    BJ hits the lob wedge 105 yards, but I only hit it 70. Should I use the lob still or go to my gap which is 100 yards full (really 3/4) swing?

    I'm a Dave Pelz guy. Love his books and his research for over 30 years of a lot of different tour pros back it up too. With that said, he advocates for the clock method. I can hit that 50 yard shot all day long and I'm trying to hole it not just get it close. 50 yards is a touch past 9 o'clock with my 60 or about 830 for 54* wedge. I also firmly believe that your impact position with a standard plain vanilla 10 yard chip is the same as a full swing shot. I'm working on getting ready for the Champions Tour in a few years. Come to central Pennsylvania and I'll give you a lesson. I appreciate the outside the box thinkers, but some of this is being overly complicated.

    Just hit lots .
    From 80 yrds in you shouldnt be thinking anything , its like a lag putt , you look at the target and its surroundings and just let your body do its thing .
    Thinking pocket to pocket or shoulder to shoulder or hands dead hands active , its killing your game .
    Do that in the garden or practice grounds .
    Do it every week , every weekend or every morning until your brain knows the variables without your input . Then do it some more for fun .
    Try shit out , its childs play …….

    Great tips. It's one of the hardest shots in golf. They say Tiger in 2001 never left himself 50 to 70 yards all season.
