Man you and I are so similar when it comes to our swing challenges. Let me tell you that I've been doing the exact same work and the absolute hardest thing to overcome is your inherent 'want' to pitch the path out to the right on the downswing. Whether you're tilting or whatever to achieve it. So long as you hold onto that desire to do so, not matter how conscious or subconscious, you're always going to have struggles going left. (I know because I've spent years trying to do it and when you look on video you still see flip and its almost always because of rightward path). It makes sense when you hear guys like Milo talking about hitting cuts because at least it gets out that want to get path out rightward. I bet you if you're anything like me you can probably feel TONS of 'fade bias' in the swing and still hit tight draws because regardless of how left you feel, your club (with wrist conditions, etc. that I'm sure you don't even have to think about) will still be delivering the club from the inside despite feeling otherwise.
I would love to see a side by side of your swing today with a swing from 5 years ago…100 plus lesson with so many different coaches and I bet very little has changed in your positions.
Swing changes are so hard.
Brendon there is so much moving around in your swing and I think your trigger just makes it worse! When your changing your technique you need to actually feel what your trying to do and having a big overdone trigger will only make that process harder! I bet if you took your horizontal trigger out and tried not to do it you would still do it to some degree…. why don't you get on sportsbox 3d and make a swing and see if your within the recommended numbers I bet your way outside of the normal amounts of sway allowed especially at the top… If your chest is to far behind your pelvis there is no way to hit the ball solidly unless you slide
You're swinging so hard, tiring yourself out.
It seems as soon as you go at it full speed you revert back to your old 'armsy wristy' release pattern. perhaps build up very slowly with the speed while closely monitoring yourself on video playback, then as soon as your old habit(s) creep in – step it back again.. eventually you should be able to switch to full speed.
Too many thoughts! KISS!
That last swing looked incredibly effortless! I have the same issue of snap hooks. Partly from stalling my upper body and flipping my hands thru.
I like your channel. I’ve felt you have always prioritized distance over accuracy. Maybe that gets more clicks so I get it. You are plenty long already. I bet if you took 75% swings for an actual full round of golf you’d drop your score 5 shots. Embrace accuracy over distance!
Your arms are stuck behind you in the backswing and in transition they get even more stuck behind you. That is the issue. I would get a head cover and place it under your right armpit and concentrate on staying connected. You need a bigger body turn and a shorter arm swing.
In regards to striking it all over the face, I found that when you've got bunch of swing thoughts, strike becomes secondary and almost subconscious. Seems obvious but you have to remind yourself to focus on middling the face too and that should solve the wild dispersion.
Do you like my grip? Do these pants make my butt look to big? Dude, relax.
Have you ever tried to take a late peek toward the target? You look like there’s a bit of vapor lock before takeaway when the ball is there. It might help to “remember” your target before you swing… because when the ball becomes your target (instead of the target) your body won’t want to open. Hope all is well,
Alan
I’ve been working on something similar. I typically swing out to the right but recently started trying to swing more left to get my path zeroed out. The only way I could do it is weakening my grip. Left thumb more on top. Usually if I try that weaker grip every shot goes way right….because my stupid path is 9 in to out. I have found that I can now swing as hard as I can by feeling like I’m swinging well left but only if I weaken my grip. A weaker grip really allows you go really hard let. I was having low spin issues swinging out to the right as well. 1100 spin was typical. Now swinging more left and a weaker grip got my spin around 1800-2200
Controlling path and face is how you hit any shot…
What happened to swinging with the left arm across the chest? Is that old school?
i would love to know what Milo thinks of the flying right elbow aka freddy couples…and others
You’re so mechanical!
So it seems like Milo likes people to hit a fade I’ve tried my butt off in trying to hit a draw basically so it will go farther average ss100 will a fade be fine and not lose distance
This is why watching these you tube videos will Fuck up your ability to learn . He’s clastic example of just so much info your stuck in neutral
Your half practice swing says it all! Don’t move your hands out of plane behind you when you start your downswing! Why doesn’t Milo see that? You had a few good swings and a good ball flight when you kept your hands on the same plane back and down at the top of your swing. That should be the #1 fix before you focus on anything else?
With the abundance of exceptionally skilled instructors you have encountered, it is perplexing that you have yet to master the art of hitting or swinging the sweet spot. However, allow me to propose an alternative perspective. Perhaps this is not a solution tailored specifically for you, but rather a remarkable opportunity for you to showcase and promote the teaching techniques of your preferred instructors only. Here in Whittier
Really like you have documented on video what causes the hook. To me it's a surge half way down vs being smooth like the one effortless swing. The more effort and surge, the bigger hook.
The title says Tour Draw while the video is Milo trying to get you to hit a power fade. 🤔
