I also think hitting the gym super hard everyday as a young teen can stunt your growth as well because if your body is using all it’s testosterone for recovery and building muscle there will be no testosterone and growth hormone left for growing taller
I am 13 almost 190 pounds 5,9 I’ve been working out for about 6 months with some simple workouts but gaining a lot of muscle is this still stunning my growth because technically I am obese is this stunning my growth??
A surplus and a deficit are equally detrimental for a teenager. Eating at maintenance while properly training for Hypertrophy and strength is the key to keep progressing. Btw this “maintenance calories” will keep increasing quite rapidly, given the fact that teenagers are constantly growing.
I had a friend in school (we were 14). He was going on a crazy cut and showing everyone photos of how shredded he was. I just said “oh cool” but I really should have warned him. He would have been at single digit body fat while doing this.
im on a body recomp but there is no way in hell i can track my calories, it’s either my mom makes it or my grandma makes it, i can roughly estimate my rice but something like chicken curry is a no bueno, my grandma and my mom does everything by eye.
true but im kind of nearing my bulk i think might do another month not including a potential mini cut period to keep on going.im not tall so me trying to pack more weight at my size isint optimal
I am 18 and recently just started counting calories. Since I got to college I have been struggling to eat enough and I estimate I have been averaging a deficit of 200 calories per day. I am 5'9" 140lbs and I want to gain weight. I am broke and don't have access to a kitchen or even a good grocery store, just campus dining halls. Does anyone have any tips for better diet in the dining hall?

I’m 12% body fat but still look kinda chubby around the belly, should I really try and bulk or just maingain?
For a lot of teens if they bulk reasonably they can gain without any noticeable fat gain.
I always ate normal unless on holiday then i would eat smoothies packed with nutrients and protein and it helped alot
Man do i have to stay fat until im 21
I’ve been working out and trying to grow muscle for the past few months, but I also play highschool soccer. Do you think I should cut?
What’s the max amount of weeks you should cut for, in a 600 calorie deficit as a teen

I want to look older
Should i cut at 24-26% bf at 15?
Don’t bulk to hard cause once you exit adolescence it’ll be harder to lose the fat
I don’t think a cut for a few weeks will do anything but a cut for a whole year or more would definitely do something
How do I lose my excess body fat then? My body fat percentage is probably around 20%. Any advice?

Makes sense to me.
