Let's freaking go 🏌️
Curious how the actual ball striking numbers compare now to when you started? If this was in the video I missed it.
I will comment that your instructor seems genuinely invested in your improvement. Of course, having this journey documented on YouTube is perhaps a factor there.
My experience with GolfTec was more of a sales pitch for more lessons which led me to opt out after the initial evaluation (which was less than impressive as I could pick out most of the faults with my own eyeball, and I'm a golf moron).
Finding a way to film yourself is critical to improvement, and you have taken that to the average golfer ultimate boss level!
You guys just stated why getting lessons from an experienced pro is best for us especially when we stick with one coach long term. We have to give the person we pick at least 3 months and go all in, that means buying into what they’re teaching and putting in the practice time, in order to see if we get real lasting results. If w do all of this and there is no lasting improvement, we move to someone else, but if there is lasting improvement, we stick around. Congrats, Chad on the improvements. Like you said, you were tougher to coach because you had layers of swings from many years of different coaches in your head, which had to be eliminated, or, at least, reduced substantially. Keep improving, brother; I’m enjoying your journey. Cheers.
Really great effort. Glad to see you making the improvements you've worked so hard for.
Obviously some great things in there and many things are about the best I've ever seen them in your swing. You're essentially now completing your turn more in keeping with the flat hand motion that you have and so are much more in synch. Trail elbow was working much better and hence more lag and your hips were staying back more easily.
I do think, after what I said last week, that I can clearly see that you have have compensatory movements due to trail wrist extension limitations. Without those issues, I think you could be driving the shaft through the ball even more from where you were at the top in these videos.
So I think that what I said last week is absolutely spot on. If you make the exact same takeaway and turn as in these videos (obviously hand path will adjust slightly) and get your arms more in line with the shaft at address and sit down in your stance just a touch more, I think that you will have the optimal configuration to increase the power of your release, and this will help you keep your trail foot a little flatter and help you keep it more perpendicular to the target line into impact, all while minimizing TWE impacts on your swing. I believe that your angle of approach will be more optimized, your release will become freeer and you will most likely gain distance and even more likely control.
Great work on the improvements. Cheers.
Some good stuff chad ! You'll like the ping hybrids. Long & forgiving .
Glad your happy. Keep your monkey slappers off that young lady before she hurts you. Nice work 👏
I have been watching your updates and admire your perseverance with your instructor. Does she have a philosophy as it’s not clear to me? I can’t say that I would have stuck with her for as long as you have, sorry for the criticism but I don’t understand if there is any sort of progression from her lessons.
I think it’s time for one of your impressive on course videos to see how your swing has progressed. Hopefully you will be happy with your ball striking, distance control, accuracy from tee to green, etc after all the time you have devoted with her professional lessons🤞
Thanks for this journey you took us on Chad. I think GolfTec would help a lot of us but is it worth the investment? How many lessons did you take and what would all those lessons cost us if we went? Just to be evaluated is 150$ and then they give you the lesson plan. Could be costly I’d imagine. Hope to see the course Vlogs soon!
Glad to see this all coming together for you man! Thanks for all the great content bro!
Thanks for sharing this journey with al of us, Chad! I'm curious if this translates into better ball striking, or better scores?
I think once you hit the ball pretty solidly, course management is the best way to improve. If you're on a journey to really control the ball flight. I think you'd have to agree that when you watch the pros play, they do hit errant shots and miss their target most of the time. They are masters at getting up and down on those difficult courses they play however. If you compare Jim Venetos, and Todd Graves, Kirk Junge etc. their misses seem much less severe than most tour pros, exceptions Bryson,
Calvin Peete. Moe Norman, George Knudsen, Ben Hogan…There is clearly a more efficient way to strike the ball that makes ballflight much more consistent without having to hit a million golf balls. Thanks again for all the great information! Iam currently using the Single plane swing for Driver and Jim Venetos for everythig else to great effect.
Hey Chad
How many hours a week are you practicing and how often are you videoing that practice?
Looks like your getting there . I'm looking forward to you taking this to the Golf course.
It may be a few more weeks though to lock it in. Good luck 😊
All this talk about rotation and hip angles. Are you hitting better golf shots?
