Leeds have been told they must honour the contract of Jean-Kevin Augustin after being found to have breached their former player’s agreement.

The forward, now at Basel, who spent six months at Elland Road in 2020 and played only 49 minutes in the league, took his case against Leeds to FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber.

Sky Sports News understands Leeds have appealed against the decision, although a spokesperson has said: “The club cannot comment on an ongoing legal matter.”

  1. Due to the Covid delay" what a joke more importantly what an embarrassment shocking get paying up

  2. Leeds released him from his contract so that he could join Nantes as a free agent. Leeds had to pay Leipzig because they were deemed to have been obliged under the loan agreement to pay the fee. So if Jean-Kevin Augustin agreed to getting released so he could sign for another club should Leeds not now be entitled to a fee from Nantes? Afterall would Leeds have agreed to release him if they thought he would then demand his wages?

  3. There are a lot of people slagging Leeds off over this all I have to say is. MAN CITY ,CHELSEA, EVERTON. Nothing being done about fiddling the books but everyone having a go because its Leeds

  4. How they try back out because of covid-19 changes . He helped you get what you agreed on, just be credible and pay up and just say you didn't want ro sign him permanently. Dodgy business from Leeds disgraceful move to try find loop hole like that

  5. He got to the team he was unfit. Didn't care about being fit. Then he joined a new club instantly. So he has had wages for years. He didn't 'miss' any wages.

  6. The onus is on Leeds to check out potential signings and give them a full medical before offering a contract, they should be forced to honour this contract.

  7. If Leeds needs to pay him his wages because he was still under contract, then imo Nantes needs to pay Leeds a fee because he was still a Leeds player and the wage Jean-Kevin Augustin earned belongs to Leeds since he was still there player
