  1. English media are weird for asking this. They think what Trent does every full back can do. As Cafu said only Trent plays like him

  2. I don't blame walker for struggling. Ten hag has started implementing a defensive striker in his lineup in weghorst. Pep uses full backs as midfielders. Football is becoming so complex now, it's basically irl chess with a ball.

  3. Stones is slow at elite level whilst Walker is one of the fastest players in the world. ask Mbappe, so Walker is very much needed at City and for England. If there's a fast winger Pep cant play Stones, City need Walker badly so do England. He is an elite player, Pep maybe due to his lack of command of the English dictum does not explain his self fully so people can then interpret it as they feel but my interpretation is that he is invaluable for club and country.

  4. If it was Klopp, he would have been so offended by the question. This is why Guardiola is a serial winner, and his teams always play consistently every season, while Klopp's Liverpool can't.

  5. It’s crazy how no one in the comment section is actually understanding it.

Pep is saying walker CAN do the inverted style just like zinchenko.
“4 in the back , and coming in the middle he has done really really well “

But the new 3-2-4-1 is different.
“3 in the back he cannot do”

There is already a double pivot and no fullbacks
he isn’t talking about having someone invert.
Akanji and ake don’t do that.

They cover a lot of space because Bernardo and grealish obviously don’t track back in that way so those outside center backs need to be so solid. Being center backs and fullbacks at the same time. Just like Gabriel arsenal

And the second cdm ( stones ) needs to be good enough to be a single pivot so Rodri can push up ( like his goal vs Bayern ) or drop to make that line of 4.
Walker is not defensive enough for the stones role or the akanji ake role he would do worse in the Dias role .

  6. We don't really need him, because if we have to handle fast and flashy wingers, that's where Aké and Akanji come in, so we don't have to worry about those things and also, Rúben feels more safe and comfortable witg these two surrounding him at the back, John is flexible and seems to be enjoying his new role. So there's no point in renewing Kyle's contract

  7. Yup i believe what he said, but Pep also know there is non from the team is better than Walker when he want a player with speed who play as Wing Back.

  8. Kyle walker was seriously injured before the real marid war until the wold cup. had to be hospitalized for nearly half of the season.

  9. Summon Erling Skywalker (That nord sith lord that scores hattricks while running with an axe in both hands).

  10. Guardiola is smart , he said that to see how walker would perform on the pitch after . And everything workout vini jr was no where to be found . Walker as crazy good in both legs

  11. He literally says at 0:36 that Walker CAN and has played as an inverted fullback before, what he says he can't do is essentially playing as a center back and move to the double pivot position next to Rodri in the offensive phase, which is normal because Kyle is neither a center back nor a midfielder. This is what happens when people think they understand a concept but actually don't.
