That 2nd set was epic! 2 hours long! WOW! Novak, in Serbian presser, said that towards the end of that set, he was losing clear sight and running on fumes so that only God & his Guardian Angels could have really walked him over the line because he himself does not know how he did it! That said: #24 GS's + #4USO. ROK ON Nole! 3 tight close sets. Nole was fresher & hungry. Nole's learning curve for each situational condition is sublime. Set 1 came out smokin'. Set 2 a grind on execution & endurance – could have gone either way! 3rd set equally close – came down to execution. 3 out of 4 slams won – finals of all 4 in 2021 @ 33/34 yrs. & 2023 @ 35/36 yrs WOW! I found Shelton embarrassing with his cocky attitude. He wouldn't even smile or say a word to Novak after the match. He needs to humble himself a bit, and be more gracious. He had just gotten his rear end handed to him too.
well noticed by steve, that novak was in control in the first half of the second set, no one seemed to mention that. it all changed after daniil saved a break point and held
