Today we have a special video, Ian and Mike test the Attomax golf ball, whose slogan is “Pay for gain”. Coming in at $250 USD a dozen, we see if the quality really is 4x that of a Pro V1X. The results may shock you!

  1. Well, there's no way that I would pay anywhere near that price for a dozen golf balls. Price notwithstanding, I couldn't use that ball on anything less than a full (and pretty darned hard) swing, which means nothing inside of 85-90 yards, which is a full 54* sand wedge for me. That ball would just not work at all for me from around the greens, and I would hate to see what kind of results you, me, or anyone else would get from out of bunkers and for short pitch shots out of the rough when the primary need is for the ball to hit and stop quickly!

It would be interesting to see what kind of results you'd get with the medium version of this ball, which is meant for more the average clubhead speed golfer.

  2. A good high-compression, inexpensive "tour quality" golf ball for comparison would be the Maxfli Tour X, which is virtually identical to the Pro V1x Left Dash in every meaningful aspect (compression, construction, spin, distance, flight, etc.). I'd love to see a comparison between this ball and the 2023 Maxfli Tour X CG ball — or even the OnCore Vero X2, although that Maxfli is a better ball and slightly higher in compression, if you believe all of the data from the latest MGS Ball Test.

  3. Driver swing speed was consistently higher when hitting Attomax, not sure if it accounts for all of the ball speed increase but the spin differential is wild!
Virtual golf is really popular in Korea, I’m thinking most people wouldn’t risk losing these puppies to the lake..

  4. So for 3 boxes, I could get an autoflex shaft and gain those miles per hour on my driver even when using ProVs. So the capital investment in a premium shaft has a better return on investment than expensive balls (which are consumables).

  5. To be fair you swung the driver 1-3 miles an hour faster with the attomax ball, so if you were swinging the prov1x the same it would have been much closer.

  6. please do the cheapest balls vs expensive balls comparison you could do a whole series comparing different options just on ball data. would be awesome

as someone who hasn't settled on a specific ball yet im always open to playing different ones to see what I like and I find this data and type of comparison video very interesting (even though I would never pay 250/dz haha

  7. A round of 18 holes w/ cart is $70. I lose 2 to 3 balls a round. I play $2 balls. (Cut blue, vice pro) so a round costs $79. With those balls a round would cost $ 136. 😢

Math is added with a rough sales tax.

  8. I play the CUT ball. $20.00 for 24 balls. I'm a 6 handicap whether I play an expensive ball or a cheap ball from Walmart.

  9. Ok now combine the ATTOMAX with the AutoFlex and the Ping g430LST!!! Lets Go!!!

  10. That price point is about the same as the aftermarket pricing for the Titleist Pro V1 left dot, during the pandemic and when they were so limited. Insane price point.

  11. Figures, another young guy with no Morals, Honor, Pride, etc. "If it's not a tournament then cheat", there's always a guy in the crowd that has received "Participation " trophies their whole life and have no ability to compete with others based on the parameters every1 else lives buy. This guy is the typical Foot Wedge guy or the guy that improves his lie when the others playing with him turn their back to him. If he actually played a legit round guaranty his handicap would be 10 to 12 strokes higher.

  12. Great last drive Mr Fraser👍👍
However, I am disappointed that you didn't do the "mic drop" and walk off the tee in glorious silence as you listened to the crowd roar

  13. Whether something is "worth" it is highly personal. What I'm seeing is not much difference, not enough to matter in terms of play.

  14. So, after testing, you basically have a $250.00 Nitro lol no thanks, ill stick with current gamers.

  15. Ian and Mikey, it would be a lot of fun for us viewers if you put up the head to head with Attomax, -Dash, CSX LS. one it when y'all do that. Even throw in a super spinny ball and el cheapo

  16. As long as you don't have to chip or putt it is a decent ball, unless you are not a millionaire. Could be a long drive comp specialist.

  17. You two need to take them on the course and see how you play. Would be very interested in the results.

  18. Great video as always! I would love to see a Pro V1x new vs lakeballs comparison, as you guys advocate using only new balls.

  19. I hate to think what a sleeve of these would cost at Pebble Beach. They used to sell fairly ugly, baby blue Pebble Beach golf hats for 70 bucks.
