I watched a video of Tiger explaining how he hits it. He hoods the face (extension of his left wrist) and tries to hit a hook. But, instead of swinging to the left as this gentleman is doing, Tiger swings out more to the right or down the line to make the ball come out straight vs yanking it left with the hooded face. Tiger says he never wants his pitches or chips to have "right" spin (caused by swinging left) on them when they land. It worked fairly well for him…….Also, the science of putting the most spin on a ball results from the face making contact at 45 degrees so a 56 degree sand wedge would have to be delofted for maximum spin. What am I missing?
looked like pretty standard chips to me.. not much spin at all..they all rolled out a good amount
Why are we talking about what Keith does, go get Keith
Awesome thx
One point I disagree with – it is ALWAYS about being sexy
What club were you using?
How far was your target?
What is it that puts the club inside, the pronation of the left forearm or the flexion of the left wrist? Whichever it is, it has to be undone to get the shaft back to vertical.
honestly, I'm none the wiser
What about weight distribution ? 70/30 ? or closer to a stock shot ?
It's more handsy and aggressive release with loose wrists. You want to feel as though that clubhead is getting to the ball before the hands. Makes no sense really but it happens. Pratice it. Mean shot when you pull it off
Cutting through the chase it was a very poor explanation not helped by the “ you could do this you could that qualifications” what is the use or value in trying to hit this shot if the end result is inconsistent the priority is getting it close or in the hole not getting low checking shots finishing in the 3 putt zone.
wow this was great. do you have a video doing a 30-50 yard shot
Who is Keith? Are u going to put up the Keith short game video? Can we see it? I luv your short game around the greens, it's spot-on-prefect.
Is it just me, or does anyone else want to see what the ball flight and result of the shot looks like? I watched for 3 or 4 minutes and still don't know what a low spinner shot actually looks like.
Parker, I'd love to see you demonstrate. Monkey see….
I'd sure like to see Parker demonstrate these shots. You get the right image.
The physics here is nonsense. The ball reacts not at all to club head acceleration. It's all about club head velocity at impact. Any talk about back swing is only meaningful add to how it sets up being able to strike the ball with a consistent velocity across swings.
Spin is a function of club head velocity, dynamic loft, and angle of attack. As to grooves, they don't help "grab" the ball from the fairway. A smooth club face would spin the ball more. Think slick tires for race cars. More surface area = more friction. Worn grooves spin the ball less from the fairway not because they're dull but because they've gotten wider, offering less surface area to touch the ball.
The only caveat is living in Florida where everything is Bermuda makes these shots much more difficult 😂
I like this channel. No BS! Well, some! ANyway, please EMPHASIZE (emphasis mine) the importance of practicing with a urethane ball, as s pin rates on hard balls and most isomers are as much as 50% less. Plus, hard balls elevate off the clubface at impact by about 30-40 and ruin the sense of distance
Might I humbly add that it's imperative to keep those grooves clean. I always carry a tiny retractable brush in my pocket and use every time grit appears on the face. Wedges will last a lot longer too! Cheers and thanks for the excellent vid – Dave
Love these. Parker is a master coach in explaining the technique and the shot. Looking forward to see more.
This is one of the most helpful golf instructional videos I have ever watched. Gave me a chipping game after more than 20 years. Watched it multiple times since, just as a refresher. Thanks!
I may be dumb but I keep watching this one and the standard pitch one and I cannot tell the difference between the two shots. Can SGC or someone please help me understand the differences? Thanks in advance!
Where is the Spin?? Not even one of the shots shown grabs or anything… this video is not good at showing what to do to play a 2 hop stop shot 😂😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Too much talking
