I think the T24's will feel great, however, I do agree that going with the raw or denim copper finish will likely look better long term. Wished there was more conversation & explanation on the wedge grinds, including which golfer or golf swing the grinds would be best for.
Finally time to replace my wedges… These are on the shortlist. Along with the MG4's and SM9's. Tough choices.
Bag full of T22’s now. Can’t imagine them getting much better.
I currently game the T22 wedges in 54 and 60 in the blue. I had been playing Ben Hogan Equalizer II wedges which I still play on tight courses. The best wedges I've ever had but unfortunately they are no longer. I think it was the topline look and minimalistic look. I heard the T24's have a thinned out top line relative to the T22's. I have played various SM's and I just can't get past the clunky look.
i’m excited about these wedges. Wish you had reviewed the 58.10V model.
Would love for Vosh to come on and do a deep dive on grinds. Mizzy's forged wedge line is now more versatile than several other "top" brands!
Always been a subscriber / fan of Ian and his reviews. Today's Mizuno T-24 review seemed "lazy"….nothing mentioned about the new V grind or even telling us which grind he was using for each wedge.
I saw him pointing at you too, Ian. I think you need to take him into the back and give him a good “talking to”…hahaha
I saw a video yesterday of the T24 vs. Taylormade MG4 wedges. The testing was dry and wet conditions and the T24 wedges beat the MG4 in wet conditions, in fact, they were in Ping territory with some increases in spin when wet were seen. In dry conditions, the spins of the T24 were higher than the MG4, possibly due to fresher grooves. I can’t help thinking that the MG4 face might be more susceptible to wear in the bunkers.
Good test, just needed the water test for us in the UK.
I'm finding the same. My T22 spin like crazy and I have to really give it the beans to go back to what my sm8 distances were. Feel is 🔥🔥 though
Mikey has so much charisma (sarcasm)
I’m pretty sure wedges do not get spinner as one uses them.
Picky, picky, picky….
Wow, your son Mike must take after his mother. You are both built so different!
I play an MP T-10 at 55°. I feel like I’ve lost more than 10 yards since I’ve changed from my Cleveland Tom Austin
I like everything about these wedges, except the shape. Never liked the shape of a single Mizuno wedge.
Great video. When should we expect new vokey’s?
I am not sure what it is, but I have never liked the look of a 54* wedge in any brand. It is always just "off" when compared to a 52* or 56*….it's weird.
Love my T22 copper wedges and can't imagine anything better, but these do look super clean.
Ohh the new mizuno vokeys 😂
I get no where near that amount of spin. Mine usually hover around 2-3k in my 60-52deg wedges.
Great content as always. Thanks fellas!
I don’t quite understand the grind descriptions and their retrospective bounces, would love more detail on that
Been playing the T22 48 as my PW for 2 seasons and 58* in copper. Love the 48, very easy to control flight & spin. The 58 we had to grind the sole a bit in heel to add some versatility. After 3 attempts and adding some lead tape, it’s a crazy good wedge, especially out of tight lies and true hard pan. Great feel. I thought nothing could match my Bettinardi 58 for feel and crazy spin, the T22 was a match👍.
I still love my Miura 54* sand wedge but if I needed a replacement, I’d definitely look at T24. I would add I love having different finishes on each of my 3 wedges, just makes it so easy to identify the club. My 48 is chrome, the Miura SW chrome and T22 58 is copper. If I replaced the Miura I’d look for black or raw finish.
I play the JPX800 Pro Mizuno irons. Looking to change out to either the s23 or t24 or combo the wedges 46PW to 58 degree. Any suggestions? How to pick the best grinds for each? Thanks
I don’t get why these aren’t getting more noise. You get a TI S400 and MMC, standard. That combo puts a vokey in the $50 up charge range. I think y’all said more grooves in the higher lofts and fewer in lower but that’s backwards. 5 different grinds is more than Cleveland, TM and callaway. What am I missing? It seems outstanding and looks like a comet so I don’t understand why all the reviews I see on it are “meh”?
Gspro supports 5 digits. Just saying..
Feels weird seeing Ian in a Nike shirt
Are the Mizuno wedge heads lighter than the Vokeys? I had the T20's and when I went for a fitting with Titleist we weighed both and there was a significant difference. Sorry I cannot remember exactly how many grams the difference was.
Just got fit into these last week and played a couple rounds with them over weekend. Great feel and despite the wet conditions they retained a ton of spin – much more than I saw with my Glide 3.0’s – ended up short of pin on most shots as ball was slamming on brakes once it hit the green. Excited to play more with them and dial everything in.
Will there be a wet test against the ping glide 4.0? And others?
This is probably the worst video you’ve made lately. Zero discussion of grinds, zero discussion of how it compares to the T22 or S23. If you took away the titling no one would know what wedges you are talking about.
I haven't seen all the comments, but it's amazing how all the better players are not looking for all the spin except with the lob wedge or a firm course. We just love ripping one back.
Please tell me furry creek is coming, you boys come out this way you’ve gotta do Happy Gilmore’s course
The T24’s have a bigger grooved part of the face like my T22’s do?
I use to be a Vokey only wedge player but have T22’s simply because I have the blue ones which are beautiful looking.
To me, my T22’s aren’t as soft feeling as a Vokey, but I have noticed they still spin just as much as when they were new. Does that make sense, that the harder feel, is possibly why they stil spin just as much?…like did they harden it up a bit to retain spin for a longer period of time?
Over the years…I’ve learned to use 2” heat shrink tubing to limit marring on iron hosels. Cut a 2” piece off then cut one edge so it folds in half. Wrap around hosel and it will eliminate hosel marks. Love your channel!
Did y’all misspeak at the beginning, about a wet-condition coating? I don’t see any info on Mizunos site about that at all.
Do you plan on trying the newer Rtx line
