Looking for some fast high school sprints to watch? Here are four races from the evening feature 100 Meters at the 2023 Arcadia Invitational a couple of weeks ago. Plenty of PRs among the nation’s fastest.

The best is the second race – the girls’ Invite 100. Oregon’s 6A Champ visits California and sets a new meet record, a wind-legal PR and her time here remains the fastest wind-legal time in the country as of April 22. She used every wisp of that 2 m/s push to get over the previous leading mark of 11.18. Just a junior.

In the first race, Braelyn Baker wins from the 8th lane and makes PR at the time. A week later, she lowers that PR to 11.65 at Mt. SAC and is now (as of April 22) ranked 34th in the nation.

The third race was the men’s Seeded and it was a tight battle between two California guys. Among wind-legal times in the country this year, Coleman’s 10.36 puts him at 6th, followed by Remlinger in 7th with his 10.38. They were happy.

The last race had three no-shows. Troy Lane didn’t care. His 10.28 is good for 3rd among the wind-legals in the country as of April 22.

  1. Wow. When I saw Mia Brahe-Pederson do those high-knee jumps & rapid pumping high-knees on the start line, I went, "Wow, that's super fast." Yep…super fast.
