ONEONTA, Ala.– The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men’s golf team returns to competition when they tee it up at the UAB Graeme McDowell Invitational starting on Sunday at Limestone Spring Golf Course.
The 54-hole event will feature 18 holes each day running through Tuesday with UTRGV’s first group teeing off at 10:18 a.m.
Limestone Spring Golf Course plays 6,987 yards and is a par 72.
The Competition
There will be a 13-team field that will feature UTRGV, host UAB, Jacksonville State, Lamar, Louisiana, ULM, North Alabama, Oral Roberts, Samford, Southern Illinois, Tarleton State, Troy, and USC Upstate. Louisiana Tech will send individuals.

Last Time Out
The Vaqueros opened the fall semester at the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff, hosted by the University of Missouri, at Dalhousie Country Club.
The Vaqueros finished in 10th place with a three-round score of 896 after posting rounds of 291, 299, and 306.
Senior Javier Neira Garcia led the way for the Vaqueros with a three-round score of 219 after posting rounds of 70, 72, and 77 as he finished tied for 22nd.
Freshman Emilio Gil Leyva finished tied for 41st with a three-round score of 225 with rounds of 72, 73, and 80.
Sophomore Juan Luis de Bethencourt Duque finished tied for 44th with a three-round score of 226 with rounds of 74, 77, and 75. Freshman Esteban Gonzalez finished in 65th with a three-round score of 233 after posting rounds of 75, 77, and 81 and sophomore Henry Wang finished in 72nd with a three-round score of 239 with rounds of 79, 86, and 74.
