  1. Time stamps may be less accurate than usual. There was a huge glitch in the video file that I had to fix (also the reason for the late release) but I hope you can all be okay with that. Love, BBD

  2. I agree about the home run stink. The game has changed and everyone does some sort of celebration these days. Heck, I remember Harper doing a pair of HR celebrations in the NLCS against San Diego when he led the Phillies to the World Series … Oh, and Topper was the head coach at that time. The game is no longer stiff and void of emotion and excitement and its because players are, in a way, acting more child like and basking in accomplishments that are to this day just as difficult as they were years ago.

  3. Interesting intro when we're in the midst of an investigation into some of the biggest government corruption in history, Some of. Good ep though, actually I don't know that. I just started watching.

  4. Trev’s reaction to Jake’s math was hilarious 🤣 50% + 15% + 15% = 85% in some roundabout way 🤣 Trev, don’t get frustrated, it’s not a math pod!

  5. Going back to 2 divisions and just each winner in a LCS should be the way to go. I dont need mediocre or lucky teams wining playoff games dues to someone getting hot or hurt or some weird rule/lucky bounce situation.

  6. As a Brewers fan, I wouldn't pick them to win the World Series, but I do believe they COULD shut down any offense in the game with their pitching staff in a postseason environment. The offense has also been much better since August. They're playin good ball right now and are dangerous.

  7. When did Plouffe turn on the Braves? You can just tell he doesn’t fuck with them like he used to.

  8. The Braves want to play the Phillies and revenge last year. That is all Braves talk about. And last year, let's be honest Phillies were lucky. Fried was sick (lost 10lbs in a week) and Strider was hurt. Everyone knows that, but never mention it as it doesn't fit the narrative. That is part of the game but it was a factor. Go Braves and shut up the doubters!!

  9. I hate to bring race and culture into it BUT black/latino people like to celebrate and have fun when we play games. For so long players had to conform to the "white man's" way of baseball and never show emotion and be stone-faced. Im glad that players like Acuna have said F it and celebrate how they want. So the Phillies manager can shutup for life. The irony is that Rhys Hoskins had the most relplayed homerun celebration of 2022. But I guess thats ok for him to do.

  10. Trevor is just dead-ass wrong about Tyler Matzek. Tyler has absolutely never been one of those old school pitchers. Soft, boomer pitchers that got mad at batters pimping/show-boating homeruns. He is literally the opposite. All he has ever 'said' on the subject, is essentially, "If they hit one off me, they get to do what they want." Look at the way HE, Matzek, celebrates getting strikeouts. Trev, you are just straight up wrong there. Tyler Nutzack is exactly the dude who CAN call out the soft Phillies coach for that lame comment. Aren't they the same team where Hoskins had one of the most epic batflips of the season last year against the Braves in the playoffs? I don't remember Snit having anything to say about that, other than, "We should've played better."

  11. Trevor Plouffe, you also have remember that Max Fried was sick at the end of the year (he even mentioned that he missed last years game 161 clincher celebration) losing 15 lbs, and then tried to come back to pitch game 1 which he didn't look like himself. Also Strider was hurt and missed the last month of the season, and tried to come back during the NLDS and wore out after a couple innings, and that was 2 of the 3 games they lost. I think their starting pitching will be more on track this year, than they were last year come play-off time.

  12. as a blue jays fan id prefer we forget about everyone but Davis "Babe" Schneider

  13. Stop trying to make "boatin" happen, it's never gonna happen. In all seriousness, stop saying it cause it sounds friggin RIDICULOUS!!

  14. Not sure if it’s just y’all being tired of Braves fans or what, but it feels like lately y’all have had a tone of boredom/annoyance with this Braves team for having success. Not sure why I say that, but I know if it was the dodgers, Trevor would be tasting them so hard every episode. Also, stimulator was complete BS, you can’t tell me the Phillies who have been smoked by the Braves all year are going to beat the Braves, just to go on to lose to the dodgers (who also got smoked by the Braves). That math just doesn’t math.

  15. Last thing- I think it’s hilarious to criticize the team that has taken a division title over you for 6 straight, won a WS in that time, and has an all time great offense while winning over 100 games this year by saying “act like you’ve been there before” for getting hyped in a division win. You had 4 opportunities to kick the Braves a** and keep them from celebrating, yet you didn’t. They took your lunch money, in your house and you got salty about it, knowing dang well your team does the same stuff. Stop being a sore loser topper, it’s a bad look and it makes an a** out of the league when you crap on a really fun and exciting team in our game today. Don’t hate on someone else’s success just because you’re spending almost a billion dollars in total team contracts for the next 10 years, and you still can’t buy a division title.

  16. toronto's done. if they couldnt get up to even put up a competitive effort in this rangers series, they're not suddenly going to find some black magic to finish the season strong.

  17. Why is it so bad to want to see some old school traditions being upheld in baseball? I’m not against a bat flip (or spike) in appropriate moments. Doing it in big moments is what makes it memorable. Doing it every time you do sometime good waters it down and makes you look foolish.

  18. 56:48 so, so good… leading up to that epic "No, you don't. You don't know shit! … In the nicest way possible…" Jake to Trev moment. Wheee.

  19. It’s funny that the Mets are gonna play a huge role in which wild card team chokes here. Unfortunate they own the snakes. If the blue jays don’t make it that would be insanely disappointing I’ve found them to be a disappointment this year

  20. I love the Farmers Dog reads because that means we get a Noodle update. Before TFD was a sponsor we'd be lucky if we got one quick Noodle reference a week, now we get almost full updates on every ep!

  21. As a Red Sox, I'm glad Bloom was fired. I had no faith in him upgrading the Major League roster. He did a great job upgrading the farm but he completely neglected starting pitching all year and bungled the last 2 deadlines. Cora, Jansen, Rafi all publicly begged for him to add some pitching and he does nothing and has the audacity to say we were underdogs. We were just 2.5 out of a playoff spot at the time.

The reason he was fired though is because he made this team irrelevant, made them the 4th sport in town. When the Dodgers came to town, Fenway was invaded by Dodger fans, same when the Mets came here. Noone cared about Red Sox v. Yankees, tickets were given away, that's embarrassing. Bloom wasn't made for Boston, he can be a great small market GM but in Boston things work differently. Need a new front office to take the next step forward, a potential last place finish 3 out of 4 years isn't good enough. Later Chaim.

  22. I love these well thought out comments, and from wide variety of teams across baseball. They add to and create such interesting discussion. Thanks to all who put thoughtful comments.

  23. Clowns talkin baseball. Change to that. Your "Padres" are the best in west is nothing but a clown talk
