With Blackburn Rovers looking down and out after being relegated to League One in 2017, manager Tony Mowbray plotted an instant return to the Championship by bringing one of the best players in League One to the club.
A proven marksman at that level, Bradley Dack was signed from Gillingham for £750,000 in June 2017, as Rovers sought to make their way out of the Division at the first attempt.
Dack proved to be well worth his transfer fee as his 18 goals in the 2017/18 season fired Rovers to an instant promotion. Dack formed a formidable partnership with Danny Graham, and the pair’s goals, as well as those of Charlie Mulgrew, proved pivotal in Rovers’ promotion success.
The Dack and Graham partnership would also prove handy at Championship level as the pair combined well to help consolidate Rovers in the Championship from 2018 onwards.
Dack made a blistering start to his Rovers career, scoring 36 goals in two seasons and had caught the attention of Premier League clubs. A move to the Premier League looked to be a real possibility, until a serious knee injury against Wigan in 2019 left Dack facing a year out on the sidelines. Unfortunately, he was to suffer the same serious knee injury again 15 months later meaning more time out of action.
Dack bravely fought back from those injuries to score 7 goals in all competitions in the 2022/23 season, which was to be his last season in a Rovers shirt.
A fan’s favourite, Bradley Dack will especially be remembered for the role he played in Rovers’ promotion season.
Making 173 appearances and scoring 57 goals. Dack will go down as one of very few positives in an otherwise bleak period under the current ownership.
Here are all 57 of Dack’s goals for Blackburn Rovers for everybody to enjoy.
