED THE MORTAL SIN TRADING GRUDEN TO TAMPA BAY AND GRUDEN TORE UP AL DAVID & THE RAIDERS 48 TO 24 THE LOSING CURSE STARTED.
