A lot of redditors are miserable people who out of envy want others to be miserable just like they are. This site is angsty and spiteful AF.
This subreddit is pretty bad at it but its not the worst on the site. There’s a number of large subreddits that regularly make the front page that are just absolute trash like /r/whitepeopletwitter etc where literally everypost there is negative or trashing people.
Seeing someone genuinely happy and successful like Bubbie is probably jarring to them because they are not used to positivity and joy.
