Last post for tonight, I tried having my BenQ Mx819st floor mounted. Did not work at all so I “ceiling” mounted it the best I could! With the buckets the projector sits about 8.5 foot from the ground! It does look a lot taller in the picture. I will not even come close to hitting It but I have tall friends. We all have to hit off center so I go as far left as I can since im left handed and my friends go far right since they are right handed. I can see them hitting the projector for sure.

Anyone have a better way of raising the projector higher? Other then ising the buckets? I was thinking about getting a mount at the top of the ceiling but thats way way to high. Thats about 17 feet to the top.

I am more intrigued by the bucket that appears to be a structural component in this operation.

I was the very first guy to comment on your first post about this. Build something better for you projector. Even two vertical 2x4s to put your cross memeber on. Those buckets will fall and break your projector

I can tell your not very inclined in regards to carpentry. This is a very simple frame job. Draw it out on paper.
You can go up from the joists then across for your new beam. Or you can drop off the roof. Many options very easy

Universal drop down projector mounts are like $10 on Amazon and will just screw into that vertical 2×4.

Edit. Also, because that’s absolutely going to fall. Tie your projector to a short cord to one of the actual cross beams, so if it falls it won’t hit the floor. I may or may not have recently dropped my projector 10ft onto pavement…
