  1. Literally didn’t want to win that Heisman Trophy but still did, every season he played in the NFL he was selected All Pro.

  2. Without a doubt the greatest running back of alltime. To do what he did with that terrible o-line year after year was unreal. Watched his entire career and even though I was a Redskins fan he was my favorite running back in that era.

  3. How friggin cool would it be to see Barry come out of the tunnel dressed for the Thanksgiving day game? Obviously he can’t. And wouldn’t play, but could you imagine him coming out of the tunnel dressed, running to the 50? Tinted visor, stop at the 50, pull the helmet off and just stand there. Just one last time…. 😢

  4. If there is ever any player in this day and age that could even have 1 game like Barry always seemed to have,he would be the best player in the entire league by far. He was the last "Explosive" running back the league has had. A few players have had games here and there, but Sanders had seasons of that.

  5. He was a freak of nature. Gayle Sayers with better juke moves.

The reason why Sanders retired was because I don't think he really cared for football and all the drama around it…College Football was fun and super easy for him, and he loved the culture in Oklahoma.. It came ridiculously easy even in the NFL for Barry but it wasn't fun for him, and I don't think he liked the front office of the Lions.

I'm from Detroit, the Lions were only interested in selling tickets, Superbowls are expensive, but if you can have 1 player that can sell out arenas that was the business motto for dumpster fire organizations like the Lions back then, he realized that around his 8th season I believe… Also, I don't think he cared for NFL "business" football as much as in college or as his dad did, he believed he didn't deserve all the trophies, rushing titles because he was achieving these things while losing whereas Thurman Thomas, Emmit Smith, Marshall Faulk, Jerome Bettis, his peers, these guys were winning.

When Walter Payton passed away, I think Barry didn't want to break his record, because I think he felt playing on so many bad teams a record like that didn't really mean anything. And he was that guy who did not care about records, but he understood for some people they meant something. I think he felt that he would tarnish a legacy by breaking it even.

  6. I wish this man could’ve played for a contender could you imagine if they had other weapons and an O line like the Cowboys had it’s just mind blowing what could’ve happened what should’ve happened for this great talent great man

  7. Barrys highlight will always be amazing. It’s nice that Amazon paid him to travel and retell the parts his story he wanted to repeat. How about an apology? He left the day before camp (while he was the center piece of the entire team). His half ass (if there are hard feelings) is a joke. How about showing some character and say it was wrong. Very hard not to see it as vindictive. In the end he was a great player that the team did everything they could for. He was paid top $ and had very expensive o lines. He was part of the losing too – even though he was a great rb he still owns part of the results. Like every other player on the team.

  8. Barry Sanders you're not the Greatest All Around Football player (that belongs to Walter Payton) but you ARE THE GREATEST RB EVER!!!!!! And it's not even close i Still to this very Day watch Your Highlights. You're the Prime Definition of what Greatness is Massive Massive Massive Respect for you.

  9. Best running back lions pick up the lions fail as organization to build a team around himfor his entire career, barry was complete loyal , team oriented, work ethic like no other and was let down horribly. I can completely understand how he felt and why he just retired, barry did his part and lions were not even meeting half way to build that team like all greats do. It ashame !!!!

  10. Pat is by far the coolest, Brady interviewer and Barry is still one cool cat. Great memories of the goat RB

  11. I truly believe that Barry Sanders retired because Walter Patton was dying and you have to remember that being a black American in the US being a super star was getting better but Walter was one paving the way for black Americans and was an idol to Barry. I find that to be the highest level of respect because Barry Sanders was going to absolutely destroy Walter's records, so mad respect Barry 🙏 💯 👏 seriously what a fuckin legend 👏 🙌

  12. He had a ton of highlight reels vs Tampa when they were in the central with us. I can only imagine he loved playing in TB

  13. I actually made it onto the "Bye Bye Barry" on Prime as a young kid getting Barry's autograph… Everytime he saw me ask for autograph he gave me one. My favorite football player of all time and an absolute NFL legend until the end of time. We all know the truth. Barry is and has always been the GOAT!
