If you struggle with chip shots and pitch shots around the green it’s because you have a chipping and pitching technique that is either too complicated or your trying to use the same technique for all your short game shots.

In this golf video Danny Maude explains the difference between chipping and pitching and shows you exactly what short game technique to use and when to use it.

Here’s what you are going to learn

1. How you set-up to chipping and pitching is crucial for consistent strikes.
2. Learn how to have a tension free golf swing
3. Use a chipping technique for chipping but a pitching technique for pitching

So if you are looking at improving your confidence with chip shots around the green watch the latest video from Danny Maude right here 👇https://youtu.be/ox9IZa9Ardk

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If it’s a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. Danny, love your videos. Would love to see a course vlog talking about course management, and to see all of your tips and teaching come together in a longer-form video. At least 9 holes, 18 would be even better! Keep up the great work!

  2. Thanks Danny just tried your tips in my garden worked a treat can't wait to get on the course Monday.

  3. Just curious how tall are you? To get that close to the ball I would have to choke up on the club – looks like you aren’t. So would you recommend people choke up?

  4. What about short chips, where you need to hit it 2 feet out of the rough and you only have 2 feet of roll on the green to the hole. I tend to hit too far.

  5. Had a first lesson this week with a Pro…and he pointed out that I lean back at strike and hitting behind the ball. By the end of the hour I was more hitting after. So this is a very apt vlog.

  6. I notice that you have been getting away from a notion that you've discussed in the past and which Pete Cowen emphasized – pressuring the ball as you've said, and Cowen explained with his elbow spinning motion. Additionally, I saw a video by someone else (heaven forfend that anyone should watch someone other than the GREAT DANNY from Kent!! LOL) and he suggested maintaining the radius of the chipping swing with the lead arm and tucking the trail elbow into the trail side at near waist level (wherever it settles naturally, I guess) so that the right arm doesn't take over and force a change in the radius of swing arc so that the bottoming becomes erratic. Anyhow, a couple of points for you to consider and perhaps elaborate on in future segments. Thanks. Cheerz…

  7. I try and practice these techniques and most of the time I'm successful. The odd time I'll shank the ball. Do you know what causes this and how to stop it. It ruins a round for me. Thanks for the video.

  8. The idea of putting my eyes somewhere between the flag side of the ball and even 2" forward with iorns has completely changed my game. The loft easily doubled and the distance improved 50% day one. Keep in mind, it was my 10th round ever played!

  9. The lean in the backswing you advocated correctly may be achieved by nose behind the ball at address then in front of ball in backswing.

  10. Danny, thank you and a question..uphill chip shots, I get confused aligning shoulders with the slope vs. leveling them as you describe. Any suggestions please?

  11. nice video, what I like to see and understand when unfortunately happening and you make a shank.
    Please help…😅

  12. Thanks so much Danny, great video. I have a really basic question though. If the lead shoulder stays where it is, then are you saying that there is no shoulder turn in chipping? Many thanks from a high handicapper!

  13. Danny, this is SO topical at the moment. With wet ground conditions it's too easy to fat it. I like to set a slight angle on the trail wrist, like a small forward press and then maintain that angle and let rotation be the power source. Having a consistent routine is key. I probably need to concentrate on the shoulders being more level. The slight forward movement I started doing a few weeks ago and helps find the centre of the face more easily. (I suppose a bit similar to the change made by Viktor Hovland a few months ago)
    Excellent vid as usual !
