What about the great Lee Trevino that advocated most people would benefit from playing the ball further back. I know personally when I setup with this positioning things get sideways for me.
Not smart
What??????
Thanks Screech.
If you move ball position on irons and still need low point ahead of ball; you need to change how much you shift left in downswing.
Let your club length dictate comfortable ball position except driver inside front foot!
Ball position is different based on height. I practice with the tiles for alignment and ball positioning everyday. It really does help.
Gotta love a big D
Wrong
My issue is how far back from the ball do I need to stand? I feel like I’m always either too close and my arms are pressed against my body or I’m too far and have to reach and bend way over
this is simply just not right, unless you want timing golf. noticing how the drivers setup comes out of nowhere like a long iron, it just doesn’t work like that for everyone. iykyk
Hello Chris, what about head position? Should I keep my head behind the ball through the bag or just the longer clubs? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
I’m going to try this tomorrow
I’m gonna try this the next round I play.
Short irons you are supposed to hit down on the ball not up
This onto made it more confusing
I don’t recommend but it’s so weird but I’m automatic when the balls in the back of my stance 😂
People, please don't push your hands this far forward.
I’m not entirely new to golf but it’s only my 3rd year, I’ve always kept the shaft a bit lined up straight down the middle instead of using the lead pocket tip in fear of closing the face too much. Is this key for consistency in all irons? Possibly wedges too?
I intuitively saw this and told my friends I'm trying something new for improvement.
Now I'm watching this and I'm on YouTube for more fascinating techniques to learn.
Why would it be intentional? There is NO benefit to intentionally dropping that ball… so he already had the double play in the bag… but they are saying he intentionally dropped it to just get another double play? Thats stupid
Seguta golf says the ball is always on inside left foot, the only change is the back foot. Further away the lower the club #
this felt confusing cause you kept shifting your body along the clubs too
I really needed this. I catch myself overthinking which leads to me absolutely striping the top of a ball.
Commenting to come back
So your long iron position is same as your 3 wood?
THANK YOU! I’m a +22 and I never know where to put the ball In my stance. Playing Saturday at my go to course, I’ll reply with my score using this new found knowledge
What about one length irons ??
I try to place ball inside front instep for all shots & move trail foot wider for long clubs & driver
Yeah… tha ks for clearing it all.up.genius.
Aligning the grip with the lead pocket is a tip I had never seen until now and I feel like its gonna help a ton
Newbie here…. Why is it we never talk about width of stance in relation to ball position. It would seem if stance is off, ball position would then be off.
