The World Cup is over, the trophy tour is rolling through the country and the entire Mzanzi is united in celebration.
But across the world the sour grapes continue, as pundits question the style, authenticity and every little detail of a magnificent Springbok victory. Why won’t they give the Boks their due, and in reality, do we really care?
Brenden Nel and Liam del Carme unpack eight weeks of rugby, address the sour grapes abroad, and dissect France 2023 as a tournament.
They also pick their leading players and moments from a tournament that had us all on the edge of our seat, and gave the Boks back-to-back World Cups.

  1. All they need to do is replace the carded player immediately. Then they can levy the appropriate punishment without impacting the match.

  2. Lots of negative comments by the NH media of the boks doing nothing to grow the game, then I turn on the TV and see the team on the bus parade through the streets of CT and you see potential growth of the game in front of your eyes .👌👌 so proud of this Bok team.

  3. what if accidental head contact is just a penalty and deliberate is red then to prevent teams from playing the system, the powers that be must track and review all head contacts . But it must be transparent for the public to see… this prevents dodgy shit

  4. One of the divides I really am in awe of that the Springboks have bridged is the socioeconomic divide. I believe rugby started off in private schools only, whereas in SA, we have opened it much more. I think Australia still suffers from that systemic issue.

  5. The comments from people complaining about the Boks and what they are doing to rugby do not understand diversity and inclusion.

  6. It was definitely the leniency from Super Rugby and they knew exactly how the tournament would be refereed but didn't care enough to understand the ramifications.
