With Everton having been docked ten points for breaching Premier League financial rules, Gary and Alan are joined by journalist Nick Harris of Sporting Intelligence to discuss the reasoning behind the dramatic decision.
Also discussed are the implications for Manchester City, currently facing 115 charges for alleged breaches of the League’s financial rules. Charges Manchester City deny.

City when ?
Man city should lose 1150 points they might end up playing accrington Stanley in the next derby match
Man city should be relegated to the lowest division
No mate, it won't open up 115 can of worms, because most of the charges against City are repeated nine times.
This guy is really representing Manchester City, he legit could be sued for a couple of the statements be makes here.
So the premier league make the charge? Don’t the big 6 run the league? Does that mean nothing will happen to them as they’ve got too much power? So City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal may well get away with anything. (Though City and Chelsea would be the most likely to be in breach from what we know)
Why can’t they pick off Man City or Chelsea’s charges one by one too; not to try and convict them of every thing one go? 12:05
So the moral of footballs legal system is, if ya guna break the rules, break lots of em & itl take longer to prove, & youl probably get away with some of them….brilliant!!
Isn't this wrong the football fans get the worst of it.
City has bought off all the best legal teams in the UK. They will never be affected as they will find every legal way to delay and find ways to deter and wiggle out of penalties.
Man city and Chelsea hv immunity.
Good Video👍
can someone pls ask Nick to move up his laptop, mobile? so see cant see into his brain 🤣👍
The fact that City is not cooperating with the investigation says a lot. They are just trying to force PL to waste resources and quit.
9pts for going into administration. 10 points for £19.5m over. Comparatively it’s harsh. Yes Everton broke the rules. No one at club has denied that. 6/7 pts should’ve been more fitting the crime.Everton are being used as a warning. City and Chelsea will get away with a slap on the wrist
FFP is to stop the bigger clubs from having a massive spending advantage really
It’s a bit like on the pitch. Players who break the rules are aghast when brought to book. This behaviour seems to have been institutionalised at managerial level.
I don't think the premier league gets it… it turns out if you breach 115 rules you can break records, win multiple prems in a row, win the treble, maybe even win the treble again, before the premier league do anything about it. For the fans of man city and the club itself, they don't care what happens now, they can't wipe the memories from the fans and the club. The premier league should have docked points ages ago for man city, there's no need for them to act on all charges at once, all that does is benefit man city even further. The premier league has fundamentally failed to keep the competition fair.
All this "legal delay" is complete rubbish, the premier league can dock points at any time, they're choosing not to because they might get sued, but if they have a strong case they will win either way. It's weakness from the leadership at the premier league that is allowing man city to act without repercussions.
The premier league needs to act first and answer questions later, when you're allowing the team you've launched 115 charges against win a treble, to actively play and further manipulate the table each week. It's an absolute joke.
Didn’t know the were found guilty !!!
Oh Mr Man City what is this brief case full of money you have slid across my desk for? 🤔
Technical details are worthless. The simple truth is, Man City has crazy deep pockets and can buy pardons for anything they did or are doing. Everton is headed for relegation and will be thrown down the toilet.
Interesting that the Italian league relegated their top club (Juventus) for the same reason and the Spanish La Liga gutted Barcelona. But of course, it's always foreigners who are corrupt.
The FFP system is flawed because docking points as a punishment for a club which is posting negative profits for 3 years will only pressurise the ability of the club to improve its profit position. The second reason docking points is a flawed punishment is that it does not penalise the executives who made the decisions which led to the profit position – it penalises everyone involved at the club EXCEPT those responsible. This allows the bad actors in those executive positions to leave their positions to get a similar position at another club and ruin that one too! Legislation already exists which holds Board Directors of all corporations personally responsible for financial gross negligence. Why dock points when much more effective options already exist? The whole thing stinks of corruption
