Stephen Curry was on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast and said he’s better than Magic Johnson. That got a lot of hate online but is he right?

  1. Very good point about who fits better in an all time 5, off ball Steph is a cut above

  2. Who cares about what if? MJ could have won 8 straight if he didn't retire, nobody cares, we count only the things that he did, not the things he didn't do.

  3. No, goat point guard doesn't mean who would I rather have. In that case if I have a team of other great players I'd pick Larry Bird over Lebron as my SF because Bird fits well with other stars that also need the ball, does that make Larry the GOAT SF over Bron?

  4. 1 MVP, 1 ring and 2 FMVPs, that resume is a solid HOF resume and that is the gap between Magic and Steph. That's too big of a gap for my money to put Steph ahead.

  5. He thinks hes the best because he works hard for it…he practice a lot and probably so much more than magic…even i myself thinks im the best if i work really hard for something….just saying how everyone else needs to adapt in order to compete with golden state…all because the monster is in the bay…the bay raised little monsters around him to support him thus green and klay existed…we all know that these two are homegrown….i will always differentiate a homegrown to someone acquired…just like how other teams got their superstars from trades…then they try to compare them to gsw and accuse gsw of being stacked all because they have green and klay…bruhhh, thise are homegrowns…while everyone is busy stacking up superstars gsw is busy building talents.

  6. Who cares about the rings and all-star selections. Just look at the talent level, where Steph is other worldly. Put him on those Lakers teams and he easily wins as many championships as Magic … end of story. While Magic had players like Worthy, Kareem (though at end of career) and others, Steph has had, for example, Draymond Green … come on.
Steph can create his own offence and shot, in addition to setting up others. And he can take over a game. Just ask the Celtics, who were so close to taking a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals, only to watch Steph go out of his mind in that gaudy 4th quarter performance to propel the Warriors to a critical victory, where they then won the next 2 games as well. [NOTE: I typed this out before looking at the full video, and sure enough, you made this same point I had, as would anyone who is looking at this argument from a player versus player perspective.] Also, Steph is among the greatest shooters in NBA history, if not the best (here one would have to look at some players from different eras and playing styles of that time). Finally, as you so aptly note, he changed the way the game is played, whether one likes this new NBA (the 3-point shooting contest) or not.

  7. Each era has their own superstars, there is no such things as all time greats. If we wanna debate on that, just make a team of best 10 players in each era and using stats to analyse and discuss why a certain era team will beat another

  8. Curry’s last ring doesn’t change my mind. If the Grizzlies or the Nuggets didn’t have stats injured, the Warriors would’ve lost.

  9. Magic can be effective in transition but Steph is effective the entire game. Imagine guarding Steph because you know he will pull a 3 anywhere near the half court. Magic transition game wouldn't be always there all the time, he need steals or his teammates to get the rebound and give it to him to push the pace while Steph can just stand there and attract 2 defenders

  10. When did we value so much the opinion of random people on the internet? and you, the one reading this, you can just ignore my comment and move on with your life, its that simple

  11. Everybody today are prisoners of the moment specially the young generation and people who start watching bball too late Magic is by far the greatest PG ever by far ,Steph Curry is a shooting guard no a point guard period

  12. Steve Kerr didn't introduce a system, cus Steph just did that. Kerr has to live behind what he already knows to adjust to Steph's revolutionary game changing system.

  13. Those who are saying that this is 1 a 1 b are the same people who say that Larry Bird vs KD is not even a debate because Bird is better all around player but for some reason that argument is not used for magic

  14. So because yall make some shit up, it's true. This generation doesn't know anything about Magic. Anybody under the age of 35 opinion not valid. Because people have to pay attention to you, doesn't give you a plus for creating offense. Basketball has no position anymore. And yall move the goal post for your favorite players.

  15. To everyone saying he couldn't win no matter how he answered: Watch how Michael Jordan answered the same question, only he was asked if he was the GOAT. He gave the perfect answer and nobody was upset at all. Always choose humility first.
