I test 3 of the best titanium fairway woods, Mizuno STG Titanium 3 wood, TaylorMade Stealth2 Plus 3 wood & Ping G430 LST 3 wood to see which is the best looking, sound, feel & performance. Which of these golf clubs will I choose as the winner?

  1. I don't think that you gave the price for the Mizuno, so here are U.S. prices: TM $449.95, Ping $549.99, Mizuno $400. So, another win for Mizuno on price.

  2. Mizuno sole looks like the SIM2 Ti rocket I have. I have the stealth 2 plus 3 and 5 woods but think I prefer the SIM2 Ti.

  3. I don't disagree with your conclusion of your test Mike, but it seems odd to give looks, sound, technology, and performance all equal weighting. I would play a pink club that sounds like a fart if it was the best performing.

  4. When TaylorMade offered the Stealth 2 Plus 4 wood (16.5*), I immediately made the purchase. Couldn't be happier with it. Replaced a Ping G425 3 wood I turned one up.

  5. One of the things I overlooked online before trying the Ping LST is just how flat it is – It starts at 57 deg and cannot be moved upright at all. Meanwhile, the Stealth 2+ can be adjusted all the way from 57 to 61 deg

Didn't realize how much of a difference it would make but as a taller player, I absolutely hated the G430 LST because of how flat it was. Encouraged way too much of a slice even when I hit it flush

  6. IMHO, I think the TI FW winner (not from this test) is the 2 years old Sim2 TI at a steep discounted price.

  7. I had an OG stealth plus fairway and absolutely LOVED it. In typical Taylormade fashion- the speed slot of my 3 wood broke off and so I sent it in for warranty and received a Stealth 2 plus. I unfortunately haven’t found the stealth 2 plus as forgiving as the OG stealth. The moving weight is cool, but the OG stealth was SO forgiving and it was a rocket at the same time

  8. Very good grouping for the Mizuno for you there. I would gladly give up 3 yards if I was that dialed in and consistent. Interesting test.

  9. Awesome and thanks for that review! My new set of Mizuno clubs is really coming together! Hoping for something special from their new line of irons coming soon! 👍🙂

  10. TM just recently started offering this monster Stealth 2+ in 16.5° "4-wood" option. Just grabbed one. Love it. I gave the PING LST a whirl but the sound was a big put-off, even though it performed, it felt awful.

  11. this is very interesting. I'll wait 2 months when the Mizuno's drop to a third of the price and get one.
