  1. Practice swinging on a level plain like a baseball bat is so hopeful because you can see very easily what the club face is doing and how to square it. Then all you have to do is bend forward and soften the knees and you got a golf swing

  2. Hey Eric! My only comment is, sometimes tall guys like myself have a more vertical swing/lift with the arms in front of the chest, rather than horizontal movement across the chest and behind. Davis Love III is a pretty good example of this, even with driver (not including the outliers like Dustin or Bubba who are absurdly high, even with driver). But there are also some guys who aren't overly tall, like Justin Thomas, who also lift a whole lot with the arms, including with driver. Your video with Kevin Roman (?) regarding horizontal vs upright was very enlightening regarding the two basic different backswings. For myself, although I don't lift absurdly high with the driver, I have found great success getting my arms up slightly above my right shoulder, and letting the arms fall blending with the body turn (with some help from Shaun and Mike at AMG, and not unlike your recent video with Trevor). Hitting it more consistent and farther than ever with all clubs, but particularly with driver, since beginning to implement this at the beginning of August. Finally a real weapon for me rather than a liability. And I fully realize there are outliers on both sides of this fence… Cheers! 👍

  3. Eric, was this student too steep with all their clubs or just the longer shafted ones?

  4. I’ve been working on keeping my head still well not so much still but over the ball. Trying to kill the sway and rotate more efficiently. I found in order to turn at all like I want to, the turning of the hips comes after the club gets taken away a few inches. I was trying to takeaway and turn my hips simultaneously for a long ducking time lol. So im quiet legs early and more upper body then that gets some nice torque into my lower w o doing anything. By working on it this way Im seeing much better accuracy and easy power. I eventually got into the groove 1 day at range w this concept and I was striking it so pure I asked if I could take the Matt home 😂 now I’m going to add this lil nugget of golf fundamental! I never even thought of it this way from wedge to iron. 5 iron is my weakest club but I wish I could hit a 2-3 iron or even 4 like a boss. Hate this game! 😁

  5. I'm totally lost with all the woods and hybrids. With my woods and hybrids, tee or off the floor, I hit low pull hooks that get no distance. I'm at the point where I have taken them all out of my bag. I'm hitting my 5i about 175 total (155 carry) and I just tee off with that or below depending ont he distance. Frustrating.

  6. Great clip Eric. So dos the same apply then to LOWER irons as per driver?

  7. Hi. In one of your earlier videos, a guest coach said that a more vertical backswing requires less rotation during downswing: I have a bad left knee and wondering if going steep can lessen the pressure on the lead knee?

  8. Never watched your videos really before this, but this is definitely where I struggle and you’ve made this so simple. Will definitely be trying this at the range tonight. Thanks 👍

  9. I hit too much around on my irons, so quite the opposite. When I go steeper, the clubface tends to fan more open though. Any pointers / relevant videos on that by any chance? Keep up the good work!

  10. Fantastic video. you described my swing to a tee.(pardon the pun) The three warm up swings are great. Thanks for the assist.

  11. I was taught that the body created the “around” and the arms simply went up and down. That didn’t seem to jive with the baseball drill. I’m going to try to swing more around and hope it helps.

  12. This drill/tip/lesson was game changer for my swing. I’m exactly what you described- I’m pretty good with my short irons but longer clubs, not so much/lousy. Not just swinging around body but I made sure not to have my hands go beyond my shoulder (which I tend to do). Best range session since forever. Looking forward to using on course. Thanks for great video session on this

  13. Very happy to hear the word "depth". Too many of us think wide and not deep. Since I have been working on depth in my swing for about a month now, I was able to pick up more yards and more consistent accuracy.

  14. Could this be the reason for snap hooking the longer clubs and woods? Thanks in advance! ⛳🏌️

  15. Another masterpiece tip that has helped with my dispersion on the course. My driver has become tighter in off center strikes. You are the best instructor on Youtube without a doubt. Eric you make learning simple for weekend players.

  16. Any tip for where I should stand when using my driver would be much appreciated. Starting to golf again after a knee replacement but have also been golfing for close to 20 years so my short game and pitching is decent

  17. I can't wait to try that second drill and hit the bucket farther than the ball 😅
