Thanks Matt, I'll certainly give it a try. Not so sure of this technique from a pot bunker or a steep face? From that bunker and lie I'd be playing a chip shot taking the ball first. If it was compacted, then definitely a chip shot.

The first option, ie ball in centre, are you literally hitting at the ball coach? Or are you still aiming slightly behind ball?

I like that it’s similar to the chipping technique. I actually have less of a problem with more sand…but I have had a lie in a bunker where I tried to do a shot like this and when I hit the “sand” the bounce literally skidded the club’s blade edge right into the back of the ball. You can imagine what happened after that. LOL. Thanks for this Coach! Loving it…

Thanks a lot for this tip, it's great, Coach! I agree that this sounds similar to chipping as it is not about steepening up any angles, but it is the opposite: shallowing. By the way I found this to be working for me 2 months ago and it is really effortless and stressless

Similat to chip as you say. Where should I be looking for initial impact using this technique?
I tried this over the weekend with great success. It was surprisingly easy! Now have to figure how long a backswing to use for a given distance.

This is great stuff – just getting the ball out of any type of sand is massively valuable – and the fact you don't need any speed gives you way more control. Brilliant.
Have lost all confidence lately in bunkers from previously been pretty good. Tried this and was sooooo good. Thanks now I have a stock shot to work from and hopefully the scores will come back down.
