The entire r/golf community on Reddit has been waiting for these, doesn't surprise me they sold out
Fair play to you Simon for giving direct and truthful info on the industry – keep it going please
Good points.
We really need some Kirkland Golf Courses. Affordable, quality courses with fair prices on hot dogs and pizza.
Who pays for the billions of dollars of sponsorship the clubs, ball and apperal manufacturers throw at Pros? We do. It fuels the new clubs being produced every year, to create the demand from people who want a quick fix to their swing and would rather pay £1200 for a set of irons than £200 on some lessons that will really fix their problems.
Go Kirkland. Knock them out there double quick guys. Make another batch now you know there is a vast market out there.
Hi Simon, just bought a set of taylormade p770 which I love but losing 7 to 10 yards compared to my previous srixon ZX5 irons. Would altering v the lofts to the ZX5 specs gain some of those yards back
If you ever want to buy golf gear at Costco, leave the wife at home!!!! That way you only spend twice as much than you intended to, not 6 times as much!!!!!😉😉😳
Kirkland needs to just fix their logo for golf.
People will buy these because they can return them 2 years later when Costco releases a new design. That's why they buy there due to their return policy.
As you mentioned, you can buy these clubs without risk; you can take them back if you don't like them. Also, if their wedges and golf balls are examples, we can expect that the quality of these clubs will be equal to the name brands we find in our pro shop. Nevertheless, I agree when you recommend buying a good set of used clubs for much less. Yet if Costco starts to get the hang of this and comes out with starter sets of excellent quality at used club prices, which you can also return if you don't like them, why would anyone buy older clubs? In the end what Costco is doing will help to make golf more popular and more affordable. Kudos to them!
Simon, what irons with traditional lofts would you recommend for a mid handicap golfer?
To be honest it doesn't matter the club it's the person using them, generally I get pretty bored with all the hyped up TaylorMade etc brands, I use the inesis 100 irons go on the course have a game enjoy it no matter the score, for me it's the getting out with friends and have a laugh.
But on the issue with how good irons are or who sells what and those are better for beginners etc, the truth is put any iron in a pros hands they should be able to hit them well no matter the price, make, etc.
The last six games I've played I have won each time by a few shots, against players with set off very good so called brands TaylorMade, Mizuno and cobra irons and yes full sets, me 9 clubs, yes I have a good honest fairway woods cobra king SZ driver and 5 fairway wood and 5 hybrid which I brought new year and a half ago but the irons are as I said inesis 100 had them 2 and 1/2 years best irons in my opinion.
Have tried other Brad's like Mizuno, titlists but I found that did I really want 6,7,8,9 when you could have 2 irons that basically are in-between lofts that with a little practice know what distance you do with a full swing to half swing, and having less clubs to think about as you know many only achieve 5-10 yards different.
Finally don't worry what others have in their bag just concentrate on yourself, most players are just interested in brand snobbery.
Sometimes I do smile when I've had 4 pars and a birdie on the long 9 course with the Faithful inesis 100 irons hahahaha 😂
