agree with Rex. Practice?
I am amazed that with the importance of the event, they dont go see the course. When the PGA was at the straights..Stricker didnt bother to go there. No excuse for JT not to go and get a look a the gigantic rough. The owe it to themselves…but if there is no cash in it, they wont do it. All the Euros were there….that is the big difference.
PGA Tour players barely need to see a course. They need an intended line and yardage for the shot to be played. The caddies need to scout the course more than the professionals so they can walk their player through the shot. Course familiarity is great if you have played well in the past.
Thomas should have respectfully declined his selection. Its a shame his ego has gotten the better of him. Too bad cpt johnson couldnt find his stones
Amazing. It is the captain's pick. End of Line. The Ryder Cup players will easily make over a million dollars each in sponsorships and their lives are even more enriched. Historically, the players were criticized when they didn't play the course prior to the Ryder Cup. You are right, you should be criticized.
They don't do it for free as the PGA established them getting paid good money over the years! They won't do you two jobs for free!😊😅😂❤
The players always say how important it is to make the team, and they know that making the team will require commitments like going for a practice round. If they are going to keep saying how making the ryder cup team is so important they need to either show that or take their names out of the hat for players that make the team.
Do the US men's olympic basketball team get payed millions in appearance fees to play? Do they not also have plenty of practices together? I mean they might get some pay but it's nothing compared to what they're worth. This take is pretty lame.
Rex is wrong…this is a team event. If they dont want to be part of the team, tell us now. If they dont perform well during the event, they will be buried. Why take that risk?
Most the Euros live in Florida, these type events have lost something by so many Euro players go to US college and main residence is not Euro. The participants should be paid, huge money is generated and goes ?
I agree that the players should get paid. The event is so big now, there are wads of money flowing in. For a 6 day event with just 3 days of actual play, I suggest 1mil each winning, 300k for losing.

Pro bono? There are already filthy rich, FILTHY in terms of like a ridiculous amount of net worth and this dude has the balls to say pro bono. They aren’t getting paid to go on an all boys golf excursion for a week vacation in Rome? WTF is this dude talking about? How disconnected can one dude be? How much should you pay them to go on this this little trip Rex? 50, 100 grand, 200 grand? F off on that. Dumbest shit I’ve heard in a while.
