The BEST Woods of 2023!! Soon to be a BARGAIN Price?!
In this video we talk about one of the best deals you can get this January! The Stealth 2 range of fairways woods for me was one of the best and if you’re looking for a bargain in the new year make sure you check these out!!
We all know how important getting the right driver is but I believe getting these two clubs correct in your golf bag is drastically going to help you lower your scores next year get that handicap down and start to get you enjoying your golf that little bit more by hitting
Much easier shots not only off the tea but also out of the Fairway and we are talking Fairway woods today so under these head covers I have the stealth to fivewood and seven wood both set to neutral settings seven wood not adjustable fivewood I’ve got it in the
Low spin options so two different options here two great clubs which are perfect for this Par Four so if you’re somebody who is struggling with maybe not hitting your driver great and then you want something in the bag what options have you got in your bag have you gone traditional three-wood and
Fivewood have you gone a fourwood and a seven wood have you maybe put a nine wood in that’s something I need to test with mid- handicap Dave who certainly needs something to get that little bit of launch but what are your options after drivve what’s giving you confidence if you’re struggling with a
Driver what can you go to and what’s in your golf bike have you got a three-wood that you don’t use one of these options could be perfect so I’ve had to get away from the UK and I’ve had to get to some warmer weather to be able to get these
Videos for you guys we are here today at the Fantastic alzora Resort out here just outside of Dubai in adjan around about 20 minute drive from the airport we’ve got a par four here which again I could hit a driver on and this is something where you could go for driver
It is only around about 330 yards to the green it’s a little bit into the breeze today but if I go driver and I go on a line that is exactly towards the hole we’re going to potentially start to see that my bad shot is to the right I go
Into the mangroves and we never see that golf ball again so perfectly here I don’t want to be going aggressive we’ve also if I do hit a good drive we’ve got a bunker in the middle of the Fairway that is right at the pitching distance
So I’ve got two options here I can go on an aggressive line I can go at that bunker that would swallow the driver and I can hit my fivewood here nice and comfortable that’s launch just left fading nicely and that should give me around about 240 to 250 yards that’s
Pitched and left me around about 100 yards still there potentially flirting with that trouble so this is where you’ve got to think here do you want to flirt with the trouble or do you want to just play a little bit more safer and for me this is where I’ve dropped down
And I’ve added this seven wood the stealth 2 seven wood into my bag it’s not the plus range it’s the standard stealth 2 it has a little bit of a bigger profile behind the golf ball again fills me with confidence and with this I feel like I can play down a
Little bit I can also hit it nice and high which is what a seven was designed for but I can go a little bit safer here and leave myself around about 150 yards in we’ve got two very easy options with this I feel like I can put a nice easy swing on this
And we know exactly what we’re going to get a little fade there that’ll be just over the bunker leave me a little bit longer into that green but two very easy clubs for me to hit if I’m not hitting my driver great which I’m not at the
Moment then these are great options to go to and this for the everyday golfer I think if we improve this part of your golf by get two clubs in there that you are confident with if you’re struggling with a driver you’ve got that option you’re also comfortable with them off
The Fairway because that’s a big part of Fairway Woods we want to be able to for you to go okay I can hit it on a par four if I need to get there I can also Hit It On a par five and get it down there and feel comfortable you’re not
Trying to hit it too hard you’re not trying to jump on it so let’s go and do that now so we can see the fivewood there nicely in the Fairway we do have the seven wood here so left is around about 120 yards to the flag so pretty
Good just about got over these mangoes I once I’ve gone on wanted to go on a tighter line otherwise we might have been in there but two in great positions but now let’s get to a hole where we’re looking to it off the Fairway what do I change but comment below guys what
Fairway Woods are you using what have you had in your bag are they something new are they something old how long have you had them and how are they performing are you looking for next year you may be not looking at the drivers you may be
Looking for some of the Fairway Woods to come out certainly going to be some interesting ones out there I’m looking forward to testing probably the Fairway Woods a little bit more than the driver seeing obviously we haven’t seen much differences in drivers but can we get a
Fairway wood that can beat these stealth twos now in the Fairway I’ve got the seven wood here because I’ve got around about 220 yards so am I going to change anything here the answer is no even if I’m hitting it off the te I’m still trying to get that same kind of ball
Position just ahead of Center maybe a ball in front and I’m still trying to think yes my angles are ever so slightly back I’m still trying to then transfer my weight and hit down onto this golf ball and yes we are still trying to take a divot with this club ever so slightly
We’re not trying to dig in but we are trying to take a divot and still hit down but you’ve got to think here what are you trying to get from your Fairway Woods often if you like Dave you are trying to get a little bit more height
And you’re trying to get more Landing angle so think there exactly what clubs do you need there is plenty of clubs on the market now which are helping you get higher launch and a quicker stop so make golf easy as possible go and get fitted don’t go into the lowest spinning model
If you’re trying to get Landing angle think about how many times you have Fairy Woods into the green are you going through the back of the green because it’s coming out too low is it coming out too low pitching short and going into the trouble do you need some more carry
Then you need to think maybe you go for a little bit more forging something that’s trying to launch you a little bit higher as opposed to something that’s a little bit too low spin which is not going to help you so I’ve got my seven wood here I’m just going to hit this
Normal nothing different ball position the same I’m trying to get through to that finish let the club do the work and just behind the ball sits ever so nice nice and big and that just launches without even trying a nice little divot there straight towards the flag that’s just
Gone past but a fantastically easy Club to hit and this is why I’ve liked them so much this year if I was a little bit further back though for example with that fivewood what I could do I might like the size of that profile head so I
Might like the smaller head which I certainly do but if I need something to launch a little bit higher we can move that weight system to the back we can thank get that launching a little bit higher and Landing a little bit softer we don’t have to have the weight forward
Because if we’re going into greens more than we are off the te and get that weight back get it launching nice and high you’re going to see a smaller profile which might suit your eye better but fantastic options on the Range this year from tailor maid let’s hit one more
T-shop and like I said there in the Fairway find something that is adjustable something for you which gives you multiple options if you’re going to use it off the tea and the Fairway then you want to have some adjustability on a day where you may be using it off the
Tea more you could change those settings push it forward so it’s got less spin or if you’re using it off the Fairway more and you need Landing angle you could have that weight back just think where you use your Fairway Woods are you more hitting them into the greens are you
Using them off the tea if you want the combination of both then you can set these clubs up just for that and this is certainly for me where I found that I want that little bit more adjustability in the fivewood probably something I use a little bit more off the te than I
Thought I would cuz I can get some good distance off there with a low spin mode I can get it out there to around about 2 6 270 on a really good hit obviously when I’ve gone to the seven wood I want forgiveness I want something that’s
Going to help me launch it high that bigger profile does exactly that it’s going to be nice and forgiving I’m probably going to play more knockdown shots with that I’m going to try and maybe okay I can take a bit off I can fade it you’ve got to think again there
What do you want from these Fairway Woods a seven wood you want it to launch High Dave certainly found for him as a mid- handicap golfer the seven wood could be a great option it certainly performed better than his hybrid it’s got him that little bit more launch but
Also got him the Forgiveness that is what he was looking for for me like I said Guys these for me are the best Woods that I’ve tried on The Fairway range this year I’ll be very interested to see who can beat or if it can be beaten next year but comment below what
Has been your favorite Fairway Woods what Fairway Woods are you using and what are you looking forward to next year is there any certain brand that you’re looking out for even there an off-centered hit coming off nice and fast because we have got that speed pocket we all hit shots like
That but if we can get the forgiveness and we can still hit Fairways what more are we looking for

I've got 5 wood ,7 wood ,9 wood 13 wood and a number of hybrids as irons are my big problem…
Love my Ping G425 Max 7 wood. It’s a cheat code
Favorite is a Callaway Big Bertha '21 5 wood. LOVE IT!
Finicky Cobra 3 wood may get replaced in the future.
This past season I had Callaway Rouge ST max, 3 and 5. But after playing with them all year, everything was going left with their slight draw bias. Even 3 wood off the tee or in the fairway nine times out of 10 I was overdrawing it with my draw type swing.
While getting custom fit for my TSR3 driver in the fall, I tried the TSR3 3 wood and it blew me away. By far best looking and feeling Fairway wood I’ve ever had and I’ve been playing nearly 30 years. Custom ordered both 3 & 5 at – 1/2 in. Short, hosel setting at B1 and T2 heel weight.
2024 will be noting but driver and irons for me
I don’t play a 3 wood – most of the time it’s out of my bag and I play a Mizuno CLK 2 hybrid set at 16 degs (std) instead. Shorter shaft helps with strike, and also stays lower than a fairway wood. Probably only sacrifice about 15 yards compared to 3W (have hit over 250 yards many times) and I don’t play a lot of long courses. My main go to is the Tour Edge CBX19 5 wood at 19 degs and then have a Wilson C300 4 hybrid at 21 degs which is like butter off the face. Transition to irons at 5i. Can’t see myself changing this setup any time soon.
Since 2021 I have carried 4 and 5 hybrid and a 7 and 3 wood. The brands are PXG 0317 XF gen 5 hybrids and 7 wood with 60 G 41 inches , stiff even flow CB and my 3 wood is cobra LTD with a regular HZDS shaft 42.5 inches. My driver can give me fits , I have a tendency to get steep . I will use the 3 wood as a T club and use the 7 wood for anything else. Maybe 3 wood off the deck if no trouble , but generally count on my pitching 30-60 yards. I believe this distance is critical to have confidence with.
A few months ago, I changed from the Ping G425 3 wood to the Paradym X 3 wood and hitting my 3 wood a lot better and trusting it. Same with my Hybrid, went from a PXG 4 hybrid, to a Paradym X 4 hybrid (not super hybrid).
I like my 3. I found an M5 with a moveable weight. Love it.
Yep 5 wood set as 4 wood and 7 wood plus hybrids totally works for me!
Still have R7 3 and 5 wood in the bag. Looking to upgrade this year, possibly the g430 to match the driver but will go with the best performer when I go get fitted
Great video I carry in bag when driver not playing as usual taylormade stealth 2 HL 3 wood great easy club to hit and a stealth 2 hd 7 wood the easiest club to hit get Dave to try 👍
Carry an old TM R5 5 wood and a PXG 7 wood. Both are easy to hit and give great results (mostly). Can’t think of better options for me as I’m happy with performance.
Just put a PXG Gen6 5 Wood in the bag to replace my 3 wood and love it. So much easier to hit and straighter than my 3 wood and don't lose much distance.
I tried my mates 7 wood (original stealth) about 6 weeks ago. He’s not seen it since , and won’t be seeing it again 😂 love it. Going to get a 5 wood too
Great video Chris. Just the subject I’m pondering atm. I’ve got a Ping g430 5 wood set as a 4 wood and a 5 and 6 hybrid, but following some lessons which means I hit a better ball, I’ve found that my gapping isn’t quite right
Another great video. This past season I went from as my only fairway wood a Callaway Mavrik Max Heavenwood along with a Callaway Epic 4 & 5 Super Hybrid to a Mizuno ST Z 230 5 wood, a Ping G425 7 wood (20.5* down to 19.5*), and a TM Stealth 2 HD 7 wood(23*) as a 9 wood. I use the 5 wood mostly as my alternative Tee club on holes where driver is either too long or brings trouble into play. Depending on the course and time of year I will change out the 9 wood for Srixon Z U85 4 utility iron.
Me (20 HC) adding a 9 wood was one of my best decisions. Tell Dave he won't regret it. I can't hit a hybrid to save my soul and my 5 iron about 150 ish and didn't go any farther than my 6 iron. So I added the 9 wood. My 7 wood is my 170 club and the 9 wood fill in the gap between the 6 iron and 7 wood. Don't use a 3 wood either. So I have 5, 7, 9 woods which I hit very straight. Can't wait until spring (April) when the snow goes away. Have a great day.
Well done Chris I use a 5 wood it's a great club 👍 😊
Got ping g410sft 5 wood which will be getting replaced next year as I don’t think I need sft anymore and a stealth 7 wood which is best club in my bag. Ping g25 3 wood occasionally makes an appearance but not often
Stealth hd driver, callaway mavrik max 3 wood, ping g400 5 wood , sim max 7 wood in my bag. looking to replace the 5 wood this year , hate hybrids just get on with them
I recently started using a 7 wood I got from eBay and really like this club. Length of a 7 wood is also good
