►This drill is one of my favourites by Pete Cowen. I talk Kerrod Gray through this and how it can help players understand the correct positioning of the club

The content you will find on this YouTube channel will be informative golf tips that will help you improve not only your golf swing but your golf game in the sole purpose of lowering your scores and enjoying golf more & more.
Other content will include golf club reviews and golf accessories which can help you improve your understanding of what to buy as the market is constantly changing and being saturated by brands.
A lot of the content you will find on the channel is of Andy Carter being out on the golf course showcasing real-life scenarios and shot that all golfers will encounter on the course. If you can improve these areas of your game then for sure scores will lower.
Popular content throughout the years has been golf course vlogs, with Andy either playing against the golf course in his Carter vs Golf series, or playing against fellow PGA professionals, Tour professionals and even amateurs. 1. Excellent explanation and demonstration Andy and Kerrod on a Perfect Takeaway! I've found Peter Cowen's teaching to be "right on" when it comes to golf swing! I use the takeaway you are explaining which produces a glove label to the ground on the left hand and a palm to the ground with the right hand. Both produce a semi closed club face on the takeaway and downswing which in turn produces a very solid ball compression on the strike! Well Done Gents!

  2. Super good vid. The old adage "hold it like a baby bird" is so dumb. On the backswing, you're fighting the center of gravity of the club, which weighs a lot in motion, and inherently wants to fly behind you.

  3. I would LOVE a video about how to keep the trail hand from effecting the downswing/take away. I have a lot of trouble with it wanting to take over and the club face twists and it can be pully or shanky. I'd swing one handed if I could! It's turned me from a 10 HCP to a 19…it's only with irons.

  4. Are you doing lessons down at the Bristol or just filming? I’d like a lesson or 2 if you are around!! Course is looking great

  5. Excellent Video! Really clear simple way of understanding takeaway. Would the opposing force still apply when hitting driver and fairway woods?

  6. I noticed my grip was getting to strong…. This is a great easy help with that ! The simple tips are easiest to remember.

  7. Love these little drills and gets the mind understanding what the hands, shoulders and trunk does on take away. 👍🏼

  8. Great video, Andy! It's a great change of pace to see you in the coaching role with someone else modeling instead of doing it all yourself so you could really point out some key areas to pay attention to

  9. This is 1 of the best drills I've come across to this date. I use this before every shot and it always works

  10. This was me before a lesson a few months ago. Making the trail hand change described by Andy on the takeaway is the best thing I've done for my golf game in 30 years.

  11. Key issue for me this one. Can control at slow pace but not full pace so saving this one

  12. Something tells me the guy playing the Ricky Fowler blades probably doesn't need this drill. I on the other hand need it and love it.

  13. This is great stuff Andy. I've struggled with rolling the club inside due to an overactive lead hand. No teacher has suggested using the trail hand as an opposing force like this. This is brilliant. Thanks!

  14. Great drill I tend to grip too tight when I do it in my real swing, but doing a few practice takeaways and swings with this method ends up helping a heap, just like any exaggeration in the practice swing

  15. Can't thank you enough for this video. I have struggled with my takeaway for the best part of 2 years and nothing has worked until your explanation of the dominant hand <3

  16. I finally understand this feeling with the grip, for someone with the exact takeaway you described this is going to help a lot.
    Thanks guys, great video!

  17. Love Pete's stuff… but on a scale from 1 to 10 what would you say your opposition squeeze should be throughout the swing? Keep up the great work!
