Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!
I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Love this type of video. Would be great with a higher handicapper, especially someone who's a short hitter.
Working with a coach. Trying to get more consistent with striking and into the 70’s!
Great stuff Matt. New clubs are working well. Driver is a beast.
Excellent video – the course management commentary is insightful and helps us hackers!
I am working on my short game as I am losing too many shots. 2024 will be my four year playing golf at a 12 handicap I want to try and get into single fingers.
Sunday at the Aroeira club house is the best vibe anywhere we have played.
Love these playing strategy videos and the sense of humor, too. You kind of fell in love with the 58 degree and in bit you in the end. I thought that last chip would have been easier with a 50 or 54 as the ball was sitting on an upslope. Keep up the great work!
Really enjoy this type of video and also like your idea of doing it with a higher handicapper.
Family Feud in the US
How long have you been using the prayer grip? I learned of it on Golf Sidekick lady pro series and love it. It seems to help with keeping shoulders square.
BTW – Love your teaching style and channel.
Great golf Coach— purtee course too!!!
Nice shots Matt. I need to get to the indoor range in Michigan and counting the days to spring
Course management will shave strokes off the round. Aim for middle of green and putt to the edges (thanks Annika).
Hey Coach.. great to see a video from you! I'm playing 5 days a week in the frosty mornings in the U.S. I'm working on strike. Having a few breakthrus there and I want to get them into my thick skull. Been a huge fan for years.. best to you and your family!
Well coach, I’m not going to worry about golf until the snow is gone. My goal last season was to play less golf and make time for other things, and my handicap dropped 4 strokes. Next season, I’m just going to get out there and have fun again and not stress over swing positions, or gaining distance, or anything like that 🙂
50K is not representative of the quality. Mind you're probably responsible for a decent percentage of Mark's subscribers ❤ and you have started late.
2024 Targets for me are swing plane width as I have a habit of collapsing my right arm as I start my back swing. This leads me to then cast the club and strike varies. Also I lose distance because of this. My coach is excellent as he doesn’t overcomplicate things and just gets me to work on minimal things at a time instead of frying my brain with too much.
Another good video coach, and I like these sort of videos more than the technical ones. 👍⛳️🏌🏼♂️
"really enjoying these new shafts" – Coach (I'm not a shaftoid) Lockey
Love these videos! 👍 really good course management tips. More please.
2024 target is single digits. Playing a Pro-Am Sunday. Currently working on Dan Grieve 3 releases to improve my shortgame and have set up my PuttOut in my garage formdaily putting practice.
How are you NOT OVER 50K subscribers bruh?!?!?! Love these sessions where we all punch our tickets to get inside your head to glean some wisdom Coach! Being in CA, I have the good fortune of having some decent weather for practice during the winter…. So much to work on…
So why is it you don't use the triple track marking lines when putting..? A really lovely looking course, very green, and with so much water & trees I would never find those fairways either..🤔🤦🏽♂️, (a 21 handicapper..🤣🤣)
ArrowAirA!
My guess is Aro Era to pronounce it Coach
At the gym improving fitness specifically towards swing, using a golf net when I can in the garden to keep contact crisp and up the driving range to keep flight path where I want it … can’t wait to get out there again in spring. Target next year – break 80 (85 first ‘though😂)
23 h/c golf in Australia is a 52 weeks of the year sport so I play every week. Home course is top 100 in Australia Graham Marsh designed and long. Working on driver as last few weeks gone off the boil normally quite consistent. Usually hit 10/12 fairways out of 14. 4 par threes are mid iron to 9i distance. If I get a good drive in play I'm making bogey aim is to get h/c to 18
Good video content. Definitely have a high handicapper with you. Happy to volunteer 😂
Appreciate the course management video! Yes, more to help us short hitters and high handicappers would be beneficial. Thanks Matt!
I had a chance to play 9 holes at my local this morning and decided to change up my strategy. Bogey golf was the plan and keeping it in play was the method. Shot my best score for 9 holes to date (+7). It was +8 thru 8 but finished with a rare birdie. Course management is now a top priority.
Cardio excercise and gym workout to be able to swing hard – ie fast. And endure the whole round on foot below 4 hrs easily.
After X-mas starting off in a Sim going thru an online Academy golf set.
Since it’s freezing here in northern New York, just south of Montreal, I will be putting indoors, watching ALL your videos, riding my bike on a trainer in the basement, and may head to an indoor facility to hit some balls and perhaps have a lesson with a PGA professional. I have to do all this because you just won’t come visit me here at the North Pole.
..love love golfing in Portugal any time of the year, working on aim and target line choice this winter……..
Subscribed. 17:14 Driver all day or a 3-wood.
…too much talk and not enough just playing the game.
great golf lovely course very intuitive
In the winter do we want more loft on our driver? I play in cold & wet conditions. Typically 45F. Thanks for all the great content.
The driving is a definite improvement Coach.
