Abbey Holmes is currently trailblazing a path for women across the country with her role in media on the Channel 7 broadcast team. Her transition from Netball to a premiership AFLW experience to now media has been a remarkable journey.

In this podcast we go in depth into her journey and what it takes to make it in broadcasting sport across the nation. From the long nights of study to traveling across the country for games there is a lot more that comes with it than you realise.

Away from media she has a passion for travel and now business with her clothing brand Blindside. She is one of those people that seems to always have something on the go.

  1. Abbey is the best, I have a lot of respect for her. You never hear any particular team bias coming from her. Roving Brian, is a brilliant segment, but not a fan of his commentary, it often sounds like he has a bet riding on a game. lol. Daisy's knowledge of the game is outstanding, but it is not difficult to see which teams she likes and which teams she does not like. I agree with the first female coach of a men's AFL team comment.
I tell my international friends that visit Australia, the real Australia is thousands of kilometers Northwest of the Great Dividing Range. Those remote communities are just filled with wonderful people. I have memories gained in those regions I will never forget. 'The Buccaneer Archipelago', in the North West of the Kimberley, Western Australia is just stunning and one of my favourite Aussie locations. Great interview. Thanks Abbey and Mason.

  4. Another great podcast (USA!). Really enjoyed listening to Abbey’s story. Enjoying the coach in St. Kilda colors, too.
