Imagine if I told you that you could gain 20 accurate yards with a golf swing shorter than your current one…Well in this week’s golf lesson you are going to see how Danny Maude is adding 20, 30, 40 and sometimes 50 yards to golfers in a single session with a super short backswing.
At the start of the video he shows you the two key things you need to know to improve your contact whether that be with your iron swing or driver swing. As he says “there’s no point trying to gain distance if you haven’t first got a consistent strike”
Once you have the strike you will have already gained some yards but then it gets interesting. To get you to hit the ball longer Danny gets you to do it with NO Backswing. The results are crazy. Check it out here 👇

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it’s a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing

Great video! Thank you Danny
Super! Again!!
The short swing has been working for me for a long time. Control and accuracy. Still trying to get to a comfortable longer swing without loosing accuracy. Good lesson Danny.
Dynamite, I think I'm a finger flicker.😢 Must get to work. Thanks Danny.
❤️🏌️✌️
Danny – what app/device are you using to measure the distance?
Thank you. I’ll be trying this,
Great video and drill can’t wait to practice this but it’ll be awhile as I had a triple bypass and have to wait until healed to practice full swings so for now it’s chipping and putting
Hi Danny, should I try short back swings with long irons and driver? I struggle with consistent strike but not with my wedges and short irons
Found this to be true fooling around on the range in Hawaii a few years back. Seems counterintuitive but the proof is in the putting! Brilliant again Danny – you are single-handedly dissecting the meat from the myths once again!!
It’s a crazy coincidence that this vid came out when it did. The instructor I just started working with has me doing drills that strengthen the face, and it encourages the exact same feels through impact that you’re describing. Definite improvements in strike, dispersion, and distance after a short time of working on it.
I'm George😅
Same method that Bruce Lee used to generate incredible force with a 1 inch punch. Fascia is MUCH stronger than muscle. Loading torque into the club head via fascia and shaft will always produce astounding force
Great video Danny…thanks
Best of the best so far. Thanks a million.
It's all about the quality of the actual contact. Tips to "hit the ball farther" presuppose you're even making proper contact with the ball. Half my range time is spent hitting half or "3/4" swing punch 6 or 7 irons where i tell myself "I'm only trying to hit this 150 yards." It's amazing how often I look up and see I've it it 185.
Great stuff ,appears you have very strong grip, ?
Similar techniques when taking a very hard wrist shot when playing hockey. The loading on the palm of the trailing hand is key to power transfer. And also the bulk of your weight is on the lead foot.
Wish I had this yesterday morning, b4 my round …I was all out of “rhythm” (along with other issues ),couldn’t figure a correction that didn’t give me a mirror mistake of what I was trying to fix and had worst round of life ..
What device are you using to display club head speed and distance on you phone?
omg this is me thanks danny i will try tommorow and see if i can add some yards at the range
another great lesson, I seem to hit my 6,7,8 all the same distance, maybe this will fix some of that variance. Also, which iron did you use in this vid? Thanks again
I'm 80 years old and I've been trying to do what you show here for the past 60 years. But when I shorten my backswing I tend to grab the club with my right hand I chunk it.
Great lesson
Danny one thing I noticed with my swing is when it gets very long my timing is not there and I end up losing the ball to the right or over drawing it trying to catch up with my lower half a short backswing is what I always fall back on to get my timing back in sync
Ben Hogan said that when it came to applying power, he wished he had three right hands. Your content over the last few weeks, especially since the Pete Cowan episode, have shed some light on what he meant.
Here we go again, if I feel the sensation? Yes! Already looking forward to next golf season here in the cold north. Indoor training for a while. Thanks! 🙂
Great lesson as always. I have to work on contact and this drill and thought process will definitely help. Can’t wait to get to the range! Thanks Danny!!!
YEA have a good day.
Anothe great lesson Danny. Good to bump into you at Princes yesterday.
Damn! That’s fire!
Another brilliant video!!! This technique has revolutionized everything!!!!!! 😮
Great lesson on the fine points of a shorter backswing. I’m 78 and finally gave up on swinging like I used to; it just doesn’t work anymore and it hurts besides. I’m finding that I can make a shorter swing (lead arm parallel to the ground) and hit the ball just as far with a much better quality of strike. Good stuff Danny; well done. 👍
It’s like you can’t believe it as you are doing it! Shout out Peter Cowen! I want a lot more of you and that guy!
Great presentation, Danny!
7:52 this part has turned out to be the key for me. I’ve been messing with this trail hand feeling since Danny posted the Cowen video a couple months back and just couldn’t feel it until this part. Esp where you comment that you can do it with the lead shoulder as well, which is how I tend to swing. That made it click how to use the trail arm correctly. FINALLY.
Great explanation Danny! Im that one im sure that has the flick at the last moment. Im always wondering what im doing when im not getting the distance of certain clubs they should be going. I think you just turned the light bulb on for me of why lol
I played in some amateur tournaments in the late 80’s and early 90’s with a guy named Allen Doyle. Incredibly short backswing but he absolutely smashed it. His impact sound was strikingly different from other good players. His ability to compress the ball was amazing. He went on to have success as a professional player and won majors as a senior. Look up his swing on YouTube. I was never able to copy his action unfortunately. I think this video is probably as close as you can get it to making it work.
You mentioned dominance. Is that always your dominant hand or can it vary? How do you determine it?
Thank you Danny for this video it’s the exact part of my swing I’m working on 🙂
