Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!

I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. Great video coach. Would love to see a fitting at American Golf just to see the comparison 😂. I know it's probably not possible though 👍

  2. You can’t remember the last time you had a J Arthur 😂😂😂😂. Taking golf YouTube in a whole new direction

  3. nice. i liked the way he guided you through the process – a good fitter.

  4. G’Day Coach, are you sitting down ? PING ISI irons Blue dot with cushion inserts stiff flex, 5i to SW , LW 61 deg & PING 3 – 4 Crossovers.

  5. I've used 50, 54 for a good few years and swapped out my old 60 for a 58 about 2 years ago. I'm a bit similar in that I'm steep and getting height out of my shots has never been an issue. Keeping it low however, is a different story!

  6. Question, so the difference you felt with the shaft was primarily due to its reduced weight, which changed the swing weight of the club? Would you consider graphite shafts then?

  7. I recently went back to my Ben Hogan Apex Pro irons. Unbelievable forged iron feel. I gave the set to my dad for his 60th birthday 22 years ago and he gave them back to me on my 50th birthday 3 years ago. So Coach I’m playing Apex irons too.

  8. An old set of mizuno jpx forged 4 to PW 😊 in regular shafts (105) but now being 65 (old boy) should I be using a lighter shaft 🤷‍♂️.

  9. Funny that, just got fitted for new irons and dropped down shaft weight to 105grm. Added 10yrds 😂

  10. I play the 2023 Titleist T200s with Project X 6.0 shafts. I purchased the Callaway Apex Pro 7 iron in Project X 6.0 to test for a second set to keep at the holiday residence. It's going to be hard to beat the T200s, but I do love everything about the Apex Pro24.

  11. Biggest improvement in my game was changing shaft to lighter far more control miss is really only left now rather than both directions.

  12. Remember when Mark and Dan made a whole video about my shaft comments? Lockey Voice How Embarrassing!!!

  13. Currently gaming the Callaway 2018 Rogue Pro irons. Love the flight looong and high , obviously a bit stronger in loft than “standard “ but still good stopping on the greens. 👌

  14. Ping i525 up till 6 iron (alta cb slate), Callaway Mavrik 5 and 3 hybrids, Mizuno S23 gap wedge plus a special appearance for the famous Crossy wedge during the mud season

  15. If they "tweak" an iron/wedge loft, do they change the bounce and grind accordingly? If not, then why not? As it seems strange to quote turf interaction etc. and then mess up all that "research". (The question is generally across manufacturers, not just aimed at Callaway)

  16. There better be a scene from the bath in this video, or it's not a real what's in the bag to me 🙂

  17. @coachlockey interesting that the shaft weight change was so impactful, ask him if that change in the MOI total of the club might be the reason for your feel change. I had a clubfitter help me dial in this part of my bag, and the differences were very similar to what you experienced!

  18. I miss the ultra clean look of the Apex Pro 21's. Now they've got that ugly black trapezoid to ruin it, If they made that trapezoid with the same satin finish it would be fire.

  19. The wedge fitting was great !! Ive never done a wedge fitting. Always just used the s grind.

  20. What do ya know about the paradym triple diamond s model. Found a few to buy dont cant find exact specs

  21. This is such an interesting discussion. Perhaps it’s kind of a palette cleanser to go lighter? I’m curious to know if they have the grips at different thicknesses for the shafts considering how just something so little can transform how you feel about it…. Great stuff Coach! Thanks for letting us into this session. Really enjoyed it!

  22. Wedges look great, just wish they didn’t have those holes at the back – they fill with mud so badly & a pain to clean🙈

  23. I would have liked you to test even lighter shafts and perhaps some of the new graphite options to with you instantly liking the lighter one.

  24. It would be really interesting to see a high handicap golfer going through this process. With a more inconsistent swing, it would be interesting to see if the technician could produce a set to take into account the different swings and build in a closer consistency.

  25. Just got my new irons. I got a 4H and 5i-AW. Plan to get new wedges in April my AW is a 49 degree so looking at 54 and 58 degree wedge

  26. gaming 9 club bag of rouge with 2018 apexMB callaways this yr , i still fall back to full bag mizuno MP69’s
