  1. nice review! my question would be: for that speciality 4i build you showed, how do other (cheaper) graphite options compare? given the huge upcharge for those shafts, i would wanna see a LOT of data to show that it indeed is the best graphite shaft for what I would want to accomplish, otherwise i wouldnt get over the suspicion that my fitter is trying to get an extra bit of commission at my expense…

  2. Thanks for that review, Matt, really good! I'd be very interested to have you review (and maybe compare) the UST Mamiya Dart V as well.

  3. Great video. Really good info on a product that many of us are very intrigued to try. I also love your thought process on how to put components together to open different possibilities and not just think about everything as an A vs B comparison.

  4. Great content Matt!
I have wrist issues, so graphite will be required from here on out.

  5. Don't see many review the UST DART V iron shaft, which in the 120 x-flex should be a competitior to the axiom, actually fitting better into your development towards lighter iron shafts. The axiom is actually 130g uncut, the DART V progresses from just under 120 in the longest irons to just over 120 in the short irons. Does UST have less connections with fitters like you than fujikura maybe?

  6. Matt i am wanting graphite but dont have availability locally. I have 87 mph ss on 7 iron. I play kbs ctaper light stiff now and typically have 120 mph ball speed and 170 carry. Any suggestions on a graphite product to buy and install in a head to try ? Accra , axiom, aerotech ?

  7. another excellent video, thanks for reviewing the axioms matt, super impressed with the 105s in the long irons

  8. Wonderful video, wonderful nuggets about what your thoughts are on building sets. Each video gets better and better, love the content keep rockin.

  9. The dispersion and standard deviations appeared to be better with the Axiom which I don't think I was expecting with someone who has an already good swing.

  10. I’m very intrigued about playing lighter shafts in longer irons to promote additional speed. The Axioms 105 could be a long iron specialty game changer.

  11. Great review. Have you ever noticed graphite shafts break down after a certain amount of use? I wonder if you played a season and retested them if they would perform and feels the same?

  12. Matt, I always love your well thought out analysis. Every product has pros and cons and is not appropriate for everyone. You do a great job of separating those differences. Nice job.

  13. was the puring technology done with your clubs.? i was fit and purchased p790 with 105x axiom shafts. i feel a negative difference on 3/4 shots and when playing outside in cooler temperatures i believe these shafts play stiffer. only other negative was the “puring” technology affected installation where all the labels face a different direction on every club. club champion

  14. Would love to see you try the LA Golf L-Series next! Those are $115/shaft and you may have been there when Drew Cooper was hitting them. Somehow he gets even less dynamic loft out of them than the Project X LS 7.0

  15. Wait, when you say expensive, I thought it was like graphite shaft expensive, turns out more like twice the price of a steel shaft.

Now it would be interesting to compare this on a long/utility iron to a graphite UT/HB shaft such as Ventus HB, Tour AD 95 etc. Because compared to them this looks like a bargain.

  16. Matt killer vlog you did here. I was really eyeing those iron shafts and they are on top of my list for graphite golf shafts to try unless the fitter tells that I hit the ball better with steel shafts. But I would really like to have a golf set with graphite shafts because I really think that there is a lot of technology in them in general and that it could really benefit even the better golfers out there. Keep up the great work buddy 👍

  17. If I could afford to buy $720 worth of shafts and then pay to have them put in and new grips, I would. But I can’t so I’m stuck lol

  18. Great vid and analysis Matt. Loved the essentially, second half of the vid where you started playing with the 105. Production is and videography looks slick as well.

  19. For the record. I'm a Fuji Ventus fanboy and play them in all of my woods. I hit them against my Aerotech steel fibers…I really didn't care for them that much, and did notice much dispersion difference. It's just not worth the $200 upgrade (at Club Champion, etc).

  20. Great video. Well thought thru. I have some unrelenting tennis elbow issues so earlier this year switched from project x 6.0 to KBS TGI 100 graphite shafts, which are good but feel a little "loose" (I'm steep so notice more than most probably) and don't give great feedback. I play Ventus Black 6X in my driver and am just switching over to Axiom 105x in my Srixon combo heads. Very curious to see how they perform!

  21. Matt, you’re becoming a top tier club fitter. You are much more than that imo, but that creative though at the end of the session and where it lead in terms of results proves to me that you have indeed ARRiVED.
    Very well done.

  22. How much would slower swingers benefit more from Axiom (I think they have lighter shafts than the ones you were trying) than a faster swinger like you? Given the price– not sure it's worth the cash expense for you. (Currently playing Elevate 95)

  23. Please test the Graphite Design Tour AD iron shafts. Roughly same cost as the Axiom. To me, the Graphite Design are the best graphite iron shafts on the market. Great video. Wishing you continued success.

  24. Very solid performing shaft.
The Axiom was 29% tighter in the clubhead dispersion metric with the difference compared to the PX LS you had. That is impressive even in a mix of a few millimeters.
Definitely a good but pricey option. For you, it may be worth considering given the number of balls you must be hitting from an injury prevention stand point. Sometimes maintaining health is avoiding the avoidable injuries. But that is said from someone with nerve damage in my wrist and having to think about longevity.
    Cheers.

  25. New videos are great Matt, love the style and way you’re presenting! I had the same thought of going down a weight in the long irons. What would you say on going from T150s in to a T200 for the long irons? I’ve been contemplating 4-5 T200 then 6-PW in a T150

  26. Matt, would love to see how these axiom shafts compare to the ventus HB black hybrid shafts in the long irons!
