  6. PUSH Shot- Rule is that if the tip is still touching the cue ball when it hits object ball its a foul, like double hitting a golf ball sort of thing. NOW. it also ALLOWS you to play the thinnest or very thin cut AND you will touch object and cue ball at same time BUT the rule allows that as its impossible to play the shot without the push shot part so they allow you to play the very thin cut and REF CANT call foul. IF you try to take a thicker cut to pocket the ball, then the part of the rule about THINNEST, or whatever wording its been updated to, you have purposely not done and i have called foul for that. Its not open to interpretation except for the "thin" is bit subjective but basically if you take a very thin contact, almost no power will be given to the object ball , so if you see it fly 10 ft to the pocket, then obviously it was hit thick and foul. NOW if they can do this and NOT have the tip touching the cue ball when it hits the object ball, would require a super human hit and retraction of tip in the ms's of time as cue ball hits the object ball. So if theres a bit of distance , say a inch between balls, it would still require the tip to retract super quick so its not touching cue ball when cue ball strikes object ball. Ref will would have to watch this very closely and make decision. Basically tip must not be touching CB when it hits OB EXCEPT when balls so close no option but to take thinnest angle so when tip fouls , its cant be called a foul or player would not be able to play a shot in this situation.

Also – the best ever was Ronnie v Peter Ebden. Ebden taking half a millennia on each shot.
