Goff has the mobility of a tree, can NOT throw to deep receivers and more recently panics and loses the ball. Easy for all NFL teams to plan for defence against the Lions and it shows with the Lions finding it more and more difficult to score. It is not our defence losing games but rather the offence and game prep. i.e. coaching. Decision should be easy not to extend Goff. We need a dual threat QB and we drafted one thank goodness. Bring on Hendon Hooker

The main problem is Aaron Glenn and our defense. Our offensive line is injured and playing like crap. Your QB can't be expected to score 30+ every game because your defense sucks and your offensive line has been trash.

Stick is acting scared, not stoked. You have to see how this plays out, just like DMac said. Goff is a good quarterback, but limited. I want to see how far he takes us this year and, probably, next year. Though next year he will have a short leash on him if he isn't back to where he was. Sinking 50 million per year into a guy who requires a perfect pocket, a great running game and receivers just isn't possible.
Detroit was way more dangerous at the end of last season than they are now. There was less tape on Ben Johnson's offense and how Goff operates in it and now other teams are getting an idea how to defend it.
Spence and I share the exact same sentiment as pertains to Jared Goff. When it's comes down to winning a big game for the division or a playoff game for all the marbles. I have absolutely no faith in this guy. I just don't trust him.
Most importantly Goff needs all his starters healthy on the offensive line.

The difference here is Caldwell wasn't also a salary cap issue (he was a "i wanna hire my friend casualty), Goff will be a cap issue… that balance has to weighed and considered too.
My thing is can Goff win you a Super Bowl? Yes
Will you WIN a Super Bowl because of Goff? No
That has to be a serious conversation, he's a play action QB that can hit crossing strikes to kill you within 20 yards meaning he needs the correct tools and system, so that conversation on cost analysis with the pending contract is the real talking point needed
