Boxercise involves a variety of movements, techniques like shadow-boxing, skipping, Mitt drills, kicking punchbags, pushups, shuttle-runs and sit-ups. Mainly or mostly usually to music. This is a safe, fun and challenging way to get a good, all-over workout.
* Strengthens muscles. Boxing improves muscle strength used in everyday activities. The fast twitch muscle fibres required for more explosive movements are also trained / strengthened gradually.
* Improves hand- eye coordination, on both the left and right side of the body. Unlike asymmetrical sports such as tennis and golf, your body improves evenly on both sides, reducing postural misalignment.
* Increases mental agility. Sports behavioural studies have shown that the training techniques used by boxers using punchbags and sparring lead to superior increases of stamina levels.
* Builds core strength: To take a punch and hold your balance, your abdominals need to be strong and toned – this strong core stability can reduce the risk of back pain and improve posture.
– No ill manners intended by the language in the music.
– If your familiar with Hip-Hop you know the energy and vibes.
– Trying to bring a vibe, something different from the normal if you understand.
– We in uncertain times now, so if this makes smile, laugh feel a good emotion some how, take the piss I ain’t bothered. At least its taken you away for a second from tough situations.
Workout structure:
– Suitable for new starters, slow down if need be
– No push ups / Sit ups / Jumping
– Build up gradually to a full combination
– Movement / Knee Raises / Squats
– In beat to the music
– Upbeat + Moderate tempo
– Freeze frames { BRANDING COLOURS } are the designated Relax Time.
– If tired before, then pause until you hear GET READY
– Start moving when you hear EXERCISE
– These are quick breaks for those with new starter cardio levels.
